I had reserved a 20-footer for Saturday July 17th at 10:00 a.m. however when I got there, there was no truck available for me. I had the manpower and the time reserved and because of this I got thrown way off track. Not once did I get a call assuring me that a truck would be available. Sunday morning I called to see if there was one available and there was but it was smaller it was 15 ft. When I got home with it the ramp was stuck and did not work and inside the truck was very dirty on the wall it looked like dry blood. So that was returned to get another one because of the ramp. I was hoping to get a discount or some kind of compensation for my aggravation. I will be renting another truck later this week in hopes that I'm compensated somehow to make up for Saturdays and Sundays issues.. Thank you very much, Gina McGinness 603-777-2183GINA M.

The web-based self-check-in needs a major do-over! It ruins the CX at the start. It's slow, tedious & unstable (the page hung when trying to submit a photo.) It offloads tasks an agent could handle quickly entirely onto the customer. I would only use it again if a location was very, very busy and agents were unavailable.RIchard N.

I did not like that you had to take a dolly and blanket in the truck. I understand that I would not be charged unless I broke the seal however it was another item to work around when loading. I asked for a different truck and was told that all the trucks had the dollies. I mentioned that I had rented multiple times point to point over the last 2 years and none of the trucks had these. The response was: â€œout of town trucks don't have the dollies and blanketsâ€. So they are available!! Just after being told that they all have the dollies. No one EVER answers the phone, and if they do, they don't know anything and tell you to call someone else! Today I would have had to wait an hour for someone to pick up the phone (automated machine told me). Plus, my "free lock" was NOT placed in my unit like they said they would. The air conditioning in the truck did not work properly. It would only go out of the windshield vents above a certain speed. There was not way to adjust the volume on the radio. The padlock did not work. - it would not lock. The armrest on the driver side seat was broken. Overall, the truck was poorly maintained. I feel like I was badly overcharged. This facility is clean and convenient. The Manager (Adrian) is knowledgeable and the remainder of the staff (Alex) struggle, for example my reserved storage unit wasn't really reserved, and my unused cardboard box return which had been purchased earlier in the day was returned with a receipt, and yet I got a shrug of the shoulders and "something is wrong and we can't give you a return receipt but the money _should_ return to your CC in a few weeks", from the same employee who incorrectly told me my unit was reserved a few weeks ago. I had a small problem with the way the contact was made the agent in Saulsberry mass For whatever reason put down the return place in Illinois as Dalton is about 45-50 miles from East Dundee Illinois I ask him why are you put in Bolton as my equipment return please he said don't worry when you get to where you're going you called is one 800 number and they will tell you where to return the equipment when I got to East Dundee I called her number and they were very nice but said to me you made a contract when it tells you you returned equipment to Dalton Illinois and if you don't return the equipment to Dalton Illinois you may Charge because you cannot leave the equipment anywhere you please I said I'm not leaving the Equipment anywhere I please i'm calling you to tell me where to return the equipment she said your contract says Dalton Illinois and that's why you have to return it I explain that's A long way from here he said nothing I can do that's what your contract says as a Salisbury told me to call this number and you will tell me where to take the equipment she said that's not the way we do business you have a contract you returned equipment with the contact of you I call Salsberry mass they told me he was wrong did that was an open contract and the they they supposed to tell me where to take the equipment because then in Salsburry mass Was making an open contract and the one 800 well if people they will tell me where to take the trailer turn the conversation with both salsburry mass and the 800 number they make me feel like an idiot believing the salesman in Massachusetts and now having to travel from East Dundee through downtown Chicago to return the trailer the people in Massachusetts he never making up a contract later then and tell the people the truth that when they finish with the trailer they may have to travel and long distance to return the equipment 50 miles I don't think if something fair to the customer and then not allowing me to say nothing when we talking is the rude with that I'm happy to say the lady in the one 800 allow me to return the trailer 8 miles away from where I was and I have to say thank you for that but he says that was a favor to me from the company I believe it was the right thing to do Overall I have to say thank you and I am not mad just a little disappointed on the misunderstanding but I learn something if it's not written down in paper didn't didn't happenRamon C.

STOP putting a phone number on the bottom of the contract stating it goes to the person who has handled the rental at the place of pickup of truck/van. THAT phone number does NOT go to the person designated, Adrian, as he said it would. When I could not get the key to turn in the ignition, because of a lock that automatically gets set if you push a botton by mistake during handling of the key, I was UNABLE to call the number and reach anyone. Only to be put ON HOLD. Your ON HOLD is trouble and YOU MUST do something about it. THAT button on the key needs explanation when the truck is being rented!!! please START today to solve this problem that should not be a problem at all!!Leslie N.

