The address of pick up was changed on me and I wasn't even notified. I had to go figure that out and I was late to my move and had people waiting on me. The charges are ridiculously expensiveâ€¦I felt overcharged for what I used the truck for. I was BARELY under half tank when I turned it in and got charged for 3 gallons of gas? No way that was three gallonsâ€¦the whole place is a joke. I won't be going back.Shaun P.

The trailer sizes are incorrect and cannot be used to plan for the load being transported. I ended up forty minutes away ready to pick up the load and realized it would not fit in the trailer! Sure, the real size is hidden in the fine print, but that's just UHAUL being a weasel with advertising. UHAUL knows that nine out of ten people care about the cargo size and not some arbitrary dimension of the trailer. There is no good way to secure the trailer to a vehicle to prevent theft ... yet UHAUL wants the user to be responsible for any stolen trailer. I thought about locking the safety chains to the vehicle but the safety chains are attached to the trailer by screw links! UHAUL scans both the front and back of your government-issued ID and stores it in a database - which can then be exploited and stolen. Details of the transaction are not clear until the moment of pick-up ... which may be too late to walk away from the reservation and find an alternative. I won't be back - UHAUL sucks.Thayne H.

They didn't have blankets ready when I got there, no big deal. They found some used ones that just came back, and I was fine to use them. The gal said that she wouldn't charge me for them,I thanked her for that and went on my way. When I dropped off, there was a different gal who checked me back in. I mentioned to her about the blankets and what the other person told me. She said she'd make a note of it. In the end I was still charged for the blankets. Not a problem as I did use them.George C.

We had reserved a unit and upon arrival found out they had no units of that size available. They offered us two smaller units (combined size still smaller than what we needed) but wouldn't charge us the price of the one we had originally reserved but instead charged us the higher price of the two combined. First off though the door on the units were so small that we couldn't even fit a couch through it, and then when we looked in the first unit, there was still stuff in there. Very unprofessional. We should have been contacted prior to our move in date to be made aware that the storage unit we reserved wasn't actually available. I filled up the gas to a FULL tank and drove not even a half mile from the gas station back to Uhaul to drop it off. Said it was down to a 3/4 of a tank and was charged $10 gas fee. That is ridiculous saying I literally drove it straight from the gas station there.JANALYN L.

The staff was friendly and kind. They were extremely nice and gave me all the information I needed with clear instructions. It was fast and easy for me. The only thing was one of the Employees of Uhaul pulled in and parked right behind me. He was dropping something off. I had to really make a tight 8 point maneuver to get by him. Windshield wipers were old and ineffective. The wiper just smeared the water and dust across the window making it difficult to see. Battery died after 15-20 min of the light on in the back. Had to be jumped. When returning, web app would not work, so I could not complete the after hours drop off. Called customer support, left number for call back. System called me back about 10-15 min later but then put me back in the queue. Waited 10 min and n queue. No one came on. Hung up snd called back in snd waited in queue again, no answer. Dropped off keys. I was charged an additional $20. Please refund me at least the $20. Please refund additional portion of the cost due to faulty windshield wipers and battery. KirkKirk S.

Moved in on the first of September and moved out the 30th of November but was still billed for December even though I moved out before my stuff was even in there for a day. When I asked if I could be refunded I was told no. They even told me that they lacked the technical capabilities to refund a card which is a flat out lie. Be careful renting a space here. I didn't want insurance on my rental. I originally tried doing everything contactless online but for some reason I did the reservation just fine at home, but had issues accessing it once I showed up the the Uhual location to pick up the keys. We were greeted by Destinee Murphy outside who said she could just help us, which I appreciated. After reviewing my bill after we dropped the truck off, I noticed that I was charged for CDW coverage for $10. I was never asked about this by her or anyone in person before we rented our truck. I did have this option online, but denied adding this coverage. If this is the insurance that I had originally selected online that I didn't want - then I would expect a refund for it. Poor experience - don't charge your customers for some additional service with out asking them if they want it first.HAL N.

