The truck was in poor condition and could not drive in a straight line (maybe wrecked), dangerous to drive. Lady at front counter was aggravated at the many times it took to upload my drivers license, and did not hide it (too impatient for customer service). Your services to upload information was not cooperating and caused a big delay on us getting out the door. Best experience was at uhaul Plano 121, but no trucks to rent there, so had to go to one on Plano Allen.Melony M.

Reservation was made well ahead of time but there was no truck of that length available. A truck of the desired length was returned while I was there but attendant did not know how to check it in or back out to me. There were cargo vans available but keys could not be located. Keys were finally located by maintenance man who sawed off the lockbox lock. I was finally able to get the van after 1.5 hrs on site. This is not ACCEPTABLE! I paid $270 per month for over 3 years which include insurance and my wood furniture was ruined due to the lack of climate control. The week I was moving out I check the thermostat several times and it was turned off the entire time. There was no climate control in my storage unit for over 3 years which is document with photos and video. I called manager several times and I never received a return call. Took way too long. Throughout making the reservation, it never once notified me that my temporary drivers license (I'm new to the state) would not be sufficient. Luckily, my wife was able to drive over and use her out of state license. By doing this, we had to change everything to her name. Whoever helped us took way too long, was extremely disorganized, couldn't find essential tools to complete the reservation, was scattered, couldn't figure out how to charge my credit card - you name it. It took over an hour just to get the truck. I would assume most people renting a truck are on a time crunch and don't have over an hour to spend waiting for someone to complete a simple transaction. Definitely NOT worth the $100 I spent to rent the truck. Maybe I'll use Home Depot or Lowe's next time.Rachael Charon W.

The older lady checking people in had zero time awareness. By the time I got to the counter I said I have a reservation for the 15' truck, her response was a laugh and a story to say the keys for the truck are missing. After asking if I could go look at the truck to see if they're in there (asking to do her job) I was able to find the keys in the ignition. She also told me that I didn't need so many boxes for a moving project she had no idea what I was doing. What should have taken less than 15 minutes took over 30.Lee B.

The unit I rented had a broken rollup door. It was never fixed. I was promised several times that it would be fixed before my next visit. I had to prop it up with a long pole so they did not fall down and hit me in the head as it did several times and had to use a pole to push it from the insideto get it to go down all the way. I have never had these issues renting a unit. I moved out before my month ended. Would like a complete refund due to the huge inconveniences I experienced. Also they still have a key to my lock. This was a nightmare of a rental. The "service air bag" light came on and the left rear turn signal didn't work. It took multiple phone calls and two plus days to get the van serviced. Roadside service was terrible. They scheduled someone to come out to fix van - but they never showed up. I was told I had to find my own replacement van, only to be told by the place that they wouldn't replace the van. Eventually after more calls and complaints roadside service sent someone out to fix the problems. I couldn't load van for two days because I was initially told it had to be towed. This extended my trip and rental by more than two days. The U-Haul didn't provide nearly enough compensation for problems I had with their equipment.Tracy S.

The van was all beat up, scratched, dented on all sides, the inside was patched up. It was a piece of junk. The suspension was shot. If I had been hauling anything glass, then it would all be shattered. The side mirrors kept needing adjustmentâ€"very dangerous. Driving at 20 miles per hour the entire van was rattling. When we returned the van, we had to contend with a person who arrived on a bike (homeless person), disheveled, smelled who entered the building while the van was being checked in. He was mumbling to himself and to my wife and me. He went behind the counter and into a back room. Then he came out and left in the direction of the storage units. It was scary for my wife. I consider this to be an unsafe U-Haul location.Stephen W.

James, who checked the truck back in, was great, but the lady handling the rentals when they opened was horrible. We were the first people there on Sunday at 5 minutes till 9, and we didn't leave the site until 9:30. Terribly inefficient and even overtly rude. She had five customers behind us waiting in line and even that did not spur her on. She should not be permitted to interact with customers because you are paying for the use of the truck while she fiddles in performing her duties. I'm sure the people behind us lost more than an hour of their time. Stay away from this location.Diane W.

