Recliner covered in rat feces and urine plus a dead rat. Vacuum hose eaten by rats. Unit filled with rat feces. I fear what may await in boxes yet to be opened. The office at the storage facility was closed, and we had to drive to the office at Broad St. The staff there were very helpful, but we had to spend a couple of hours finding an available unit. It was ridiculous. I would have gone somewhere else, but we were on a ltime crunch and didn't have a choice. Very unhappy with the storage facility. The unit we finally found was full of cat litter, as well. Ridiculous. The only positive thing about the experience was the staff, who were wonderful.Laura C. | First Impressions

Asa the manager was very kind and funny! She took me on a tour and talked to me about all of the improvements and modifications she was executing to make this location safer and more manageable. Online check in was very convenient, but directions were not clear until you watched a video. The facility itself was very inconvenient. For a complex of about 600 interior units to have only 1 loading dock and ~4 moving carts is ridiculous. Employee that handled my haul was very unprofessional and rude after calling an hanging up several times before i can fully answer the phone she then treated me as a criminal like i was going to steal there truck when it had only been 1 hour. She then texted my wife that the cops where involved in the matter. after i had talked to her an said i was cleaning an gasing it an that i would pay the late fee she proceeded to call over an over while i was driving . After arriving she started walking really fast an hostel towards my side of the door demanding that i exited the vehicle while banging on the side of the truck with her keys an knuckles. I remained in the car asking if it was safe for my son an i to exit the vehicle she responded with get out my truck now while banging closer to try an grab the door as to rip me out. I then proceeded to place the truck in reverse an try to leave the area to another uhaul. Then she stood behind the truck forcing me to stop an threatening me not to run her over while running towards my son side to open the door i then locked the other side an said i feel unsafe im leaving now . She proceed to rip at the door while i securely left. This was truly a unexperienced scary experience that I've witnessed an don't want to deal with again while trusting my interests. Had my son crying an me shook i was not rude nor out of control but was treated as such an i feel really crazy, have respect for others but this was not the case for me.Lee A.

Your system was down and your staff was unable to dispatch vehicles on the day of my rental. If it were not for Aja's help and expertise, our day would have gone badly. You need to rethink how your management support its people because the employees at this location were thrown under the proverbial bus. There was a better solution to the problem but your district / area manager failed miserably by doing nothing to help this location's manager and employees. Upon arrival I was informed by the U-haul representative that the system and internet were down and that I would need to finish the process myself online, this wasn't a very big inconvenience for me but what was very disappointing was finding out my van did not have working AC. Absolutely horrible experience. Driver side door wouldn't open so I had to climb across a row of seats from the passenger side for 16 hours of moving. The window crank was on the floor of the driver side. The truck was completely on E and had no gas when I got it. And to make matters so much worse, when returning the vehicle after hours, their mobile app didn't allow me to take and upload any pictures to finish the return. I had to get a friend to come to the uhaul location at 2am in the morning with an iPhone, download the uhaul app and do the photo uploading for me so I could go home after moving for 16 hours! Absolutely unacceptable and I want my money back. Horrendous experience and I will never rent a truck from uhaul again. Stay away from this place!Jordan H.
I know this isn't location specific, but my experience checking in my vehicle was a disaster. I was told that since I was returning my vehicle after hours, I would have to complete the check in process on my mobile device. When I was prompted to share my location, I received a message that it wasn't able to see my location. I checked that it was turned on, and still the website was unable to see my location. and therefore was unable to move me on to the next step of checking in my vehicle. I called the number listed on my contract and was told that I had no choice but to either share my location or download the app. I downloaded the app, (which took several minutes in a parking lot with no internet connection) and it failed to open over and over again. My point is that I should not have to be an IT expert to check in my uhaul vehicle. I should be able to leave the keys in the box and park my vehicle and leave. Why is sharing my location necessary? If my personal car is at the location, why would I try to leave my uhaul vehicle anywhere else? It simply makes no sense. The fact that I was charged an additional fee for uhaul employees to do the next day what your poorly set up after hours check in process wouldn't allow me to do is taking advantage of me as a customer. Is that not what your employees are already paid to do in the first place? This experience was enough for me to never rent from uhaul again.COLLEENDUGAN C.
The location was fine but it was 60 miles away from where I scheduled the truck pick up. The original contract was for pick up in Williamsburg, Va and the actual pick up was in Richmond, Va. This resulted in my 2 day one way contract with 143 miles being a 1 day contract with 82 miles. I was not told this. It resulted in a 1 extra day of rental and 55 extra miles added on because UHaul changed the pick up location. I am not disposed to use your services again after this experience since my final bill was much higher than expected.RONALDHARLAN R.

