Double check the wiper blades. Had a tense situation in traffic because the blades were not in full contact with the windshield, the day after a snow storm making it difficult to see.

THOMAS IOne trailer tire was completely bald with no signs of tread. One other tire was down to the wear bars. This to me was unacceptable and frankly negligent on uhauls part. I did not notice the tires until I was mid trip and could not return the trailer until the job was done. I expect better and expect a trailer in good repair.
ADAM BTruck was a complete joy, brand new (under 5,000 miles on the odometer), which was such a blessing on a trip of over 1000 miles. Smooth ride and we felt very confident that there would be no mechanical issues on the way and of course there weren't any.

THOMAS DAs long as Uhaul makes customers record their own photos and do all the grunt work in checking out a vehicle, I will go out of my way to avoid using them. Absolutely obnoxious process, and pointless too since 1) the photos are too far away to matter and actually pick up details and 2) the mileage can be different from what the system shows on the receipt upon pickup, and even with a photo it doesn't update that information so you're charged for the mileage difference anyway. Just another example of toxic capitalism putting more onus on the customer while diluting the value of the worker as an excuse to hire fewer people and pay them less.

And then I went in to the office and told them that I had moved out, but that the payment had been taken out that morning, I was refused a refund. So I paid a $120 2 days before it was due and it was not refunded. Staff did not even try to help. They just refused me. I did, however, call U-haul and one of the very nice ladies helped me to put a complaint into the district manager. I am hoping this will help. I can't afford to be losing a $120 for nothing..

Counter staffing on weekends needs to be increased.15 mins on hold, then disconnected. Arrived to approximately 25 minutes wait time in lobby. Potential customers ahead of me left without service.
JAMES Tthe overall experience was quite good. the in-store staff was excellent. would it break the corporate budget to install cruise control? not just for convenience, but if you're going to have customers focus on fuel savings such a device could help keep down emissions.

TADAS MLost the driver's windshield wiper in a blizzard and passenger failed the next day. There was no means to assist. Additionally, the headlights for this vehicle were very poor and only the head beams provided adequate illumination of the roadway. This truck was newer, and with fewer miles, but it was by far the most poorly maintained vehicle I have driven across the US.
MARK LThe only downfall is that someone smokes inside the truck cabin before I pick it up and since I don’t smoke it really give me a headache I think they should pay more attention to this issue.

MICHAEL BI have many comments which have been consistent for every rental I've had with uhaul, but they are not specific to the employees who were very helpful and considerate. The issue is your lengthy process and the experience. For instance, Why should I provide all information on line with payment and then have to go in to store and wait in line and then provide license, payment etc.to get a key? The reason for online service is to save time!! Why didn't I get confirmation that a key is available for the truck I rented a day in advance in a lock box so I just show up and grab the truck? 2nd major issue is cellular service which is awful and the guest WiFi is not strong enough to keep the process fast. Just to drive away with the truck I wasted 20 minutes. For my return, same issue 30 minutes to return. The uhaul process is way to lengthy overall taking pics of gas and mileage and then typing it in? All the pictures for liability. You don't have to do this when you rent cars. Even a t home dept you sign a form drive it and drop it off. I've rented manny times over the years and just this occasion wasted almost an hour which you charge me for. I don't think that reflects you well so I wanted to mention this for improvements. Trucks are always greats and clean and the employees are always pleasant but with all the red tape to rent you need to speed up the experience both in the steps and also the internet speed. Thanks!!

Our furniture had condensation spots and the beginning of mold on our Antique wood furniture (perfect mint condition when put into the unit # 1245. Hopefully it will come off with a thorough cleaning. With the amount of money we paid. I thought condensation and mold would not be issue with the climate control has promised. Disappointed that there was condensation and the beginning of mold on my Antique furniture.

