Friendly professional team - well organized operation. Installation of an internal platform lift to access second floor storage units - it is ridiculous to expect people to carry there belongings upstairs to access storage rooms, I think it's comical you want to be in storage business invest in internal platform lift !!!!Richard B.
Absolutely with the worst experience I've ever had in my life with moving. U-Haul called me the day before my move and told me they didn't have a truck available anymore. Their reservation system is completely broken, and misleading to customers. I dealt with an appallingly rude and horrible representative on the phone, and had to speak to five different people because U-Haul is not equipped to dealing with regional areas like New England where people are moving through different states. I kept getting transferred back and forth to the â€œMaine representativeâ€ and then the â€œMA representativeâ€ and then the â€œone-way repâ€ and the â€œday pickup repâ€â€¦ each one literally told me that you can't trust the reservation system on their OWN website. What a mess. After over an hour on the phone with them in the middle of packing and moving, we finally were able to get a truck over an hour away, instead of the original location 10 minutes away. Their organizational structure is completely a disaster and they don't care if they screw over their customers during an already a stressful situation. I guess they figure people don't move that often so who caresâ€¦ After this nightmare, I heard from a few friends that they dealt with the same thing at U-Haul, also with the Saco Maine location. When I returned the truck later that afternoon I parked in one of the rows that I took it from originally. Then I went in to return the key. No one was in the office. After 5 mins I went searching for an employee. I saw a line of 3 trucks in the line for cleaning, with one guy working. I yelled over that I returned a truck and pointed at it. He yelled back asking if I would bring it over to his line. It kind of annoyed me. When I put it there he was now in the cab of the first truck in line and either texting or reading. So I went back inside, still no one there, 5 minutes later the car cleaning guy, now finished with his texting, wanders in and like magically turns into the car return guy. It annoyed me more than most because I wait for a new hip and walking is a little painful, so I wished it had gone with less walking to move the truck. The guy who rented it to me was really good. I went to pick up the vehicle a few hours early because I saw a storm coming and I had a 2-hour Drive ahead of me. When I arrived there were six small cargo vans ready to go. When I asked for vehicle the guy said the equipment isn't available. I left and called the U-Haul main office and they changed my pickup time to 1:30 instead of 6. The guy said it was no problem. The the guy at the desk just didn't want to get me a truck for some reason. It cost me an hour of my time and I ended up in this horrible rain storm that I could have avoided. And then I accidentally left the key inside the van. And the van locked itself. AAA refuse to serve anyting U-Haul so I had to go to AAA service and they wanted to charge me $175 to get the key out. And it took 6 hours to get the van unlocked. They don't have a spare key or any way to unlock a vehicle. Worst experience ever I would never rent from them again.CHERYL C.

This place was wonderful and so was the people who registered us and the gentleman who took the van from us but we called three times and when we got there they had no record of us renting the van. I called three times yesterday. Once I got disconnected called back set it up got the text and they had given the wrong location for pick up called again and rescheduled everything and still when I got to the location we were not even registered. Overall a good experience. However when it was time to call up U-Haul to schedule the drop-off of the U-POD, I was placed on hold by two different people for over a total of 26 minutes before I was able to find out when the U-PODS were going to be delivered. There was no option to leave a message for a return call. I suggest that you look in to improving the telephone experience.richard S.
1.) The quoted price is bogus! I reserved a truck for $19.95 w/ $.69/mile. I went 42.8 miles and I ended up paying close to $90?!!! Will think twice @ using UHaul again... 2.) The van reeked of cigarette smoke. I was gagging and ha to open all the windows while driving and it was raining!! I should get a refund. 3.) CSReps could be a little ore helpful during the rental process...Explain charges before I sign anything, give me a paper receipt, show me the vehicle (actually walk me to it and review the damages with me), and actually make eye contact with the customer! 4.) What would you folks do if your customer did not own a Smartphone? You wouldn't be able to do business, apparantly. Remember the less relationship you build with the customer, you are opening up the great chance that the customer will go somewhere else where they feel more welcome. 5.) Why can't I actualy call and talk with the UHaul Store? This is absolutely ridivulous!!! I want to talk with a store rep! Not some 800# in Whereever, USA!!MARK S.

The first truck had a non functioning cabin fan, No AC, and no defogging which was a problem as it was raining. The second truck had a huge shaking issue at highway speeds. I've had good trucks from Salisbury UHaul before, so I hope this was just bad luck. But I would recommend give these trucks a solid inspection. It made for a frustrating day.MARK G.

Location was fine. U-Haul corporate is totally useless. You can't build apps that work or provide any level of customer service. Even 1hr on hold to talk to someone. This was the worst experience I have had in a very long time. Only the fact this location is close or I would never ever do business w U-Haul. And worse your customer support person was not provided any tools by corporate to address this bad experience!! I will be posting the chat and story to social media so other can understand how bad U-Haul is!Philip K.

Uhaul switched the location of the truck at 6:30 the day before moving to a location that was over an hour away from the original pickup location. They said they called, but I went to call back and it was to a number that indicated it was disconnected. When I called the general customer service line I was never able to talk to anyone. The workers at the Salisbury location were helpful and nice though, all the credit in the world to the workers at the physical locations. Why uhaul can't send an email or text in addition to calling from a number that did not leave a voicemail and can not be called back is absolutely ridiculous. This is a budget moving rental company and it definitely shows, completely wasted my time and money.Gregory F.

