The storage unit was horrible. Not sealed and contained Two enormous rodent traps in the tiny 4x8 unit. The unit was NOT 4x8. While it appeared longer than 8', it was not fully rectangular and was not 4' wide. All in all, gross facility: Had I known, ai'd nvr have rented a place to store anything except maybe car parts or garden tools. Yuck. Waste of money.

I don't have sufficient evidence that any attempt was made to notify me of missed payments or storage going to auction. I used to get texts with reminders to pay, and phone calls, they stopped in January with the first missed starting in February. I would pay a month in advance. I was told certified letters were sent and the post office has no record- I feel tricked in order for the facility to attempt to collect fees and try and auction off my daughters college storage items. The next time I visit I'm clearing the space.

I do not recommend it because they charged me $5 dollars per gallon of gasoline and I used 9.6 miles and I put 2 gallons of gas in it and the ford transit gives 15 miles per gallon I put 2 gallons in it and only used it for 9.6 miles

I was asked for a lot of information that was intrusive and out of line for renting a storage unit. Clerk lacked any desire for customer service, and basic math skills. He could not explain why I was required to provide all this information. Tried to force me to buy a lock. Then, I was offered a different unit than the one I selected online. I returned the unit on the spot and if my card isn't refunded, I will be reporting fraudulent charge. I would never do business with this facility and have serious concerns about uhaul even being involved with this. If the way this was done isn't illegal, it should be. But I'm fairly sure there was some kind of legal violation in the way this "move in" was conducted and that is on uhaul and the manager, not the clerk.

I came in and toured a few open units. Onsite I spoke to the Manager (Art) about the specific unit I wanted to have. He recommended I reserved the unit since my move in date was 1 week away. Manager (Art) did not tell me that I had to pay for the unit to secure it that day. I came back a few days later to get a lock for the unit + was informed that the unit was sold to someone else + that there were no other units available in that size + climate controlled. This makes no sense. Why have a reservation system at all? They tried to stick me in other sized units that were twice the cost. Why not tell me that I had to pay for the unit to secure it? I would have gladly done that day of. I had to come back 3x to deal with this + eventually cancelled and went to another storage company. Such a waste of my time + the lack of communication was absurd.

The General Manager refused to remove a round U-Haul lock that I believe was placed on my unit after I rented and installed my own U-Haul padlock on it. A second locking mechanism has been placed on my unit and it is installed with the screws facing outward. It is clear to me that it was installed so that the round lock could be placed on my unit. I cannot get into my unit and the GM wants me to pay to have the lock removed at $120. I'm reporting this to corporate after I find an email that proves they added the lock.

The issue is U-Haul takes a reservation and then when it is time to pick up the rental, it is not available and the customer has to go to a different location. I was on my way to my first location and I called to be sure the truck was there, it was not there, I was re-routed to another location again the truck was not there. The 35 Oxford St. crew upgraded me from a 15 ft truck to a 26 ft truck due to availability.

To no fault of the location, the truck's electrical was not functional and therefore I could not haul a trailer with it. They had to swap me into a different truck. It ended up being a complete mess. However, the guy at this location was wonderful.

The truck was terrible because I get in it to start it & it wouldn't turn over. I tell the associate for him to tell me, that always happens, so you gotta play with it, "wait what!" Instead of giving me another truck he ends up starting it. I go & do what I had to do, I finish, I go to start the truck up at the location I was at, & the truck does not turn over again, it would not start, I couldn't even turn the key! We was stuck for 20 mins yesterday! Called UHaul & it was a 15-20 minute wait. In the meantime we tried to start the truck again & again & then it started after all that time. So my son & I lefted to bring the truck back & I spoke to the Associate at the UHaul place to let him know what happened, for him to say, "oh it did"! I am all set with this place!!

One employee tells me if I don't bring the truck back that day stated on paper , it would be no problem , I would just get charged an extra day . Fair enough . But than I kept getting calls to bring truck back when I had told your staff that truck was still half full . Very rude phone calls . Never again I will use Uhaul . Very unprofessional people . Only one guy was amazing which was guy with dreadlocks getting trucks ready and getting them cleaned after being dropped off . Older guy in the office was super rude as well .

I thought it was more than inconvenient that I had to pick up my truck at one location, and then pick up my car trailer at a different location. It just added extra stress on an already stressful situation (moving). I also think it's inconvenient to not know when/where...or what time you can pick up you truck until the day before you need it. It made it very difficult to schedule movers and plan for moving day. Lastly, picking up my truck with only a quarter tank of gas was also less than helpful, as I needed to spend 250 dollars to fill it before I even started...just to drive 40 minutes from where I picked up the truck to get the trailer.

I really don't have anything to comment regarding improving for future business, this place had it going on with great employees. The vehicle was ready to go when I got there clean witn and fuelled. I arrived later than I said I would just before closing however the employee U-Haul representative went over the vehicle and paperwork without making me feel rushed which means a lot to me . The van was dirty on the outside. The cabin was clean. The back of the van was cleared but the flooring could've used some cleaning. We laid down sheets to keep furniture and fabric from getting dirty. Overall experience was great. Wish the approval process on app would go a little faster since I'm already in the system for other rentals.

Man I really love this storage space. You have after hours access, the facility is very clean, and they have restrooms which are also always clean. The only reason I moved out is because I finally found.a decent apartment. I had a small unit inside on the first floor. No problems with water leaking in. I noticed there are mice that can get in, but they are everywhere in Providence and my unit had a mouse trap. One more thing: it is easy to pay rent here because you can pay online. I would definitely use this place again if I ever need a storage.

Moved my furniture in April of 2019 moved it out October 2021 it was in the same condition as when I moved it in thanks U-Haul hope I don’t have to use another storage but if I do I would definitely come back 5 stars

Rats ate all our home goods and clothing , everything was chewed up and my son was bit my a rat while trying to salvage some of he's electronics , horrible experience, lost over 30k in stuff that was stored . Their was rat dropping and urine on everything.

My unit was climate controlled and on the bottom level which was convenient. I was appalled at the dead mice and mice feces in/on all my furniture and cherished items I placed in this unit during Covid. I paid $4000. during this period for renting this storage unit and I had to spend lots of time cleaning mice droppings out of the furniture. I will never use Providence U-Haul ever again.

Arthur was extremely kind to us, as new storage unit renters. Since my husband and I did not know how long we'd need to rent for, he gave us our first month free! He and George were helping to train a new employee, and were very patient with him. They were all a very nice group of people. Our once concern was that our move in did not take place until after hours, and someone went into the unit who may or may not been living out of one of the storage units. Other than that, we were happy with the amount of time they spent with us, to find the right size unit.

By far the worst customer service I've ever had in any company. Place is literally a joke. I've since started using Budget rental and its a night and day difference in terms of every aspect. Been a customer for years and still get treated like garbage festering in the summer heat. Will not return to Uhaul for any business need and certainly will tell my entire network how trash of an experience I've had.