Only difficulty was not with this location but with the app. Trying to make a reservation within the app is next to impossible given how it shuts down and sends you back to square one over & over. Reserving on the website works, but then the app REFUSES to merge said reservation onto the existing account. Go to return the truck, & the app insists that you never rented one. When I picked up the equipment at 5:45 PM, the two employees were complaining to each other about how late they were working, made me feel very uneasy, they also just pointed out to the parking lot when I asked for directions to the truck. I understand that times are tough for hiring people, but you may want to explain the concept of the customer service to new employees. When I returned the truck, the place was closing so the (same) employee told me just to deposit the keys in the lock box and I would get a email the next day with the total (never got that email by the way). He neglected to tell me to go to the website BEFORE returning the keys - after the fact, I assume they wanted the $20 fee to check in the truck, a little unethical- i did take a photo of the mileage and fuel level before I locked the truck and put the key in the drop box. Seeing the website on the drop box when I dropped in the key, I went home and tried to put in the information, but it wouldn't accept and info UNTIL I RETURNED TO THE U-HAUL LOCATION. back at U-Haul, the app asked me for photos of the mileage and fuel level which I could not attach, and photos of the cab which was previously locked. So in summary, incorrect instructions from the employee as to how to return the truck via the app, and a poorly designed app. Happy with the truck, unhappy with the employee and the app. I work in a technical business, if our app was as poor as the U-Haul app, we would be out of business. Suggest you get your app people to actually rent and return a truck and see how poorly it works,JOHN S.

I have used this place before and had no problems. This time the truck was dirty and reaked of smoke. The fuel tank light was on. I was told if I returned the vehicle with 1/4 tank I would receive a credit to the overall bill. The last bill I have seen has not been adjusted for the credit.DANIEL B.

I was directed to the wrong truck and don't know how the key started it but it did. After loading the key no longer worked. When I called and reported their error they did not bring me the key for the truck I was told to take. Truck was parked sandwiched between rows of other trucks, making pulling out of the parking spot very challenging for a novice truck driver, requiring me to get out multiple times and move the mirrors of other trucks. Unacceptable in my opinion . A truck being rented should be easily available. Furthermore, the dolly that is attached and can only be removed at cost is the most ridiculous thing I've ever encountered. It caused a problem trying to fit our couch into the back. The storage unit rained dead bugs when I opened it, however, the low rating is because I'm being harassed through texts and emails to rate my experience with uhaul. It makes me want to not use uhaul again. I have been renting from this UHaul faithfully for the past four years. I have always had an easy drop off and a clean vehicle. This time I received neither. I had nothing but trouble with the app and the help inside were zero use. Basically left me standing there waiting for something to load. I finally insisted it be processed another way. The vehicle had a service light on which distracted me from checking out the back but when I got home (five minutes away) I called immediately. I took pics and told them the van was filthy The smell was so bad. I asked for another van but they did not have one. Josh said he would take care of me when I returned it. I showed up to return the vehicle and I was told I was all set. They were quite rude. I left and then went back in and said Josh said he would take care of me because I had a flithy van and I did not want you to think it was me. I also had returned it almost three hours early. They just repeated, you are all set you will get a receipt. I did not get one till Tuesday ( I returned the van on Saturday) and there was zero adjustments to my bill or any acknowledgement about my experience. The storage manager was very helpful who is a lady but don't remember her name. But when I went to pick up the truck to empty my storage on the 8th the facility assistant manager who was a gentleman he was very very disrespectful. He takes about the lady who helped me on the 6th real bad he said she should have never do what she did also his inter act with me was awful. My card didn't work to get me back and forth get every trip I made. The guy who was doing the vehicle cleaning etc had to help me. The so called assistant manager was so bad I refuse to ask him any more questions. Don't remember his name but in a rating of 1 to 10 I gave him a -50. I got over charged for a unit the first month that was supposed to be free because I rented a truck. I had a great experience, no complaints at all. Everything was easy and other than one time I had to change out an expired credit card I don't think I ever had to visit the main office but to move in and out for the last five years. I have a Uhaul account and another locker in use. I was simply opening a 2nd locker and the number of questions and requests for 2 back up names and numbers at different addresses to mine seemed very odd. For two years I had oil, pink in color dripping into my unit. Each time I complained, the oil was cleaned, but they never fixed the problem at it's source. Each time claiming they couldn't locate the owner of the init above me. In May 2020, I paid for May & June storage. At end of May myself & husband went to get some items out of the unit. The pink oil was again dripping into my unit. We had to clean it ourselves... then we just took everything out and terminated our storage. I asked for a refund of June rent, I was told I had to speak to the manager, so I left a message for him to call. He never called. I tried calling him and just got a recording with no option to leave a message. The Salisbury UHaul is filthy and there is no resolution to problems... alot of my personal belongings were damaged and had to be discarded.
