The service at this location was excellent, and I had no complaints at all, except that the location is very difficult to get into (especially in my pickup pulling a large trailer) and the parking lot was so small that it was very difficult to maneuver. I know space is limited where they are; it just seems to me a better location should have been chosen. Otherwise, great experience.

Reserved 2 dozen blankets. When I got there they said they only had 2 bags of six. When opened the bags, one bag was short (only 5 blankets and they were wet -- Don't take a reservation for something you cannot deliver.

I picked the vehicle up with 3/4 of a tank of gas and spoke with the employee there as the sheet she handed me showed 7/8th. She explained she would handle it tomorrow upon my return as it was in fact showing 3/4 tank. When I looked at my final bill I noticed a surcharge for 5.5gallons. I emailed to see what this was for but have yet to hear back.

My fuel meter was incorrect. I was told that it was suppose to be on fuel but instead it was a notch away from full. The lady that was at the desk was professional and kind but ppl need to have the same work ethic as her. She was awesome!! Other than that yall charge too much....lol

This is an excellent U-Haul only location. The staff person was very friendly and helpful. The only potential problem is not enough room to pull large vehicles into the parking lot. Thankfully, before attempting to pull into the parking lot, we found the only parking space available (behind a fleet of smaller U-Haul street-parked vehicles) on the busy Arthur Ashe Boulevard that could handle the 26-ft truck.

Such a bad experience at: 1716 E Cary St, Richmond, VA 23223 I had the reservation but they did not help me inspite of the fact I had express check-in and they has 2 cargo vans at their location. Will NEVER use UHAUL and will advise other NOT to use it as well as put the same comment in YELP so no one uses it. The unit at "1716 E Cary St, Richmond, VA 23223" should be Out of Business, will write the email to the CEO of UHAUL also.

It took Wednesday and Thursday to put towing equipment into suv. Then had to bring it back on Saturday to finish up. Went in on July 9 to get a ball. they gave me wrong ball and insert even as they looked at our order. Sent man back in there to get correct ball assembly. They said the man who can operate the equipment would not be back for 2-3 days. I went in very frustrated.i went in today and raise my voice in frustration. Cameron refused to help me because I had raised my voice. I lowered my voice and he still refused to help me. I specifically got this hook for my daughters car as I no longer have an SUV. I have a 30,000$ airstream I am trying to sell and I cannot do that until I have it checked out at RV place 20 miles away. Stuart Trope 8044269950

I made a reservation for a 15 ft truck for pickup at 4511 W Broad St Richmond for 1300 30 June. I received an email the morning of the scheduled pickup that the location was moved; the email stated "15' Moving Van reserved for you and guaranteed Sunday, 6/30/2019 at 1:00 PM. We are located at 2930 N ARTHUR ASHE BLVD, RICHMOND, VA 23230". When I arrived at this location I was told there was no vehicle for me and none of any size available. After over 30 minutes wait on the phone for someone to answer the phone, I was told there was a truck available at 3990 E Williamsburg Rd, Sandston, VA 23150, which is 19 miles further away. When I departed this location there were over 10 people waiting in line behind me as there was only one person available to work at a location that is both vehicle rental and a storage facility. Arriving at the Sandston location 30 minutes later, I was told I was the second person of the day sent by U-Haul for that vehicle however it was not there and there were no 10 ft nor 15ft trucks available at that location. After over 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone, I was told to return to the 2930 N ARTHUR ASHE BLVD U-Hual location as a vehicle was now available. After another 45 minute drive, I was finally able to rent the vehicle that was supposed to be ready at 1300 (1:00 PM), except it was now 4:30 PM and we had lost 3 hours of time plus being driven nearly 40 miles out of town and back. In all a very poor service experience, both in failing to provide the "guaranteed reservation" and in failing to have a sufficient number of people available to handle the numbers of people at the 2930 N ARTHUR ASHE BLVD location and to answer the phones at Central Dispatch and to work in locations when there were problems on a busy Sunday.

Pick up the phone. Tried to call this location at least 5 times with questions about billing. Each time I sat on hold for 20 minutes, was forwarded to customer service who told me to call the local store, which is what I tried to do in the first place. Also was charged $5 for furniture pads that were not in the truck. Terrible experience.

I rented a u-haul moving truck from 2pm- 8pm to move my things into a climate controlled unit. I was uninformed by the associate who rented me the truck and set up my free one month storage about the indoor climate controlled storage units only being opened during business hours. When i tried to move my things in at 5:15pm, the store employee then informed me about it only being opened during business hours and that he was leaving. I tried calling the support team to see what could be done and was on hold for 30+ minutes.

CodeVA is a regular customer of this location, and rents multiple storage spaces here to store teacher training supplies. However, this truck rental experience was not at all acceptable. The rental was reserved by me a full two weeks before the truck - a 10-foot box truck was to be picked up. The rental was from Wednesday morning to the following Saturday at 10 am, and this was confirmed by the phone assistant, who was very professional. When we arrived at the location to pick up the truck, however, initially it was insisted that we had reserved a small van, which was not at all large enough for our purposes. The attendant finally conceded to giving us a 10-foot box truck, but insisted it had to be returned the following day. This rental was for the purpose of a cross-state trip to deliver training supplies to five state agency locations where we will be conducting free teacher training in computer science that is paid for and mandated in law by the Virginia General Assembly. This law was cited by Amazon in its recent decision to move its HQ2 to Virginia. Our itinerary for the one day of loading and two-day trip was to travel east to Suffolk, west to Danville and then to Abingdon, then northeast to Roanoke and finally to Harrisonburg before returning to Richmond. This trip is impossible to make in a single day. Unfortunately, I - the executive director of the organization who had made the reservation for the van - was unavailable to speak to the Uhaul location manager, as I was conducting a four-hour meeting and presentation with school board officials, followed by a meeting with another key stakeholder. By the time I was able to call at 1:30 pm., my employees - four of them plus a volunteer - had sat idle for five hours, uncertain whether they should load the truck for fear that they'd have to unload it and abort the trip because of the UHaul insistence that the truck be returned the following day. Amazingly, when I got on the phone with the location manager and explained why the truck was needed and what was at stake, and explained that the error was not ours, but was UHaul's, she made no more objections and extended the rental immediately to Saturday at 10 a.m. We loaded the truck and I called to complain about the effective loss of a full 7 hours of loading time - by the time we were able to secure the truck, a number of the employees who'd been scheduled to load that morning had gone home and had to come back and work overtime in the late heat of the day to load the truck. I was told I would get a call sometime within 24 hours from the manager of the store. I did not. I called from the road on Thursday preemptively, and was told I would receive a call from someone who was identified as being the equivalent of a district manager. Today is Sunday, and I have not yet received that call. I'm very disappointed in UHaul's error and in its response to that error. You have cost my nonprofit organization money, and you created uncertainty a
