The truck I received wouldn't go over 55 on the four lane empty! It sounded like it was going to break down at any moment. I had to wait a long time to get waited on when I picked the truck up because the guys there were on their cell phones. I rented a utility dolly which was in the store and had to be taken to the truck, I had several things including my purse in my hands and then was struggling with the Dolly they never offered to assist but simply told me that my truck was 6 rows down to look for the numbers and check in on my phone . I called numerous times to see how much it would cost to keep it 2 hours over and couldn't get anyone . We kept the truck 2 hours over and when I returned I was charged an entire day including insurance and the cost of equipment again . I get being charged for the truck for 2 hours but an entire day? You can rent them for an hour+ so why couldn't I rent for only 2 additional hours. I once again had to stand at the counter and wait to be waited on because the guy behind the counter was on his cell phone .. same guy as yesterday a guy came in from outside and waited on me while the other was still on his phone.. he didn't even greet me . The $288 I spent at that location was not only the last money I spend in Charleston with Uhaul but the last time I chose uhaul completely! We rent often from My employment as well as my husbands and that won't happen anymoreKIMBERLY DAWN H.

One of the service personnel at this location helped me find a storage unit to keep my stuff in. She also told me about the free month rental for any one way rentals I had during the last year. I had 3 and she wanted to know which rental would I like her to put the first month of free rental toward. She then spoke with my fiancÃ© about it while I was trying to unloaded the 10' truck we had returned. Now the manager has said that you won't stand by your deal of a free month for each one-way rental within the last year.Diana C.

First off the bed of the truck was filled with snow...it took over an hour to clear the snow so that the bed was usable. The contracted rate per mile over 100 miles was was changed at drop off from .39c to .79c. I called to inform about weather conditions and that I would be 2 hours late and they charged me for an entire day. My contract rate was $285 for a pickup truck and trailer. My final bill was $730...I made multiple calls to Uhaul's and attempted to speak with a manager with no resolution nor follow-up from Uhaul. I've rented with Uhaul's 4 separate times in the past two months and this was by far my worst experience. I'm hoping that someone in senior management will look into this matter and so right by me as a loyal customer of Uhaul.Sheena W.

Your website allowed me to select to check in from my mobile phone. I went to pick up the van. I could find no instructions of how to get my van, so I called U-Haul. Of course i was on hold for 15-20 minutes. Finally someone answered the phone and explained that this location is not equiped to do "mobile check in" regardless of what i had been sold on the internet site. So, I put on my mask and went in. Of course by now there were several people ahead of me and I had to wait another 15-20 minutes. My only other problem is that the tires on the van were not in great shape and the tire pressure alarm was on. They assured me it was "only a sensor". If that's the case then why not fix it. They have a garage. I am checking n/a because there is no maybe box for reccomending.Rebekah Anne B.

Austin letting us get our things out of our U-HAUL was the first break we had all summer. He was a blessing and can't thank him enough. Only complaint I have is that when signing up a new customer for storage rental the times and upgrades should be gone over and just the whole how to should be explained more thoroughly. Just my opinion tho. The day we moved out of the rental they were very busy and another employee took the time to help my husband and I lift a few heavy items and was very helpful. The rental center was understaffed. I tried to contact the center by phone before moving from out of state but could never get through the automated phone system. There is only room to off load one truck at a time. There were several waiting to to off load a truck. While the center is new and very clean it is inefficient. The only setback I encountered was that I was told I could gain access after hours yo my things and when I went after hours I was denied access. The alarm message kept saying the area is closed. Austin Dorsey should be fired. He charged my card without telling me back in 02/03/20 which I was reimbursed for by the owner - still have the email about the incident. Then, when coming to the facility to pick up my uhual to move into my apartment on 07/01/20, Austin Dorsey put me on the red flag/file list; so, I couldn't rent a uhual at first. When the other manager who goes by Red was on the phone with the representative to figure out why it stated "unknown" to rent to me in the computer, Dorsey walked into the facility with another crew member and yelled "Oh lord! not her again!" Cameras can confirm this on 07/01/2020 at 12:30 PM. I kept my cool and didn't say anything back. Dorsey walked to Red's computer monitor instantly, and Red said "can I clear this" to Dorsey, and he stated "I don't care". As i got my keys and was walking to the truck, he told another crew member, "I will just flag her again". This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and an abusive of power.