This isn't a comment on the location or about the people at this location (they are great), but a general comment to corporate UHAUL. If UHAUL asks if a customer wants a dolly and/or furniture pads and the customer says no....take the equipment out of the truck, so we have that room available for our items in the vehicle. If we were to have removed them and broken the green thing securing them, then we would have been charged for them, because it would have appeared that we used them, even if we did not.John D.

U-Haul policy need to be improved. I recently moved from California to Texas and i am still to apply for TX Driving license. My rental was rejected due to non-state DL. Moving put was a hassle. We had lost the key to one of the units and we were previously told the facility could cut the lock for $50. On moving day we were told they cant die to some policy which they didn't care to show us, we had to get a locksmith who was 45 minutes away and spent $80 plus an additional hour to the movers $76. Not nice. Also, we had a dinning table stored there but on moving out we didn't see it. My daughters drawings who passed away were ruined. Take note I was in a climate control unit that was full of MOLD. I have the pics. Bobbie the Manager was delightful when I was going to rent a unit. She never took my calls again. The only one that is kind there is the tall African America young man that work there and she does not treat him well. Bobbie was in the office and she could hear me speaking about my daughters art, but never came out to speak with me. She needs another job. Came in to sign the documents for the storage unit I had reserved. Unit WAS NOT AVAILABLE and paper work/contract couldn't be found. Ended up getting a unit on the second floor. Definitely not happy with the location and service received. Tried to contact them to see if the initial unit on the first floor had been located but no one answered the phone. This location is being run like a 3 ring CIRCUS with a CLOWN obviously in charge. I was lied to from the start and from 1 person / business owner to a management "team" that is uncalled for! Why lie about something as simple as accessible hours to get into a business suite I was going to use for my business. To be able to put a roof over my family/kids at night. I was ignored when I would text asking questions and never received a contract of any sort the whole time. Craziest thing a complete 180 in how it started. Sucks. Steven is one of the most outstanding Corp reps I have had the pleasure to do business with. I'm 73 yo and I'd rate him in the top 5 of my lifetime. I expect he will be a steady climber in the U-Haul ranks. I contacted Uhaul several times while driving from Nashville to Dallas with extreme wait times for each call. I was finally given a reservation at the location I requested for a drive up unit. Upon arrival the type of unit I requested was not honored by either manager Scott or Bobbi when I arrived at the Plano Allen location. I was instructed to call the Uhaul customer service line where I AGAIN waited in access of 20 minutes on hold. The customer service representative AGAIN booked a drive up unit first month free, added my credit card for automatic billing, said I was set to go. I returned to the counter where I was delayed once AGAIN when the manager couldn't initiate the contract that was started by customer service. After he (Scott) made several calls for help and almost TWO HOURS later he gave me a unit and asked me to return after my HIRED guys unloaded and he should have the help he requested to complete the contract. After unloading a full truck the contract still had not been done properly. I received a call the following day where I had to give all of my credit card information AGAIN to initiate the contract! How many people, calls and hours should it take to perform a service? I paid my guys for hours of waiting around and then paid to finally unload my truck! Time is money! To say I am beyond frustrated, tired and outdone would be an understatement! Very poor customer service and no desire was apparent to obtain customer satisfaction! There was a ton of misinformation... not everyone is on the same page, at this location. There were offers made that were incorrect and/or not verified. This led to us having to quickly move items... with only a few days notice. The storage unit that we were told was good through the end of March, because of our multiple vehicle rentals, ended up only being good until February 28th (which still wasn't the 30 days that we were told was the contract period). We called and were assured it was fixed and we'd receive a follow up call. It wasn't and we didn't. The next call was about a week later telling us that the rental period was up. Receipts weren't emailed and couldn't be printed. The manager was nice but that didn't fix any of the issues we had to try to figure out due to their mistakes. This unit was much smaller and almost three times the price of one we found at another location with a much smoother process/better communication/ extended hours. If you've got time and money to waste, this is your place. If not, be warned.roshonda w. | Overall Experience
