The representative who confirmed my after hours pick up did not do something on the online end, I called customer support and they were somehow able to change my "reservation has expired" to all well and good. However, this caused about a half hour delay during the worst heat wave the east coast has seen and extreme stress. Not to mention inconvenienced the help we recruited to load and unload our rented truck. I don't know how to train for this situation to not recur, this seemed like absent mindedness. But it led to stress and frustration during a process (moving) that is already stressful and easy to frustrate.

I disputed the mileage on my bill. The manager ended crediting me about 20 miles so I am grateful for that. However I had to call twice to get it done. The 2nd was very polite and accommodating. The 1st was not. The response to the milage dispute was so what do you want me to do about it. When I asked for the manager, he took my number and said he would call me back. The call never came, hence my 2nd call in.

Offer mini vans. I found no mini vans being offered in the U-Haul fleet which would have been perfect for the load I needed to move. The computer on the truck I rented reported an average fuel consumption of about 12 miles per gallon. It used $50 in gas. A mini van would have only used $25. Mini vans have factory options without back seats and are great for moving cargo.

Maybe be more clear about the return line where you should park your vehicle when returning. I returned the cargo van in a thunderstorm. It was very hard to see exactly where to park it. At first I parked the the lot next to the return line. Luckily my son saw the return line and I was able to move the vehicle there.

Answer the phone! Every time I tried to call no one would answer the phone. They also did not keep me updated about the status of my box when the shipping was delayed. The final location also waited until the last minute to call me about delivery.

The storage experience was really unsatisfactory. The storage has only one elevator and we had to swipe the card every single time!! Also, one of the staff was a little rude.

Originally booked with this location. Cargo trailer was not available and order was cancelled they day before my move. It was passed to 3 other uhaul locations before someone had any cargo trailers available. I took the smaller trailer but had to pay my movers for an extra 2 hours (an additional $175) because of the issue.

I probably had the worst u-haul experience I have ever had. Ever. I tried using the 24/7 truck share because I needed to return the truck after hours. I get there and the truck is not where it was supposed to be, AT ALL. It was on the complete other side of the building. When I found the truck, the uhaul worker said that the key box was back on the other side of the building. So that was fun. And then, get this, my keys were actually inside at the customer counter. How would I have been able to get my truck if this was after hours? The best part was when I went inside to get the keys and no one could find them. Finally, some buddy boy showed up 30 minutes late for work and had the keys IN HIS BACKPACK! WHAT THE ACTUAL F***?!?!?! Whatever. I got my truck, used it, and brought it back. The app told me to put the keys in the drop box but 1) did not tell me which side of the building and 2) did not tell me what number to put it in. So I just picked one and hoped for the best. Luckily, I got a call the next morning and the guy working asked where I left the keys so I was able to tell him. But, seriously?!?!? Whatever. Moving sucked, so I will probably never do it again anyway, but I don't know that I will be using u-haul the next time around. Thank you for your time. Good day.

We rented the u haul to move a couch we were buying but we ended up not purchasing the couch and returned the uhaul about 20 minutes after renting it. Putting only 2 miles on it. We were still charged 40 dollars for the 2 miles we used. I feel that it at least should have been half price for returning it without using it.

I was unable to open the trailer. It had a failure in the door rollers. I had traveled 42 miles to pick it up because there were no other trailers close to Latrobe. Once I got home, I could not open. I went to Greensburg U-Haul to get help. Greg and Doug help me out to force the trailer open and to rig it so that I could use it. It was after ours. The people in Greensburg were very helpful. The truck's ignition key only worked if inserted one way -- it did not work if inserted "up side down." A warning about this would have been nice. Otherwise the rental was fine.

We picked up our rental van with the gas tank "5/8" full. When returning the van it was a pain in the rear to try and guess the mark on the fuel gauge that was 5/8, then fill to this exact mark; the increments on the fuel gauge are not 1/8.

The guys at the Liberty location were lovely, except no one told me how long my rental was for. I had requested 24 hours of use, and i got home after picking up the U-Haul to a text that said I had it for four hours. I went online to the chat thing and the woman there told me she could only extend it until 7:30 the next morning, we’ll before I’d get keys to my new unit. She gave me a local number to call to ask to be extended. That woman told me she could extend my truck but I’d be ‘taking it away from another family that needs it’. I fail to see how this is my problem, as I’m not doing the scheduling and i had requested 24 hrs from the jump. I told her this and she said she’d extend it, then hung up on me.

When you give the truck to customer, walk through the truck interior and exterior with them and not just try to give and leave, you should even show customer all the driving side functions to operate the truck. I had to figure all out by myself and I didn't have much time to spend so lot of wastage of my time as I had the tight timeline. Life would have been much easier of uhaul representative had showed me all of that.

I rented a 9' cargo van. I traveled a total of 14 miles, 10 miles of which the van was empty. As required, I filled the fuel tank prior to returning the van. To do so required 5 gallons of gas. There's no way the van's fuel tank was full when I first received the vehicle.

I had difficulty opened the latch, so I drove to Bigelow Uhaul location to ask for help, but the staff was very indifferent and asked me to go to 3000, Liberty Avenue, where I rent the truck.

The staff was very helpful when I went to secure a storage unit for my son's items when he graduated from Pitt till he moved into his apartment in Aug. It was very easy, convenient and great service!

Cost adders. Must have their lock at adddd fee. Though there was never any human interaction going to the unit, there is a fee to do it “after hours”. It’s just a shady way to extort more money.
