My storage apparently was apart of a fire and water damage that we (the customers) didn't find out about until the day after it happened at almost 10pm via an automatic text. I lost so much of my stuff due to the fire and water damage. Furniture, tv, purses, clothes, my degrees and so much more. Most greatly I lost things that were irreplaceable, like all of the memories and valuables my siblings and I had stored away of our late father, I mourned for days I felt like I was reliving that day I got the news all over again; I was crushed! And all these people could compensate for myself and so many others was 1000 measly dollars. A storage is suppose to be a safe place we're people store their valuables, important documents, and life long treasures not a place where you leave your things only to come back to things being destroyed, damaged or tampered with. I'm still trying to rebuild after that traumatic incident. I pray to God that I'm never in a situation where I'd need these people again because they are cruel, heartless, and highly unprofessional!Angel M. | Overall Experience

The Senior staff at this location are great! However the weekend staff were rude, had a pass the buck attitude to questions, and could not provide any answers. The truck had the wrong ramp with it, the AC did not work, and it's overall mechanical condition was very poor. In fact, one of the Supervisors stated "I don't need this kind of crap" after I turned and started to depart the building. I have rented U-Haul trucks for over 50 years and this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had from this company.Steven T.

I was not aware of the after hours process, I didn't have any instructions on where to leave the key, to take pictures before I locked the vehicle. I was clueless with this process!Chundra T.
It was required that I keep the truck longer than expected. I received several calls from uhaul and the caller was very rude and even hung up on me when I informed them I needed to keep the truck.Richard M.
I never received a call about my reservation like U-Haul said I would, so I had to call in to customer service and sit on the phone for 30 minutes just to be transferred to someone who told me they had changed my pick up location to 15 miles in the wrong direction, and that they were giving me a different sized trailer than I ordered. The woman on the phone made it clear that this was my only option, and we had already made moving plans around this reservation, so I reluctantly said OK. She promised me the location would have a trailer and a furniture dolly (that I paid for up front). I got to the Southaven location the next day for pick up and the man working there said: "we don't have a furniture dolly for you." I explained that we really needed the furniture dolly and were depending on it, that I had already paid for it, and that someone from U-Haul corporate had promised me the equipment was going to be ready for me. He was extremely rude and said: "she can't guarantee you anything she can't see our inventory list." Regarding the payment, he said "no you didn't already pay for it, you pay when you check in." I explained to him that U-Haul.com gave me the option to pay up front to save time at the pick up, and I chose that option. He responded: "they will have to refund you then." So, in short, U-Haul changed my pick up location, changed my trailer size, and did not provide me with a furniture dolly that I already paid for. On top of that, the customer service was AWFUL. Some of the worst customer service I have ever seen in my 29 years on this planet. The attitude was "you're just lucky we're giving you this." I will never use U-Haul again. Ever. You all don't deserve to be in business treating people like garbage and not even delivering the services you advertise. I will be submitting a complaint on the Better Business Bureau about this.Luke K.

I had several TV's and several other things stolen during this time the u haul had a fire insurance adjuster was there to acess water damage adjuster never call i had to call him in the meantime i have tried to file a claim on my TV'S. My drop off location was also changed from what was originally scheduled. I contacted the helpdesk Sunday morning before returning the truck to ensure I was taking it to the right location and I was given the address listed above. When I reached my new drop off location, the building was being evacuated because of a fire at the location. The clerks who worked at the location were very helpful with collecting the truck and sharing details about their emergency check-in procedures, but it was a stressful process for everyone involved. Approximately an hour after the drop off, I received a call from a completely different location asking that I drop off the truck at their site. I explained that the truck had already been returned and the caller instructed me to call the helpdesk to ensure that my truck had been turned in. I again call the helpdesk, spoke to the same representative I'd spoken to earlier that morning, and she said she was unable to confirm if my truck had been turned in. She further explained that she believed it would be and advised that I check my email inbox for a final receipt. From pick up to drop off, I spoke to the U Haul helpdesk over 5 times and experienced poor customer service and little to no help.Jessica W.

There was a fire???? And the sprinklers went off and flooded the bottom floor. We weren't able to go in for 2 days. When we were able to go in there were still puddles of water on the floor which was dangerous. The air was not working. It was suffocating. By the end of the day they had set up dehumidifiers and fans. They did have help to empty your units and help you but if you valued your belongings you did it yourself. This was horrible. It seems to me uhaul fills like if you have things in storage it is not valuable to you. I have always used uhaul and I will never again.. it is not due to the employees at this facility but because of corporate and their risk management team. So, I rented the $19.95 per day van. I picked up the vehicle at 7:30 PM Friday, returned by 2:00 PM Saturday, the next day. I got charged for 2 rental periods. As far as I know a day is 24 hours, but maybe its that new math. In my opinion, the per mile charge was excessive at $.69 a mile. In total, this amounted to about the same as the double period rental rate. While the van was not filthy dirty, I returned it cleaner than it was when I picked it up. So, in the end, my $50.00 rental ended up costing me just over a $100.00. I don't normally rent from this location, but it was the only location in the area that had vehicles to rent. The next time I need to rent a vehicle for a move, I'll think long, very long and hard about doing so if this is the only location that has vehicles available.James A.

The U-box service is very convenient and easy to reserve. However, it was incredibly frustrating/time-consuming to confirm drop-off and delivery of the U-box with local dispatch both in Memphis and South Bend. All orders should include direct phone/contact information for local dispatch and/or the assigned driver and not just a general UHaul phone number where wait times can exceed 30 minutes. I shipped thousands of $$ worth of personal items over 500 miles and had no idea when it would be delivered to my destination because I had little to no contact with local dispatch. UHaul customer service could only tell me that the driver would be in contact. A better system for drop-off, pick-up and delivery that focuses on the customer/client is needed ASAP. ¡Gracias!Amelia T.

Had issues when I received the vehicle. Paperwork stated 7/8 of a tank and it was below 3/4 tank. The pictures on all sides of the truck were not accurate. I was in the process of going around taking pictures to upload them and was told â€œyou don't need to do that since it's an in town rental and ur not going out of townâ€. Make sure that the check-in process is complete with each customer and allow each customer to receive a receipts with each transaction. I was told I did not have to complete my return at the counter. The technician said my vehicle was checked in by him. After returning home I reached out to the corporate office I later discovered that my vehicle was not checked in. Luckily the Uhaul location was not closed yet and I was able to go back to the store to rectify the matter. So what I learned from this situation is to obtain a receipt.KARLISHA N.

The location itself was fine but the customer service I received was not up to par. I was told when booking over the phone that I would be receiving a 15' truck and that it came equipped with straps. They said that I would receive a call the day before to set up a time and discuss if I wanted any additional equipment like dolleys. Instead they told me that I only had the option of a 20' truck despite agreeing on a 15' truck a month in advance. Upon pick up they told me that the truck didn't come with straps which was now a bigger issue due to the larger truck than I agreed upon. When asking about this I was met with a response of frustration and passive aggression. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location due to this interaction and wishing no one to have to deal with that attitude during a stressful move.Braden K.

We used UHaul for storage and for truck/equipment rental. While the truck was missing the equipment when we initially got it, they remedied that issue immediately!