Hello This is in response to the motorcycle trailer that I rented from UHAUL in Salisbury, Mass on Tues, August 3rd.Â I rented the trailer for ONE DAY.Â I returned it thatÂ same day at the same location.Â The person working at the UHAULÂ in Salisbury was present in the store. He came out and told me to drop the trailer off at the designated spot. He said I was all set.Â I asked if I needed to check it in or complete a returnÂ process. He said no.Â He was dismissive and pretty rude. It was almost 7 PM and he was hurriedly tryingÂ to close up and go.Â When I pressed him that it didn't seem okay to just leave the trailer he said, "I don't know what to tell you man.Â When they come in in the morning they will see the trailer and check it in. You're all set." This personÂ obviously did not care to do his job correctly so I took a picture of the trailer and sent the picture to the email that had the rental agreement.Â Â On August 6 I got a message from Chris Gorman with UHAUL Customer Service.Â His message said the trailer has not been checked in and replied and told him what happened.Â He created a customer action file #332765 and told me a manager would be in. contact within 72 hours.Â I never heard back. Today, August 17 at 4:30 PM I got a notification from my bank's fraud alert saying UHAULÂ was trying to charge $1,014.63 to my card.Â I went down to the Salisbury store immediately and spoke to the person at the store who originally rented me the trailer that morning.Â Â He checked his system and FOUND the trailer at the location so he said he was able to close the rental contract.Â He gave me a receipt but said I should contact the store manager Joshua Roach next week. I have called my bank and explained the situation to them.Â I have locked my card so I cannot be incorrectly charged the $1014.63 again. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THIS ERROR ON YOUR END IS FIXED. The guy that waited on me was immature, rude and lacked focus. He gave me the keys to the wrong van. I had to return to uhaul to have the contract redone which slowed me down by an hour. My return of the van was just the opposite. Young man was great!JUDITH H.
We chose Uhaul Storage as the location was convenient for what we were looking for and not for the service or management. Do not waste your time on the website looking for a unit to rent/reserve. The online reservation and email confirmation you receive mean absolutely nothing. If you call them or speak to them in person they will tell you that the units are given out first come first serve at physical check-in and that the reservation you have taken the time to make does not hold a space for you. Moving in itself is stressful enough, but packing all week and moving all day, hours in a truck, and then finding out that the storage size you are requesting is sold out that day is not available when you plan to arrive is just the most unsettling news. Luckily while we were a just a few hours from arriving to the facility they called us back and told us a room had just opened up. There should be a way to be able to reserve ahead of time and pay in advance in order to hold a room for your arrival.Ava P. | First Impressions

A lock was supposed to be included in the rental of the storage unit and was supposed to be found just inside the door of the empty unit but there was no lock and when I returned to the office was told that they were out of stock, fortunately we had our own from a previous rental! Otherwise a great rental experience so far. I rented a truck too. Pleasant staff, his name was Matthew. The team was great there. However the truck I was supposed to rent was a 15ft. It was not returned on time and the staff made accommodation to get me into a 10ft but that was not big enough. A/C in truck didn't work on the hottest day of the summer so far. Whne I turned the lights on the dashboard area went out. Upon return I asked the worker cleaning the truck in front of me if I should leave the keys in the truck. His answer didn't make me feel at all confident that he knew anything so I took the keys inside. I have had better experiences at this location so I'll chalk this up to the Covid Era. The tire pressure monitoring system was inoperable and the maintenance indicator was on with a message showing. The contract showed the incorrect amount of fuel, I took pictures before and after informed people left the vehicle with more fuel than it had when I picked it up and informed people again, took pictures again, was told it would be corrected before I was emailed my final receipt. Final receipt showed you had charged me for 2 gallons of gas even after being reminded over & over. I have yet to get a response from customer service and here you are asking for survey responses. I was given a truck that did not start, after I specifically asked if I would have the same problem again with the same vehicle, I was told no. I had the pleasure of trying to get the truck to start for over an hour at 5:30am, to have a truck that was unable to be shut off the entire day, even through re-fueling. When I brought the truck back, another employee advised me they knew about the ignition issue, and offered me a 9$ re-fund. Comical.COLBY S.

I know there's a spot on the website that mentions the possibility of getting a multi level unit .. or something like that, but I would perhaps not have rented it if I knew there was not an elevator. This facility is clean and convenient. The Manager (Adrian) is knowledgeable and the remainder of the staff (Alex) struggle, for example my reserved storage unit wasn't really reserved, and my unused cardboard box return which had been purchased earlier in the day was returned with a receipt, and yet I got a shrug of the shoulders and "something is wrong and we can't give you a return receipt but the money _should_ return to your CC in a few weeks", from the same employee who incorrectly told me my unit was reserved a few weeks ago. The storage unit rained dead bugs when I opened it, however, the low rating is because I'm being harassed through texts and emails to rate my experience with uhaul. It makes me want to not use uhaul again. I have a Uhaul account and another locker in use. I was simply opening a 2nd locker and the number of questions and requests for 2 back up names and numbers at different addresses to mine seemed very odd.
