Poor overall experience. Guaranteed truck wasn't available at pickup, sent to another location. After getting to other location, appliance dolly wasn't available on truck. Check in was difficult. The equipment was not in a road ready state. The location staff was ok. However, the trailer, which was recently repaired, was not repaired correctly which could have caused a very dangerous situation for me and the general public. The brake line was not connected, and the rear axle moved back and forth. This also caused us to have to pull over to the side of the road and have roadside assistance come and fix the two rear tires. The general manager is very attentive to my complaints. Please, if you rent from this company, take a second look at safety things underneath the equipment before you leave.Jameson W.

Was charged a cleaning fee when we drove the vehicle a whole 25 miles and it was completely emptied out. When I asked the rep over the phone he said it's charged when the vehicle takes extra time to clean. He said there was no documentation of why it was charged as well as saying they could charge it whenever they want. I don't see how that makes sense or how they think they'll have return customers with that policy.cory D.
I am not sure what I did to deserve the miracles that owner Sarah bestowed upon me, but I am very grateful for her kindness. Working with this particular U-Haul store on W. National Rd. in Richmond Indiana restored my faith in customer service and care. Sarah moved mountains for me when trying to move my college kid in the midst of family hardship. I rented a cargo van and submitted my license, got my estimate and planned my move accordingly. But when I arrived, they told me I couldn't have a cargo van due to out of state license but I could rent a 10ft truck instead. Cost more in gas and had to have it back 4.5 hours earlier. It ruined my entire move plan and I had to renegotiate help. Wish I had been informed before arriving to pick it up so I could call other locations to see if they could give me the amount of time I needed.Jaclyn O.

Mileage was incorrect from what was on paperwork and actual miles. Gas tank was not at full level. We put 21 miles on truck and had to put nearly 5 gallons of gas back in it to indicate full upon returning.mark P.

We went to this location when we were moving locally. We walked into the store we were not even greeted by the two employees behind the counter who were talking to each other. We were the only customers in the store. The female employee, unfortunately I did not get her name was extremely rude and acted as if we were a bother. We opted to rent elsewhere. We used this location weeks later to drop off rental that we rented one way from St Pete Florida. Gentleman at drop off was friendly. We were told e-mail would be sent. I had to call the next day to request email. I initially was speaking to a gentleman then a female by the name of Sarah began interjecting. I learned I was on speaker phone. It was very unprofessional and very poor customer service. I was told at pick up if uhaul returned early or less miles used I would be credited the difference Sarah told me that was incorrect. I placed a return call to St Pete uhaul where we initially picked up uhaul and was told initially again yes you will be credited a dollar amount if uhaul not used for the 5 days originally planned or if less miles used. After the young man spoke with his manager I was told no the original quote was the amount billed whether used uhaul 1 day or 5. I think it would be better business if employees were well versed on the cost and rental agreement and could inform their customers with accurate information. Thank youRandy D.

I rented a trailer and worked my but off to have it returned on time which I did. But I wS charged $70 late fee I called and spoke with Taylor and she said she reviewed the camera and I was correct that I returned the trailer at like 230am and that she would fix the error. But today I was charged the $70 when I sure wasn't expecting it it almost put the account in the negative now I'm working my ass off to get this fixed. I just want my $70. I should be compensated for my time but No tjat sure won't happen not in any form like give me a discount on my next rental. Thanks so much for taking my money.Robert R.

I have actually never been done so bad by a company in my life you guys have just repeated to screw me over and over you've charged my card three separate days in a row without permission after my wife specifically told you not to. and then the general manager lied and said that the lights were working on the trailer and they definitely were not we couldn't even pull the trailer because the brakes kept seizing.I promise U-Haul has a small claims suit coming from me and if you Sarah the general manager happened to see this you should be ashamed of yourself you're supposed to stand for something better that's why you were promoted to management but that's not you at all cuz you were okay with letting me and my kids go on up the road and getting an accident and it's no sweat off your back because you didn't want to stand out there in the cold and get it working properlyCody M. | Overall Experience

I tried to register for my unit on-line, but the site would not upload my drivers license. Kept prompting me to retake it over and over. Greg registered me in the office and he was exceedingly helpful, courteous and professional. I am pleased that I chose U-Haul Storage. The storage unit was fine. The trucks were fine. But I was charged a full month of rent to the tune of $158 for 7 days of storage. And I made my reservation for the truck on 9-30, which is supposed to give me a full month for free. I would like to be reimbursed for the $158. The general manager at this store is rude and unprofessional. I was not explained all the requirements needed while renting the unit such as my account needing to be on autopay. After two months of paying with calling in, some employee just “checked a little box” and put me on autopay. There was no authorization by me whether it be voice recording or electronic signature for uhaul to be authorized to take from my account, and I was told that some employee must have just checked this box and put you on autopay, HOW IS THAT LEGAL? It took TWO MONTHS of multiple return check fees to be ASSURED I was not on autopay without my permission. Even after speaking to the general manager about my problem of originally being charged without my permission, she approved for my payment to be sent back and said I was not on autopay. THE NEXT DAY after the payment was returned I was charged again. How can that happen? And after I tried to call and get this fixed I had multiple employees tell me that this is just how it is and she is not the best person to talk to, AS I HAVE ALREADY FELT. After being shown that there was no clear leadership and the manager could care less about me trying to get financial stable after having to leave a domestic violence relationship and JUST NEEDED MY THINGS TO BE OUT OF HIS HOUSE, I immediately got my things out the unit and left.