Engine light was on but she said it was the sensor. Would this stop me for renting a truck again? No but I wanted you to be aware of my opinion.
ALBERT DTruck looks like it hadn't been washed in 40,000 miles had a leak in the cab. Some of my stuff got wet. going down hills it would over rev I had to slow way down the price to go to North Carolina was three times as much as I normally pay. I did a quotation reversing the trip and it was only $850 so needless to say I love U-Haul I've been using them for years, but you sure didn't make me too happy this time.

Another customer was also waiting. Eventually a female employee was spotted out in the yard in the cab of a truck. It looked like she was checking in a drop off. She was very helpful and got us taken care of very quickly and correctly BUT why was she there all alone at 8:15 am on a Saturday morning??? It looks to me that that location is seriously understaffed. Management should be ashamed of themselves!

The trailer coupler needed some maintenance as it took channel locks to get the thing loose after pulling it for a bit. They plan on replacing it at the destination location as I had to uncouple it for them.

Nor did he ask me if I wanted insurance… he just assumed I didn't and went ahead with the paper work I have used Uhaul in Portland for the past year or so (every other week to rent a truck) - always had a great experience. Not sure if this dude was just having a bad day or what… all I can tell you is it left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be recommending this Uhaul to anybody - even my enemies.

Sharon L | Overall ExperienceThe only issue I have is that my storage unit went up in price twice to the point where I could no longer afford it, because I live in another town and don't have a vehicle I ended up having to close my account and lose all of my stuff. When I started, it was great, but I wasted a lot of money and ended up losing my stuff in the process. I also got charged $230 or so to my bank right after I had a plan to come get my stuff. All I needed was gas money, but because I was charged, my bank went into the negatives and still is, because of that I could no longer make plans to grab my stuff which in turn made me lose my stuff. My daughters stuff was also in storage, so she lost everything because of this as well. Essentially she lost everything as did I, and now we are $230 or so in debt. That's all we have to show for this. The only positive thing was that they were willing to close my account for free and I didn't have to pay to close it.

One of my Locks was replaced with no explanation, management refused to help or even listen. I had to pay someone out of pocket to remove it. The security alarm goes off all the time and is loud enough to cause hearing damage. I could go on and list all the issues i had with the manager and all the time I wasted dealing with her, but instead I got Jeremy Clarkson to paint a more colorful analogy. "Today, we're talking about U-Haul Self Storage in Saco, Maine, and let me tell you, it's about as impressive as a Yugo.Yes, that's right. U-Haul Self Storage is the Yugo of storage facilities. It promises practicality and convenience but delivers disappointment and frustration at every turn. And the customers? They're as happy as Yugo owners during rush hour traffic. They've had their fees increased unexpectedly, their items misplaced, and their interactions with management resemble a scene from a slapstick comedy. Trying to talk to management here is like trying to start a Yugo on a cold winter morning-it's a futile exercise in frustration. They seem to have mastered the art of disappearing act when customers need them most. So, if you're thinking about storing your belongings here, my advice is: don't. Unless you enjoy the thrill of uncertainty and the comedy of errors that comes with it."

The staff at this store has no knowledge of this, can't understand why someone would get a prorated amount back and lack the commutation skills to professionally have a conversation with a customer about this concern. How is it a Maine state law that cable services must give you a prorated bill but somehow U-Haul doesn't? I am still waiting on a callback from this stores manager from August. This store is the most unprofessional location I have visited. Lance, the guy working there yesterday, said he'd share my concern with the manager however since he didn't make a note or anything I don't expect that to happen. There is no way to handle this dispute directly with the office since the manager has an obscure schedule as compared to the stores hours and the rest of the staff isn't equip to handle any situations other than checking your reservation and taking your money.

I couldn't get in earlier and had to unload my units through the pass door when the slider auto locked at 7:00. Having been in the door industry for 30 years you can have them locked from outside and active from inside giving access to anyone with a card and auto lock after passing thru with a cart to the dock. Then with a card could enter thru the pass door open the slider and get the cart in and the slider would close. Instead of people blocking the pass door open all the time they are unloading. Simple adjustment to make everything more secure and more convenient for your customers. Thankyou for your consideration.
