The online after hours return process wasn't clear from the beginning. The store associate just told me to return the key to the after hours box and did not say anything about an online return process but then there are signs posted on the wall by the box telling customers to go to the app to return their equipment after hours. I ended up returning the key to the box before realizing that I needed to have the keys in order to turn on the truck to take a photo of the gas gauge. Then the online app didn't work for me because my cell phone didn't have enough memory available to complete the photo upload process. Customers should be able to complete the online return process without having to take a photo. I spent at least 15 minutes trying to return the truck online before giving up, which was very frustrating. And it appears that the online return process is just redundant and is not even necessary as I still received my receipt the following day.

I would have saved at least 30 minutes if there had been a sign or a message in the automatic check-in saying that I needed to look at the other end of the parking lot, behind a building, for my truck. There was only one person working at the counter, and she was very helpful, but it just took so much longer than it had to because there was no info on where to look for our truck if it wasn't in the main part of the parking lot. In addition, we would have had to wait in line just to pick up the keys for the truck even if we had found it easily, so the self check-in didn't save us any time at all.

Waited over an hour to get my truck, this location had only one employee present. The truck I got was not clean. I do not place any blame on the employee she was doing the best she could alone.

I arrived 10 minutes before my reservation time to and started the share a truck app process. It was slow and said “pending approval” for 40 minutes in which that time we stood in line For help. We never even got to talk to anyone in that horrendously slow moving line before the app magically “approved” me. After ALL of this, I was still expected to bring the uhaul back in the 3 hours I had left. A partial refund wound be nice as this day was turned into a stressful one, needlessly thanks to your company.

Slow services. Used pick up for 66 miles. Barely over 1/4 tank of gas at pick up. Put in over 4 gallons and gas gauge was just over 1/4 tank again. They told me I could just leave the truck and my receipt would be emailed. Very unhappy to see I was charged an additional $12.50 for two gallons of fuel. That was not right and I would not have agreed to pay if I had been told I could leave! Bogus charge by a bogus crew. The guy working is slow and apathetic. While I was waiting to check out he was just watching the woman deal with another customer and I heard him comment re some issue with that customer “just part of the destruction of U-Haul” The truck and the rates were fine. The woman was friendly and professional. The guy is someone I would not hire in my business!

The manager could not be any more helpful friendly and accommodating- it was truly a very good experience- she actually returned our phone calls at odd hours and did everything possible to meet our needs. The Saco, Maine location is really an excellent facility! The place is extremely secure, clean and pleasing to the eye and plenty of space to maneuver your vehicle

The cashier was literally the rudest person I have ever met. We waited in the office for over ten minutes for to acknowledge us, then when she finally did she was super rude about us being an hour late to pick up our truck, telling us we were very lucky she didn't give it to someone else, meanwhile we had been stuck in horrible traffic and nothing we could have done. Then she proceeded to need several addresses so that “uhaul would know where we were. The way she said made us sound like we were thieves in the night. She needed 3 phone numbers of friends, serously??? Why on earth would I steal a uhaul truck, where would I go? At this point I will never use uhaul again and I will start checking my credit report as I am sure she is stealing our identities.

Everything was good except the pick up truck was filthy. The inside of the cabin had a very foul odor and when I wiped off the steering wheel it came off really dirty. The whole thing needs to get vacuumed out and sanitized between uses, this is not an old truck it was only 15,000 miles on the road.

I was called on July 4th and left a message that my storage unit was "empty with no lock" and left instructions to call back if I was not moving out that day. I called back, and proceeded to call back everyday following. I was never put in touch with the Saco location and the national distribution center couldn't reach them either. I was not able to confirm that my property was in fact NOT missing until I could go to the storage unit myself on July 9th. At checkout when I brought this up the staff member rolled her eyes and moved on - this issue is not resolved in my mind and spoiled the whole experience.

I rented the uhaul and went 5 miles (total miles) and was charged $10 for 2 gallons of gas. I do not think this is right. If I used 2 gallons of gas to go 5 miles then maybe your vehicles should be sent to maintenance. I would definitely not recommend this UHaul - what a rip off!

