Survey doesn't capture problem I had...which is probably a UHaul issue than one of the Uhaul franchise/private location. We ontracted UHaul for door-to-door U Pack service. Everything went great on the origin end but the destination facility could not complete the contract as the U Pack box was too heavy for their forklift. We had to rent a truck, unload the UPack box at the Sanford location, load the truck and then unload the truck at the house. Why did the St. LOUIS facility have the appropriate equipment and not Sanford? I would have selected another shipping method if I knew this was going to happen.Bill K.
I originally asked for the unit that's close to the entrance and they did have it so I decided this faculty. However when they signed me up the unit that's still got lock from the previous customer. I had to go back the customer service and they changed the unit to the one very far from the entrance. I had to give up moving more stuff yesterday because they said they will move me to the one that's got a lock as soon as they cut the lock. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. When I Dropped off the truck, the owner of this location was the one receiving the trucks being dropped off. Would have never known he was owner (I noticed name tag said owner), he was polite, out wiring along side co-workers in 95 degree heat. Nice to see an owner leasing by example! I have 2 locations within 2 miles of my house and I'll drive to this one every time (this location is 15-20 min from my house). Perfect experience!RYAN R.

Everything was fine until my u boxes arrived at my new home. They were delivered on a trailer as requested, however after the we dropped in my driveway and I started to unload 1 of the boxes was on backwards and could not unload it as the door was up against the other box. After calling about the problem. It was then 6 days before it could be picked up taken back turned to correct position and returned to me . We have had good luck in the past over all with uhaul, but I would not recommend that location. Walking in to reserve a trailer was very slow, it was close to closing and there were more concerned about closing up. The 5x8 trailer they gave me needed a lot of work before renting it out. Burnt out tail lights on one side. The lever to open the back gate was so rusted when I got it home I had to use WD40 to unlatch the door, raise it enough to crawl inside to lube the wheels on the on the roll up door. The door was totally locked up about a quarter of the way open. Did not realize had had no break lights till we were on the road. The trailer trailed great just was not road ready to be rentedAl H.
Every human being I encountered was great, from telephone support to Angelo at Get It Done movers, to U-Haul in Toledo area. Everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The online and app need work (it double booked a pod and movers, would not let me put drop off instructions or pictures in even though it was requesting them,etc...) Those problems were all but erased by the humans I dealt with. Thank you!!Keith N.

My experience with the front desk was excellent and professional, but the service done by the gentleman that hooked the UV7426c equipment was not done correctly with the safety standards of the DOT by leaving the chain link hanging on the trailer. That about 200 miles into the trip the chain link was broken because was dragging on the paving, that would cause an accident but since I'm an OSHA certified I was able to check it before that happened, Safety First is the most important in any equipment or vehicle rental. I'm a U-HAUL customer since 1988 because I always rent your vehicle during Christmas for peak season in UPS. I was able to stop in Alabama in one of your service center. The fact that I had to inspect a vehicle and compare what I found, to what they showed in the photos is a joke. The truck that they showed me didn't have dents and scratches in it, but then I had to show photographs that the truck did have dents and scratches in it and they acted like they couldn't give a shit. Alarm system annoying, very inconvenient to access the unit if you are by yourself loading it up having to swipe a key every time. Hate having to have a reference on file, especially when I wanted to pay several months in advance. Owner made me use my own phone to upload driver's license. Really don't like the process. it was the worst experience. I surrendered the key and kept truck in front of office on 3/17 before 10pm. But I got called from the store manager saying that they have not received the key and truck. I was surprised and depressed.He called me to the store. I had to travel 20 miles and when I came @10:15AM on 3/18, the truck was there and manager told me yes it is here. I asked him why did you call me or when you got the key/truck why did not you called and told me. He does not have any answer but said some thing rude and told something. I requested him to give customer care number for Uhaul and I registered a complaint for my time and gas and the way of talking for that manager. My whole Uhaul experience was a disaster from start to finish. The truck I reserved was MIA and I wasn't notified. I found out by calling to confirm less than 12 hours from my pickup time. I was transferred multiple times to multiple locations and eventually ended up in Sanford, about an hour in the wrong direction for the only 20ft in the area. The truck was cleanish but needed an alignment and new rotors and pads. Terrifying to drive over 65 mph. Drop off was no better, assigneda returnlocation 45 minutes awayfrom the destination. Called to see if anythingwas closer the day of and low and beholdthere was a location 4 miles away. Fillled tank well over where we got it and still charged $20 in gas by the location. The only advice I have is be more upfront about the price. The initial price to ship doesn't include drop-off and pickup of the box at each end. That should be included. It starts feeling like an airline experience where you have a price for flying and then discover you owe hundreds more for bags and seats. Otherwise, this UHaul experience is the best business transaction I've had in a very long time. Communication was excellent and having good smart humans at the other end of the phone made all the difference. Not sure how to rate whether "the equipment was clean and well maintained". When I checked in I was shown, via my cell phone, the "condition" of the vehicle. Essentially I was shown pictures of a brand new van. And what I had in front of me was no way close to being "new". Door dings, some liquid stain on the rubber interior mat, etc. It was crazy what I was shown on my cell phone and what I was renting. I cannot say it was specifically this location or a general corporate thing UHaul does with their rentals. Additionally, I had rented from one location but the day before my pick-up I was called and was told the van would not be there but that I could go to another location which did have a van. I was offered nothing in return for this inconvenience. This second location meant more mileage I had to pay for during my rental term. The first location couldn't source the van from the second location? Customer service 101? Again this could be a UHaul corporate thing. Overall the van rented started when I wanted it to and worked fine. No mechanical issues with the rental so I was able to do what I wanted it to do. This was probably the most inconvenient move I have had. I put a reservation for truck two weeks ago I get to the location they don't have it I get sent to Sanford and I am in Winter Park so that's 45 minutes one-way in the opposite direction secondly, I lost an hour from my movers because of this and they weren't able to stay because they had other jobs so I only had one hour with my movers, this was a very inconvenient time. I also had 99 miles to drive had that location had my truck I would be within that 99 miles however I am not with that 99 miles now because I had to go out of my way to get this truck I am very unhappy at the moment.JAMES T.

