The customer service, website, and movers booked through U-Haul provided a pretty terrifying move experience. Having to take photos in the pitch darkness, the truck was backed into like a ravine. The side view mirrors didn't adjust just to name a few location specific. The website was constantly giving me errors. My movers didn't show up on time then charged me for an extra hour and damaged several of my new items. I honestly don't think it was work the money. The truck worked but it had to be an early 90s model that sounded like it was going to break down rattling and the smell of burning rubber.Ashley N.

The Customer Service woman was super rude and made it seem like it was my fault that the other location gave Mt the wrong invoice. I was only trying to understand why they refunded me $19.80 extra and then charged me for it again when I dropped off the truck. Had an unexpected experience today...nstaller Brian found the hitch and wiring done by this business last December did not function! Apparently the installer on 12/2/2020 had not completed a final check before delivering my car to me! SO a projected 30 minute appt to upgrade me to a 7 pin electrical became a 2 1/2+ hour event! So as a customer, I endured, no,complaint because installer Brian was concerned about the failure of UHaul to have checked this last December! I hadn't towed since then , but if I had, he said there would not have been brake or turn lites !!! SCARY AS A CUSTOMER !!! Horrible experience! Got the wrong code for the building couldn't load my stuff into storage nobody answers the phones had to take off of work the next day to unload the truck and the storage unit was tiny so had to go back to the office. Had a appointment so had to drive back to Rochester again! Waisted so much gas so much money lost. Broke me!Tammy L.

I had set up to pick ue 4x8 trailer in Winona, Mi, They called day before pick up and sent me to Rochester Mi. Pick up mileage went from 25 miles to 60 miles each way, That was disappointing, Rest of experience was great at pickup and turn in.JAN P.

The checkout process for the one-way rental was not clear. I was told that I could pick wherever location I wanted to drop the trailer in Chicago. I then received a text and said I had to take it to a specific location 35 miles away from where I was. This process should be more clear. Very confusing and required a number of calls to fully understand. A little more time at checkout could've saved a lot of calls in timeBRIAN B.

There were just not enough staff scheduled to handle the volume of customers when I was there on a weekend. Especially when one employee gets tied up with a needy customer leaving the one competent employee to handle all the rest because the other is a new hire on their first day and doesn't know enough of the system to help out. Poor staffing decisions caused major delays.PAUL S.
Even using navigation, I had a hard time figuring out how to get to the location from the street. A more prominent sign would have helped. Once I found my way to the office, however, I was helped right away and the check-in process was quite easy.ANDREW PHILLIP G.

He gave me a trailer that had just been returned (I saw him unhitch it), and it was COVERED in splattered mud in the front. Luckily, I checked the condition before I completely left the lot, and there was a nail in the side of the tire! I returned to the office, and he gave me one of the several other trailers sitting right there. Very disappointed. This person clearly was trying to shortcut the process by not giving me a trailer that had been cleaned and inspected.Michael B.

I was involved in an accident with my U-Haul trailer and the desk person and the manager were unable to help me. They instructed me to contact U-haul directly. After trying several times, I tried to talk to turn again but they left the office. When driving away from the store, the workers were outside moving their own personal belongings from one trailer to another to assist me. The customer service of U-Haul was inconsistent. One person said I needed to call the 800 number even though I was already unsuccessful in talking to a live person that way. One person told me I needed to pay the cost of the trailer even though I didn't know what the damage was to the trailer. Another person said someone would call me back and nobody did. Another person said they only help when there is damage to my personal items or my person. Meanwhile, the person who it the trailer contacted their insurance company who had been trying unsuccessfully for a week requesting U-Haul go pick up the trailer from the tow company. Overall, this has been a terrible experience.CINDY G.

My vehicle was not available at my first location, so I had to wait for an hour to figure out the confusion and then drive to this location an hour away.
