Tania H.I called and asked to rent a pickup truck and made sure to ask if it was available at that site. It was confirmed. When I got there I was told that one was not available. Had to use larger vehicle than made my process much harder. I believe that UHaul was aware because on my confirmation the mileage was already set to the next vehicle size cost per mileage. A true bait and switch. Also the check engine light was on.

Linda M. | First ImpressionsOn Saturday, August 12th, I rented a 6' x '12 enclosed trailer from U-Haul Salisbury (#798025). The staff was courteous, polite, helpful, and successfully attached the trailer to my vehicle without incident. Upon returning to my residence a short time later, to load said trailer, I opened the roll up door and was met with something unexpected. Upon opening the roll up door, I was met with a gag worthy, foul odor that was emanating from somewhere within and an accompanying field of debris, consisting of broken lamps, miscellaneous clothing items, boxes of damp reading material, a rug, and multiple bags of trash (which was the source of this unpleasant odor). Surrounding one of the bags, was a ring of what appeared to be a black and/or green sludge that appeared to be oozing from what was decaying within the bag. I immediately contacted the rental location to discuss a solution. I spoke to Matt, who was an overall pleasure to deal with. A photograph was taken and submitted and Matt apologized on behalf of U-Haul. As it was close to closing time, retrieving another trailer was not feasible due to the time of travel back to the rental location. Sadly, given the nature of the need for said trailer, I wouldn't be able to return prior to closing or for reopening (departure time for my destination was 5AM). I wasn't able to adjust my travel arrangements to remedy this situation. As a result, I was forced to unload the trailer, find suitable temporary storage for this refuse, and disinfect the trailer with cleaning products I purchased. None of this was convenient, cost effective, or healthy and certainly not something that I would come to expect from U-Haul.

Ash P.This location had no record of me making a reservation for storage though I'd made it in person and had a print out received at that very office. The same thing happened the last time we used uhaul. I'd suggest you all work on that system so a customer can make a reservation and the actually have it be there on the day.

John E.I over filled the gas tank due to not having my paperwork with me but with my daughter in the other car. While upon returning the truck I filled it to the max and was told when I returned it that he couldn't guarantee that I would get a credit back for over filling the gas. ...... I didn't get a credit back for the gas. Also, I bought a ton of boxes for my move and we brought those back since we were told you would buy them back. I obviously didn't have my receipts for the boxes since I lost the envelope with the move. I was told they wouldn't buy unused boxes back without a receipt. Now, keep in mind these are unused boxes that say UHAUL all over them. REALLY? You guys need to change policy because people like myself like to do things with ease and convenience . I spent over a $150 and you can look up my transaction in your computer proving I purchased them. Why not offer to reprint my receipt and they you will have your receipt. Just seems crazy! Otherwise, the guy that helped me with the transaction was very nice, courteous, and professional.
TONI H.We rented a truck to haul our stranded RV home. Before we left the parking lot, we were concerned that the ball on the hitch was too small, so the attendant informed us to just return the vehicle for "no charge". We were about 5 miles away and did return the vehicle within 30 minutes. U-haul was trying to charge us $55.99. The milage totaled $5.45, which I can understand paying, but after a lot of protesting, they agreed to only charge $20.45. They would only refund us half of the $30 optional insurance. I am completely dissatisfied with that decision.

Larry Z.The only thing I can think of is to inform the customer that a text will be coming that you're supposed to click on before leaving the rental lot. I didn't see the text for a couple of hours after I got home and when I tried it, it timed out. In the end I only rented the trailer for 22 hours and they could tell that it came back in the same condition as it went out, so all was good. But this might be a small process improvement. Besides this the people at the Salisbury Merrill St. site were helpful and profesional and a pleasure to work with.

(picked up around 3:45) The guy that was there when I brought it back was a COMPLETE ASS, I was the only one there and it seemed like he was having a very bad day, texting away on his phone with a scowl, just barely acknowledged me even being there, I asked him if he wanted the trailer back where I got it yesterday and he just grunted and stormed out the door...guess I should follow him huh?? He mumbled that he would email a receipt and stormed back inside. This was all yesterday...today I get a call saying I had not returned the trailer and to call the office, which I did and explained it was returned at 3:30. This guy is BAD for business

Once signed in, it should not require another "signing in", for twenty minutes and perhaps only need a door swipe access for the rest of the time. You have to swipe at just the right speed for it to work. It is like trying to learn a secret handshake every time to gain access. Even after a successful "signing in", when you get to the door, it says that you need to sign in and you repeat the process. But if you need storage and do not want your stuff in the super hot or deep freeze temperatures, this is the place to go.

All went well, but we recommend using plastic film to protect your belongings as you are never safe from dust coming from the floor above you. We had to change units a couple of times. Maybe U-Haul should add a protective layer between the ceiling and your personal belongings.

My items were there for 3 yes the first time. It's always immaculate, never had to worry about my items being secure. NEVER and rodents, insects etc. I have to say, the manager there now... Keep him!!! The reason I took my stuff out the first time was the manager at the time was NOT pleasant. She was just downright nasty. You're new manager... He's phenomenal. Nice guy, down to earth. Knows what he's doing and does whatever he can to help. That's all employee you want to keep. Hopefully I won't need to go through having to move again, but if I do, I'll definitely be back!!! Thank you!!!

Never an issue with security or undesirable people just hanging around as with other facilities. 24 hr access used to be available which is convenient but the hours now are more than sufficient. I will day the manager there now is MUCH more pleasant than the woman that was there. She was part of the reason I took my stuff out. The manager now was phenomenal!!! Someone give him a raise!!!