Rude staff that did not make eye contact. Was charged for an extra day after having to return uhaul 3.5 hours after the time it was due. Also got charged going over mileage when I simply drove to my new apartment and then additional 10milrs to my hotel. Staff was totally uncompromising and rude.

check in early morning went relatively smoothly but when returning the truck early afternoon there was no one in the store to assist, I waited over 20 minutes, talked to another customer that was very upset on how long they had been waiting, I had to go find someone in the parking lot to return the keys.

Gas issues are becoming a major issue. The truck was picked up and it read below what the paperwork said was in the truck. So we took a video of the difference, which was really small, and the mileage before starting the truck and leaving the parking lot. When we returned it with the same gas that was in it to begin with, the guy charged me an extra 36 for gas because it was a sliver below the 3/4 full mark. In fact it was more than when we picked it up. I showed my video to prove the error and the guy did reverse the charges but after being incredibly rude. Definitely not the experience I am used to. Just keep the trucks on full, have them returned full, and no one gets accidentally overcharged because you all are trying to figure out which line the needle is closer too. And customer service was not on todays employees to do list. He obviously didn't want me there.

I put 0ver 2( dollars in gas in vehicle only went Just over 40 miles and was charged 27.50 because it didn't read a quarter but gauge didn't move a when I put that in so why even bother I basically paid 53 dollars for gas that is Tory in except-able. Just more ways for you to gauge the customers.

Long line with only one rep helping customers. My van was not ready after I checked in with the rep. The fuel was lower than what was documented. The fact that then I have to bring the van back with the exact fuel is horrible policy unless the tank starts out full. It's a giant pain to have to pump exactly what was in the tank when you picked it up, in order to not feel like you are getting ripped off by filling it up when UHall won't credit you for the extra gas you put in.

I had paid for a dolly to be included with the rental. When I picked up my dolly on Friday (3/4/22) at your Sanford location there was no dolly in the uhaul. This error set me back a day in my moving process as I needed the dolly to move appliances. I then spoke with a very kind lady through customer service who agreed that was unfavorable and offered an additional day for free. The very next day I was being harassed by I believe your general manager of maine or something. It was a woman. She actually threatened my wife and I and said she would track us down to return the truck. After this threat we frantically returned the truck to the lot that night. Somehow in your system it says I owe an outstanding balance to you. Even though I have a bank statement as proof that I was charged. I needed a truck for another day so I just went through pensky.

uHaul had setup auto pay for our storage unit, that way once the free month was over it would automatically bill us. uHaul failed to bill us for July and August. Forcing our account to show as unpaid. Despite a $2 authorization charge showing on our bank statement - clearly showing that uHaul had access to bill our account. It's been frustrating to get situated. As we feel that due to uHaul's mistake, we shouldn't be billed for that missed time.

Initially the interaction with a certain staff member was not good BUT Lance was always helpful and when I met with the manager Jennifer she listened and helped with the issues we were having. This is a very busy location and they all work very hard and are under staffed. Hope they can get extra help soon .

The staff @ Saco U-Haul was great, and the facility is really nice U-haul had an issue in that it confused me with somebody else in their system and initiall prevented the rental from going through, but when the standard customer support from U-haul was evidently failing, the staff reached out "behind the scenes" to expedite the resolution and bring it to a great conclusion - they saved the day and made my experience a positive one.

The alarm to my unit never worked. The staff said it would take hours on the phone to fix and with the 3 hour time difference from Maine to Arizona it would be hard to fix. Other than that, I had a good experience and would use U-Haul again.

Everything is great, the only problem I have is my code to unlock the door wouldn't work when I tried it so I had to rely on other people who were there to access the door. Not sure if it's because I bought it and moved in the same day but I would be bummed out if the code still didn't work after the fact.

Jen Strout was great however, this facility needs more staff. I have had issues with a truck not being available when I reserved it, having their systems down when I wanted one and although it was there, they could not rent because they could not get into the computer. I would not use the auto payment system for storage lease again as I have had an issue with it. Also I can NEVER get anyone on the Phone causing me to have to go in person and wait in a long line to speak with someone as only one person is working there. The place is clean and safe but, they need to figure out the management side of things.