I had been a long time customer that went thru many different associates there I had inquired on cost for an RV spot and had no problem with it Yet when I ask for a spot for an RV I'm told it must be registered , licensed and insured which was never part of the vehicle storage requirements I know that hardly any if any at all of the vehicles out back are licenced So I cleaned out my unit and found a cheaper place for storing my RV which I will use as my unit for now Doubt I will be back again any time in the future 5 to 7 managers come and gone in my time there and I get treated like a bulb off the streets No thanksRobert J. | Overall Experience

I didn't like that I had to get out of the car to swipe the code for the gate to open I was hoping to punch a coat without getting out of the car and the gate was open then I find out I had to buy a $50 remote. The whole process was a pain. The location we got the empty Ubox from did not provide a cover to the Ubox. Since it was raining we were really worried our items would get wet. We ended up having to use our own tarp to cover the box until we delivered the fully packed box back to Uhaul. Next, the Ubox was a week late to arrive after shipping. U-haul claims they will refund you $50/day if the shipment is late but they are dragging their feet on this (of course) and I can't seems to get ahold of anyone in customer service since the wait is always over an hour on the phone. Last, when I went to pick up my Ubox after it had been shipped, the workers had put my single Ubox on a double trailer which was too heavy for my car to tow even though I specifically told Uhaul what car I was going to use to to tow with. They were going to make me rent one of their trucks but I luckily found a friend with a truck I could use. And then after all the things Uhaul has done to make the Ubox late to arrive, they tried to charge me for a second month of rent on the Ubox even though it was their fault the shipping was late! In summary, U-haul is unorganized, poorly managed, and an all-around pain to work with. It's a miracle our stuff arrived without damage.Morgan R.

I was Not Told about a three day grace period when I checked in . This month I was 6 days late and got a 10 dollar fine . I can see being a week or more late . But 6 days is just plain greedy . I tried to set up automatic payments when we checked in and they couldn't do it . And told me to come back and do it later. The workers there are NOT well trained or professional. Ridiculous. We made a reservation for a 10x20 2 weeks ago. We came from out of state yesterday with all our stuff. I called 2 times in the morning confirming our reservation and asking a few questions. My parents went to get the unit for us as we were getting in town after office hours. When they got there they were told all that was available was a 10x15. Makes so sense since we confirmed a reservation for a 10x20. No one at any point told us "you have a reservation, but not an actual reservation" we asked for another smaller unit to compensate but there was nothing else available. You're "reservation" system is a joke, we felt completely screwed over. We had to scramble and find other locations to store things. We also had to spend about 45 more minutes unloading to fit as much as we could. A mess.James W. | First Impressions
The picture-taking part on the mobile app froze up when I tried to capture the odometer after my trip. I tried calling customer support, which put me on endless hold until I found out how to take picture through the website on mobile (which somehow works when the app doesn't). I rented my moving van at 12:19pm on 08-02-2021. I paid for two days of rental and two days worth of insurance. I was told that if I turned it in in 1 day instead of keeping it for two days that there would be some daily credit refunded. My appointment to unload on 08-03-21 was at 9 am. It took longer than anticipated but I was able to finish unloading the truck at 11:45. I hurried to the uhaul drop off location on state street. I turned in the keys to the guy working the counter at 12:14 pm. 5 minutes before the first 24 hours was up. After leaving the location my wife encouraged me to call the office and make sure that they were aware of my less than 24 hr rental. The call to the local office was transferred to corporate where I was told that the call was expected to be answered in 43 minutes. Not the local offices fault but still annoying. I know the discount is only 35-50 dollars. I know I should have made the guy behind the counter aware of my time. But I assumed he would inpput my correct arrival time into the uhaul system. When I received the final bill it said the vehicle check in time was after 5 pm. Not the accurate 12:14 arrival time. For a 35-50 dollar discount I am not willing to wait 43 minutes on hold. It is what it is. Sorry for the 1 star rating. I already feel bad about it. But the truth is the truthBrent O.

Only one person was there. Had to wait a long time to get help. But he was super nice. There are rugs covering cracks in the floor. There is a pretty big difference on either side of the crack. I was given a smaller sized locker than I reserved online which was frustrating. I needed to get that switched because there was no way my stuff would fit into the smaller locker. The person working there was able to switch it without any problems but I am not sure why I wasn't just given what I reserved. When I made the reservation online it said that I was eligible for the first month free for using uhaul previously. When I checked in at the office the person said that he couldn't see that discount and that I needed to pay for the first month. There was no lighting in the storage unit. Lighting in the area outside the unit was very minimal. We had leakage from the roof of the unit that caused damage. You credited a month of payment (thank you), but it didn't fully compensate for the damage. This unit (L781) has a big problem with roll-up door. No lock in the unit. Staff was helpful though. I would like to mention that when looking for your number online, it was a bit of a challenge. I had to find your number to call the desk for a lock and it was a pain trying to find the correct storage unit online even though I was standing right there in the very place I needed the number for. On one sign it says Lockbox (which I looked up online and couldn't locate) and on the other it is U-Haul. Confusing.Laurie L. | Online Move In
