Very friendly staff - nice, efficient check out. Someone had clearly been smoking in the cab of the truck. The support staff sprayed it down for me, but every time I got in the truck I smelled cigarette smoke. My clothes smelled like it. The biggest problem I had was that the truck was not water tight. I drove through a day's worth of rain. When I went to unload the truck, my boxes and furniture at the rear and right side of the truck were soaked.

There was little communication on a time-frame. I reserved for 11 and arrived at 12 noon to be told that I was late and they did not reserve my items even though policy gives me an hour window. I was not provided the requested dollies as they were given away.

I was disappointed to have booked a dolly online and then to find that there were none when I went to pick up the truck. This would not be an acceptable situation for the truck itself, so why is it the business model for other essential equipment? There are some things we simply cannot lift without a dolly.

Thing to improve is to make sure the vehicle is in stock. I was there at the proper time and the vehicle wasn't on site. I wanted a cargo van and they had to lend me a cube van. I made sure they give it to me for the same price as the cargo van. I had some help for my move with a person who came hours away outside the city. So I absolutely needed a truck now. I got a feeling that the cargo van wouldn't be in stock. I specifically ask the employee the day before what would happen if the cargo van wasn't in stock. And it wasn't in stock as I suspected. So they had to give me a bigger truck which I didn't need.

The in person computer payment system was far too buggy. The scanner payment machine at the kiosk was completely unresponsive (even to its own attached digital selection pen), so my payment needed to be inputted manually by the agent. This among other issues pertaining to the systems' general slowness made my exchange substantially longer…even multiple staff members were audibly frustrated with other general shortcomings of the buggy computer system when dealing with other customers. Very slow service.

Your Trailer pricing is out of this world and needs to be revised. From Ottawa to Timmins with a 6x12 trailer, the cost was 5000$!! I'm better of buying a brand new one. I did not proceed with this and went for a 10 Foot Truck that was still $1700. That's unreal and unacceptable when people are just trying to move homes.

There is no integrity or accountability let alone transparency in NOT recording mileage anywhere shared with customers let alone disallowing screen shots of the odometer taken by phone before departure and upon return. I will never rent from u Haul again and will share my horrific experience including being asked to leave when i suggested that for the benefit of others a sign be put up informing them that using your phone to record mileage would not be accepted. Such horrific business practices in this day and age.

Have someone in UHaul answer the phone. I attempted six times to confirm my apptmt but was bumped to the UHaul US customer line which stated they were all busy with other customers. Original booking promised an email and text to confirm...nothing ever came. Don't change appointment without confirming with customer. Don't just send a text with an apptmt time w/o including that the original appointment was changed due to Uhaul parts/labor.

The counters are always understaffed and there are long lineups of people waiting to be served. I have to budget a half hour wait when I rent a truck and honestly, I would prefer to pay a bit more somewhere else to be in and out quickly.

Unprofessional stuff. Ruined my move into a new home. Picked up truck at 6:30pm explained I'm going to furniture store to get sofa and I'm coming back to get my stuff from the storage and I specifically asked if I'm ok to access the storage after 7pm closing time and I was told that's fine. On my big surprise I couldn't access the storage cuz they put a second lock that I didn't have a key for. Had to turn around and leave plus send home friends that came to help. Next morning I asked manager Ben again why is this happening. His answer was there's no access to the storage after 7pm....the evening before he said opposite. So dear u haul you lost me as a customer forever.

