Our storage building was broken into and no one from the facility contacted us to tell us. We went by one night to get something out of storage and found out our lock had been changed. It was after office hours so we had to come back the next day to find out why and to get in. That's when they told us they had some break-ins. They acted like it was no big deal and when we questioned them on why they didn't contact us they didn't say anything. Several things were stolen from our building. And if we filed a police report I'm sure we would never see these things again because we have no idea how long ago this happened because no one from the facility contacted us. Moving accessories were not available as order online. I even called a couple of days in advance to verify. No appliance dolly or furniture dolly were available.Janece P.
We reserved a pick up truck with a trailer at the New Albany location. We were told we would receive a confirmation phone call on Wednesday. We received no call. Once we got the email confirmation it told us we had to go to this location (farther from our house - more money per mile and for gas). When we got there (after my husband stood in line for almost an hour) they gave us a big box truck and a trailer - once we asked about it they said they don't do pickup trucks at that location. We complained because the location we were going to was small and we're nervous to drive such a huge truck there. We KNEW what we needed and reserved what we needed. It took us 2 hours to maneuver the box truck up and down a tiny drive way. We called trying to get assistance and were on hold For a ridiculous amount of time. Our very simple move took 3x as long due to the truck. When we talked to several friends - they all said they had similar experiences with U-Haul. The worst part was that when we returned the giant truck, there were several pick up trucks (the employee said â€œwe don't do pick up trucks here.â€ Overall a very unnecessarily frustrating situation!Zachary P.

I bought a XL wardrobe box, we did not have it overloaded, but the bar of it bent right in half, clearly it was defective. I am hoping that they will give me another bar when I take it in and show them as we really need this wardrobe box. but it was very upsetting when we got home to find all my sons work DRESS SUITS in a pile with a bent bar that just let them all fall down. That's a LOT of Drycleaning or pressing that now sadly has to be REDONE!!! Not happy about that one!!Matthew W.

The man who helped me at the pickup location was great, but there is something VERY wrong with the scheduling system online. I had to correct my pickup and drop-off information TWICE by calling corporate and still ON THE DAY OF MY MOVE the information was wrong. I did not receive a call or email telling me the truck I scheduled for wasn't available at the location I was picking up from, and instead scheduled my pickup at a location much farther away than I was moving from without my consent. The man who helped me at my pickup location actually saved the day for me.Jessica B.

I had mice in my storage unit which got into all my storage boxes. I've had to disinfect and clean a huge number of boxes that had priceless items stored within them. This infestation occurred early on and there was obviously a large number of mice. I mentioned the mice to the staff.l, but all they said is they would set traps outside the unit and that was it. The price for my unit was rather high for storage. I missed one payment on time one time and paid it within days of missing. They sent me at least 5 letters in the mail about the same issue. I am amazed to be asked to rate my experience, both because the location is aware of the disastrous outcome of my stay and the total indifference to the situation exhibited at the time. The unit I rented, 264, was broken into and items taken. The replacement value of the stolen items, $450-500, far exceeds the difference I would have paid at a more reliable storage facility. No effort was made to inform me of the theft, nor any offer made to review the video record that is supposedly kept. When I discovered the break-in the staff acknowledged it but could not tell me exactly when it occurred, despite ubiquitous signage about "24-hour monitoring" and "no access without authorization". I don't expect any response or further action, given the lack of response when the theft was relatively fresh, but I will certainly not recommend or endorse this location.Rodger M. | Overall Experience

Had over $13,000 worth of sneakers stolen from my unit. My lock wasn't tampered with. The walls in the unit don't even come up all the way to the ceiling, so people can go over the wall from unit to unit without even having to enter through the front. Absolutely ridiculous. Several times during my rental interval, the gate was broken on the open position. Durinq the business day, the gate was left open. The unit had debris on the floor when I moved in and more debris, a mud dauber's nest, and numerous spider webs as the doors Were not wind proof, and the latching often stuck. I had items stolen out of my storage unit. I went to tell the people in the office and they told me it has been happening lately and all I can do is call the police to file a police report. No customer service at all, not an I'm sorry that happened or anything. Every time, I went to my storage unit there was always trash just laying outside of it for weeks.
