Great customer service from the employee at the front desk. There was a mix up with my store location pick up. I reserved online and received a phone call from the National City uhaul location. The representative at that location said I would have to pick up the truck I reserved there because the truck I reserved in advance was supposedly unavailable? I drove to the preferred location off of midway drive and the service representative was able to fix my reservation and I was happy with the help. Kudos to the folks that work at this location. I wish the person at the counter would have pointed out the area on the contract that shows the estimated number of gallons to return the truck at the same fuel level as when it was picked up. I received the truck with only a quarter tank and accidentally overfilled it by 2 gallons. I would love to be reimbursed for the extra 2 gallons of fuel.Paul P.

Often takes too long to rent a vehicle because people ahead of you are slow. The process is cumbersome. if there are 2 or 3 people, you'll wait over a half hour.PAUL N.
I was contacted a day before my rental of a 15-foot truck and auto transport was to begin and was told to go to this location - far on the other side of town, even though my reservation was for a location less than 5 minutes from my house. No apology, just â€œthey don't have the equipment at the location you chose.â€ Then why did you take my reservation? Anyway, after getting to the new, farther location, they said I could load the truck first and then come back to connect the auto transport. I did that, which also meant more gas consumption because of the farther distance. The truck gets about 6-8 mpg, so that extra round trip to/from my house was an extra 1.5 gallons. Anyway, when I returned to hook on the auto transport and load my car, I paid them $20 to connect the trailer and secure my vehicle to the auto transport. I got the thumbs up that all was good to go. I was driving from San Diego to Las Vegas. My first stop was in Baker, CA for gasoline, 239 miles away. I gassed up the truck and then checked on my car and the auto transport - and good thing I did. The strap that was supposed to be holding down the left front tire was completely off, behind the tire and resting loosely. I undid the strap and re-strapped and secured the tire. I checked the other tire and all was fine. Upon arriving into Las Vegas, one of the guys who was helping me unload said he used to work for U-Haul and he said he would help me unload my car. As he crawled underneath he asked who loaded the car. I told him I paid U-Haul $20 to do it. He said there are 2 safety chains - 1 in the front and 1 in the back - that are supposed to tie the car to the auto transport. Only the back one was connected. The front one wasn't touched.MARTIN L.

Line of customers out the door; 45 minute wait.manger walked by the line several times and did nothing to help the sole counter person. I finally asked if he could help. He said, â€œI'll come back in a while and check on itâ€. Ughâ€¦what an irresponsible response. Yard attendant (white makes, 25 years old, tall, wearing a florescent orange beanie cap was lazy, didn't want to help, had a bad attitude, and blamed others instead of offering to help hook up my trailer. This particular location is always my last choice because the poor conditions are the norm, if the manger is lazy, irresponsible, and a bad leader, then you can expect the employees to act better.Steven W.

The Uhaul app to pickup the truck failed for me and several other customers. When arriving at the site it said I was not connected to a network yet speed test.net confirmed I had connectivity both using WiFi at Uhaul location and cell data via TMobile.Alan B.

Vehicle was not ready for pick up. It was in the middle of a group of vehicles, so others had to be moved, and it did not have a utility dolly in it. Local staff resolved this is friendly manner, but the improvement would be to be ready overnight for the next days customers.Colin P.

Service was as quick as possible, as many people were ahead of me in the line at the shop, but the staff was courteous when I arrived to the counter to pick up the cargo van I reserved online. Also, I needed a cargo van for an additional day than I had planned and called ahead - the team was very accommodating to the request. Return of the cargo van was easy. On a side note, when using the text message link to check the van's condition, I noticed the photo of the front of the van wasn't the same vehicle - I took a photo and submitted it via the online link.Jill E.

I can't think of one thing you could do to improve on the San Diego Midway location. The woman I delt with when picking up my vehicle couldn't have been friendlier and the same goes for the gentleman that received it upon my return. I would give this location 100 stars of I could. I reserved a furniture dolly and a regular dolly and was prompt at my 9:30 AM scheduled pick up time and was told there were no furniture dollys available even though I reserved them. I then tried to request a second dolly and I was told there were also zero on site and it's â€œfirst come first serve for dolly'sâ€. Having made a reservation I find that unacceptable to not only be told I will not get what I reserved but also there was not another regular dolly for me to have for my move. Zero discount given and the truck was dirty with trash inside. I've used this location before and had a similar experience but it's central and thought I'd give it another go. I don't think I will come back as a customer which is a disappointment as the perceived convenience is great but unfortunately falls flat. I was also told by an employee I can â€œgo to Home Depot and buy my own dollyâ€.KAT G.

We had a reservation at Hotel Circle, The truck was not there. We were then sent to Midway. We picked up a truck there only to have no gas in it, the wrong equipment that we rented to assist in our move on the inside and then charged for that incorrect equipment. your online/text/login rental pick up experience is HORRIBLE. it's broken, it times out, it doesn't save uploaded information. And your staff had no way to override or help. PLEASE FIX THIS QUICKLY or I will find another way to rent a van. I know you have a strong corner on the market... but THIS WAS SO BAD. The ganja-hat dude at the Point Loma location wasn't even pretending to be cheerful/helpful about it. I realize this is a corporate system, not particular to the location, but c'mon, be helpful. Be kind. I have never seen a staff person be so condescending and unaware of the lack of communication. He was downright mean to the girls in line in front of me. The new requirement for an additional phone number verification is a) weird, and b) not explained in advance and c) a massive slow down to the line. This was an additional unpleasantness. Overall a really great experience. Robin and Jeremy did everything to make sure I was taken care off and found a great spot for my moving out for the trailer. Dalton was the one really going above by helping position the trailer just right and making sure I didn't have to cross the incoming truck lane.