The young lady that assisted me was wonderful but she was the only person until a man came in to help. He was complaining about being there on his day off and was very agitated and rude to me. My Reservation was for 1 pm and I did not leave with the truck until 2:25 pm. This is undoubtedly the worst experience I have ever endured with UHaul. The tire monitoring light was on the whole time. We kept checking the tires to see if one was going flat. None were. I mentioned this to the guy at the uhaul place and he said it's a malfunctioning light. You should fix this because it caused us a great deal of anxiety while driving your truck.Elizabeth T.

The self checkin and drop off was not working on the uhaul website. I was unable to verify my location during pick up and drop off. Luckily there was a manager on duty when I picked up to help me manually checkin through her computer. When I dropped off, I tried multiple times to verify my location. I had no other choice than to just leave the truck there and I was charged the $20 convenience fee for dropping off after hours. Uhaul needs to get this looked at because I turned it in on time but the website failed verifying the location services. I would like a refund of the $20 convenience fee.KRISTENGAIL B.

When I went to the location to pick up the truck, I had one of the worst customer services experiences I have ever had with an employee. After explaining to me what I needed to do, she asked me a few questions and was extremely short and the tone in her voice was completely unacceptable. I would describe it as aggressive. It even got to the point where the employee suggested, again in her aggressive tone, "I'm going to need you to calm down", when I was simply answering the question as requested. She later asked to see my phone to see if I completed the check in, and my hands where shaking from the frustration I had with this individual. I unfortunately do not remember the name of the employee but she was the only employee working at this location, in the morning of July 26th. I would suggest she receive disciplinary actions for this, as well as a change of positions, as this individual is not fit to work a customer facing job.Elizabeth C.

Great service by staff. I had an unfortunate mix up that involved me walking in the blazing heat from another uhaul. The staff realized this, prepared some chilled water, and made sure my check-in experience took less than 3 minutes. Very satisfied by their hospitalityJOHNBACHMAN K.
I just wanted to shout-out an associate for amazing customer service. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but she was a young, skinny black woman with a roughly nine year old daughter. Sunday morning, there was a line of people backed up waiting to rent and a relatively new associate Travis was taking a while with one customer. This woman came in around 9:30, and I got the distinct impression she wasn't actually on the clock. Nevertheless, she jumped in and started working two computers and helping two customers simultaneously, getting people out to vans. She worked really fast and busted her ass helping me carry stuff to my rental when it was my turn. I was really impressed with her work ethic, and she made the renting experience very special. Management was helpful and customer service was really good. UHAUL should ensure the location assigned has the correct equipment on hand. Better communication between reservation department and the customer, corporate and management regarding rental policy. FIX the website!!! Call-in reservations cannot be accessed thru the app or website. This move was extremely frustrating and upsetting. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND UHAUL FOR ANY MILITARY PCS DITTY MOVES AT ALL!EDWIN L.

The truck was in poor condition and was very slow to accelerate and was very noisy. When I opened up the back I found that it was filled with trash and loose clothing from the previous user before me. I then had to take the time to clear out the back of truck and throw out the trash instead of proceeding with my move which threw off my schedule. In addition the self pick up did not work, which caused me to have to go inside to pick up the keys which I did not want to do during the pandemic. When I returned the truck parking was extremely difficult in the narrow parking lot and angled spaces,, and the key drop off was unclear as it seemed to be behind a shelf of boxes. I was very disappointed with this experience and will choose to use other locations and moving options in the futureROBERTALEXANDER C.

The only problem I encountered was that I had to buy a lock from this facility, even though I had high security locks in my possession at the time. I don't think they should be able to force a $15.00 lock on a person when there are cheaper, just as good, locks on the market. I did find the staff friendly and helpful and I know they can't help it but i feel it would do a great customer service if gutters were attached to the units to prevent being dripped on from rain or melting snow. It makes it uncomfortable to be dripped on or my items getting wet because of the drip.Aldo D. | First Impressions