The online reserving and return was great for flexibility. Although, upon arrival I was having difficulty taking pictures of my license. So I decided to go into the store to rent. Upon purchase I was told I could not rent the cargo van without a major visa. Although, I could rent a larger 10' truck and some other larger truck. I couldn't get a smaller lesser value with debit visa. Very strange but was time sensitive and did not own a vehicle large enough for my task. What I estimated online was $70ish came up to $125 for 4 hours , ouch. What ever, I bended as I needed to pick up my couch I found on Facebook. I was then given a contract on how to fill the tank to 3/4 full. If I wasn't busy enough I needed to make sure I had to return a tank to 3/4 not full. I have never seen that. If I filled over 3/4 I would not be compensated for the full tank. This is very tedious and frustrating. The truck had a bag of peanuts still in the truck. Which indicates to me cleaning was not done before I rented the truck. The gas was below the 3/4 mark which meant I knew I would have to swallow that cost too. I took a picture bit again What ever keep going. The truck very noisy the breaks needed a hard push to stop. On a sea of trucks I wasn't given direction where to find my truck. An hour later into my time for reservation and finding my truck gone. Although frustrating it was my solution to doing my task. Uhaul will not be my first task on my next large pick up project, if ever happening. I'm a single mother with limited income. I thought I was getting a cargo van at $70 dollars tops. I was picking up a couch set for $80 that suited my one bedroom apartment I can afford in my single income. I sleep in the living room and this couch would allow us normality of a livingroom. The truck cost more than my affordable couch. I felt cornered and expenses just kept adding up in crunch timing. Thank you Uhaul for a life lesson and making life progression harder. My suggestion fill your gas tanks. Figure out a better deposit and payment option. Your online check in was ok and your counter staff did their jobs very well as professional as possible. Your cleaning is doubtable. I am very hesitant if I would be a returning customer.

The mobile check-in took 45 minutes!!! Including the fact that the location finder was not working, the photos took several tries to upload, the vehicle couldn't be found. The 3rd party identity check didn't;'t work because the person's phone ringer was off. I had to end up waiting in line to get help. I had to wait also for someone outside to help as the vehicle was not accessible. I was late for the people helping me move and the whole experience was very frustrating.

Your website does not match the information at the location. They were disconnected. This needs to be remedied since online transactions are far more convenient. The person at the desk wasn't overly helpful. Also the furniture Dolly want available which was a big problem for us and meant heavy items needed to be carried. This was ac huge negative.

When I picked up the trailer the lot person said “park there in the open area I'll bring the trailer to you”. He then hooked it up, tested the lights and sent me in my way with “when you return the lot person will instruct you where to leave it” I returned and had to stop and go inside to ask where I should unhook. “Park it in the row you got it”. Not a great plan since it was brought to me in the open area. Morning crew was helpful, afternoon guy seemed like I was bothering him!

I took the vehicle for three days and someone from U-haul called me after two days and asked if we can return vehicle same day at night as there was a client coming to pick up at 8 am the following day and I accepted and returned vehicle as a courtesy after two days instead of three , however; still got charged for three days and the manager doesn't care in the location as he advised I took it two days and three hours , so the three hours is considered a full day. I find this unfair treatment and instead of appreciating your client that out of courtesy returning vehicle early as requested , you charge him and another client for the same date. Really poor service and unexpected from a company like yours. If this issue is not resolved as soon as possible and a manager contacts me. I will report to the BBB and the media.

Customer service in the store. It took quite a long time to wait for registering. I had used the Web site but it still took 10 minutes. I could not upload my PDF drivers licence and when we got to the store we waited in line for 30 minutes before we got served where it took another 10 minutes.

I think this place is perfect, from the employee down to the truck. I took last minute to book this but after that it was smooth sailing and relieved. Unlike in Gestionnaire immobiliere in St. Joseph gatineau, I waited on hour just to get the truck and the employee did not show up to give the key and I did some follow ups twice in their office in person. Think of it I have a baby waiting in the car. I was outside back and forth to check the office and the baby. Absolutely a hundred percent unprofessional and dissapointing.

Terrible office and access hours, could not move in the first day I arrived because they close at 7pm not allowing anyone who works a job to get there in time. I arrived at 630pm and was told there was not enough time to unload before closing, so I had to put an additional 30Km on the rental truck to come back the following day. When I did check in on the 2nd attempt I was forced to buy a lock from U-Haul any way to get more money I guess,

The staff at the desk made fun of three customers (as they interacted with them at the desk, he was verbally just rude and it was absolutely unbelievable. He tried this with me as I went to the counter and I told him clearly that wasn't going to happen. Was a terrible customer experience

We did not move into the facility and found storage elsewhere. The staff member at the desk was the most horrific example of "customer service " I have ever seen. He was mocking other customers while I was in line waiting, he was rude, he was just generally the worst example of retail interaction we have ever seen. We cancelled everything and left.
