First of all, I had an appointment set weeks in advance, but when I got there, they were short handed and a 3 hour installation took 5 hours because the owner/manager had to do the install and work the counter. One would assume that if they knew in advance that they had an installation appointment, that they would make sure they had enough staff to cover the counter. I think a person with a reserved time slot should come before someone walking in and buying boxes.Donna C.

I've rented over 100 Uhaul's this year alone and this was by far the worst experience. The check in wanted me to have 2 emergency contacts which I've never had to do. They wanted me to take a picture of my own license which I've never had to do. They wanted me to take pictures of my own truck, never done. Then the guy that checked me out was rude and pointed out scratches on a beat up uhaul like I did then. The uhaul in St Joseph MO is much better than this location. Terrible experienceChristopher R.

When the employee hooked the trailer to my vehicle he did not tighten the hutch to the ball. I luckily did not have it come off the ball before I found it was loose. Employees need to be fully trained and need to make sure they do not cut corners when connecting trailers to customers vehicles.Darrell H.

Communication was horrible until things got in the last-minute and the manager at the Tiffany Springs location absolutely disrespectful and belittling. The staff outside of him were professional though. I honestly hate that I chose that location and uhaul all together for my storage. I may not have ended my terms with them in the best manor but honestly after the process I had with them followed with the grand finally unprofessional conversation (or lack of) that I had with the manager, I was sadly just over it in total. I will say that the facility as far as the units were clean and again the staff were professional once you did get them on the phone but thinking of the manager and his conduct frustrates me till this moment.camille f. | Overall Experience

I showed the gentleman at the counter, my reservation confirmation, and he advised it had been canceled. I asked if they had another vehicle available which I ended up renting since I was there, but he was very unfriendly. He should not be at the front counter helping customers.Mark H.

Worst experience of my life with U-Haul and possible any other company I've ever dealt with. Andy at the counter of this location was extremely rude and condescending. Our reservation was for a 20' truck, and it was confirmed the night before, only to show up and be told they had no 20' trucks available. I saw three 20' trucks on the lot but they refused to give me what I had reserved. They forced us to take a 26' truck, which is way more truck than I wanted to be driving because I also had an auto transport as well. Customer service was also terrible, every person in the organization we spoke to was terrible. I've never had a worst experience, and never been so upset with the way I was treated. I will do everything in my power to avoid U-Haul going forward. I know this review is just a formality for you so this will fall on deaf ears, but hopefully there's a chance someone hears us.Andy F.

Truck had barely enough fuel to get me to Platte City 7 miles away . It was just barely off the empty mark when I picked it up, although it was supposed to have a quarter tank. She adjusted that before I left. When I got to Platte City the low fuel reminder said 6 miles to empty. This sort of thing shouldn't happen. The truck was fairly clean but not in very good condition. Obviously should be retired. Your employees were constantly bickering amongst themselves. The lady that was taking â€œcareâ€ of us was more than just a little rude. She said she had to go check the vehicle again because something was wrong with the computer. It had already been checked in. The truck was quite a ways as there was a long line of vehicles that had been setting there for hours. I explained that I was handicapped and asked if they made any accommodations for handicapped. She said yes there was handicapped parking and I should go stand by my vehicle. (Very rudely) when she did come by she completely ignored me and talked to my wife.As a Twenty year military veteran and a senior citizen I can assure you I will never recommend UHAUL to anyone. I have used UHAUL many times over the years and have never experienced anything like this. The way things are going these days these folks will be given a raise and a promotion. Dropped trailer off with agent at approx 9:40am and did not receive email/text closing contract. Next day took repeated phone calls and on the phone at least an hour to finally get trailer checked in. Local agent had attitude when inquiring about status. Poor customer service and misinformation provided. Did not take accountability for their shortcomings.Joel P.

If you're renting a vehicle for a non-for-profit organization, make sure you know when you should bring your documentation. I was told to bring my tax exempt letter when I settled up. Maybe that's true if you settle up in person, but if you bring your rental back before they open (Sunday), you settle up on-line and have no way of indicating a tax exempt status. So I had to "eat" it. Be sure to ask how to handle this situation if you cannot bring back your vehicle during their "open" hours.james K.

Everything was excellent EXCEPT returning the truck after hours. The process was tedious & confusing at times. At one point the system would not take the odometer reading. If you didn't have a smart phone, you'd be out of luck.BARBarA B.

Check-in was VERY SLOW. I was scheduled to pick up the Truck at 9AM CDT. Everyone was nice but slow and not efficient. They did not have the truck ready and had to find it then pull it around and clean it out, etc. We did not finish check in until 9:45 AM. This already threw us behind schedule. The inside of the truck was clean, but the engine sounded horrible, a lot of rattling, and would stay on 4 RPMs for a long time before it even shifted gears. I told the girl who checked me back in, but she didn't seem to be concerned and said I could tell the manager. (I thought the whole point of outside, and online check-in was that you did not have to go inside. I doubt she mentioned it to her manager. Also, the fuel gage does not work properly and gets stuck at the 7/8 of a tank. I fueled the truck before return, and initially the fuel gage moved, but then stopped moving and then after a bit the gas pump stopped because it ended up completely filling the tank. I asked the girl who checked me in about getting reimbursed for the 1/4 tank gas they just got for free, and she said that was not possible. I mentioned well if I didn't bring the truck back to the fuel gage at 7/8 you would have charged me $4.75 per gallon. So basically, you all received a fuel tank of gas because your fuel gages do not work properly. It did not read FULL until about 20 minutes after I filled the truck. She just went through a check list and did not seem concerned. We were about a good 20 yards from the front door of the building and those employees outside were just standing around and someone belched so loud it echoed. Not a professional crew working for you, and they didn't really seem to care. Someone should be listening and making notes on the trucks that are returned. They need to be Mechanically maintained. I will look elsewhere next time I need to rent a truck.Tabith P.

The people there cheated me out of money and charged me for 2 extra days when I only had the truck for one day. And wouldn't give me back all the money they owed me. I will never do business with U-Haul again. It's pretty sad when you take advantage of the elderly.sharron S.
The app glitched on me during check-in. The employee was great at helping. During checkout, I must've answered an answer wrong because the app tried to charge me a $25 cleaning fee for a clean truck. The same employee took care of that for me and I didn't get charged. I wonder how many people don't actually look and just accept the charges. Be sure you fill up the gas tank...I paid $35 for a quarter tank only because I didn't have time to fill up myself. Great customer service and will do business there again if needed.Brian H.

The staff were very helpful and kind. The facility itself needs improvement, starting with elevators. It was explained prior to reserving that the elevators were being renovated. I decided to continue because the apartment I was living out off was literally across the street from the facility. Convenience kept my business. The only hiccup I had was when I went to return the truck and unpack into storage, there was construction blocking the particular storage unit. Therefore, we weren't able to unpack that day.