Ensure vehicle is clean and in good condition. Have better control of reservations. I had a reservation, it was about 8 miles away, then half way there I got an email telling me I had to drive nearly 2 hours away to pick it up. Terrrible service in my opinion. I used the U-Haul website to hire moving help. I would have expected that U-Haul would have vetted those on their website better, as it was a HORRIBLE experience and as such reflected poorly on U-Haul as a whole. As a result, I'm less likely to go with U-Haul next time I move, choosing Ryder or some other such company, insteadRod L.
The staffs there are not friendly and helpful, we picked up the car and the check engine lights came on , we had to return back to the store and then they topped the engine with oil but my question is why give out a car that wasn't serviced? Wasted our time and all , then the car it self needs wheel alignment, the wheels / tires are bad , nearly caused an accident, the steering wheel keeps flying off the road , keeps swerving off the road ,you need to hold the steering with both hands and somuch muscles, it was a terrible journey with the particular vehicle, never had this sort of experience with uhaul before, and the attendant said it was half tank of gas in the car during pickup only for us to get into the car realized that the gas left was less than half tank 1/2 , so it was not a good experienceObianujunwa N.

Several weeks ago I reserved a 10 x 10 unit for my daughter who I was helping to move back from Tennessee. I called several times to confirm the reservation. On 12/30, I phoned from Atlanta, Georgia and informed the location that traffic was terrible and I wouldn't make it to Orlando until the 31st, the reservation was changed to the 31st. I offered a credit card number over the phone, but was told that wasn't necessary. We arrived at the facility on the 31st with a 26 ft UHaul I rented in TN, only to be told that the computer had changed our reservation to two 5 x 10 ft units. We were told the square footage was the same and that it would work for us. We opened one of the units and could not envision getting everything inside the two units. We returned to the office and were assisted by another person. He insisted there were no other units available, although the facility at 1811 Rhinehart Road had a 10 x 20 unit available and due to everything that we had experienced with UHaul (Being the storage facially and truck rental, which is another terrible experience) he would ensure that they gave us that unit at the cost of a 10 x 15 ft unit. He told us all we had to do was drive there and give them our names, he would call them and make the arrangements. When we arrived at the 1811 Rhinehart Road facility we were informed that there were no units available. An employee then deleted another person's reservation for a 10 x 20 unit and said we could have it. The manager then arrived and stated that she had spoken with the employee at the other location and had told him that she did not have an available unit and began speaking with her employee as to her cancellation of the other person's unit. My daughter then obtained a 10 x 10 unit at non-Uhaul location which cost her an additional $60.00 a month. I have been kind and refrained from including the employees first names in this email. I received another email from Uhaul asking us to rate our experience and included the General Managers name and email address. This center booked me a storage unit without having one, took my money out of my account and gave me a card and all for the building. I witnessed an employee give great service in showing a customer on her first check in. It tells me my value in Florida as a black person in doing service with this location. Everything about this moving experience, regarding U-Haul was a mess!! The only reason we had this storage facility, was because the one we originally reserved didn't have what we reserved in the first place?!! So then that other facility "reserved" an additional unit at this facility, and it turns out they didn't really reserve it and this facility didn't even have what we were after again. Personally I'll try to avoid U-Haul at all costs going forward! This was the short version, I could have gone on for quite a while about this fiascoTOM T. | Overall Experience

The facility it self was well maintained but the storage unit had roaches I called several times to get someone to exterminate. Never received a call back from the store manager or anyone. I moved out 15 days after I had paid the months storage and did not get a prorated rate. I also used a uhaul truck to move out. I have used uhaul for many years but I think I will from now on use another storage facility and rental truck place!CHARLOTTE M. | Overall Experience
