KENNETH SSingle handedly the worst moving experience ever…by far. The first truck was trash, the movers they sent to transfer my belonging from one truck to another, not only smashed everything in to make it fit however they could, but also pack the truck backwards from the way that I had it packed. They also took 7 1/2 hours to do so. This delayed our departure to the evening and stretched our drive to the destination from 19 hours to 40 hours. When we arrived at midnight, we were forced to unpack the entire truck just to get our beds out so that we could sleep. Many of the boxes were smashed. A lot of our belongings were damaged. Not to mention the second truck was also trash. The alignment was off on the front end on both trucks causing them to vibrate violently at speeds over 55. The second truck also had major suspension issues. I personally found this comical, seeing as how "gentle ride" is written on the side of the truck. The haul in Fargo offered movers to help with the unloading but this was worthless as we arrived at midnight, and unpacked the trucks for our beds, re-located to the back of the truck. I missed two days of work, my wife missed two days of work, and my children missed school at our new destination. My wife missed her flight back to our point of origin with a non-refundable ticket costing us an additional $400. Not to mention the fact that we put $58 in gas in the first truck that we didn't even get to drive. I will absolutely choose a different way to move the next time. U-Haul has not reached out to me in any way shape or form to refund any of the money that I paid for this disaster. Additionally, due to the missed work and extra time on the road And miserable overall experience we are out thousands of dollars over and above what it cost us to rent the vehicle.

Bradley MI thought I had to do the manual check in because when I selected my pick up time it said it was outside of the manned hours but there were people working so I wasted some time waiting for the online check in to get processed before I realized I could go inside. The workers helped me out quickly though. Great service!

Kyle RI was defrauded overcharged on mileage at weekend rates. I told the employee I am rescinding the final charges authorization to my credit card. I will be didputing. i expect a call from customer services to resolve this matter. asap
RICHARD KI reserved a U-Haul on Friday. Nobody ever walked around the vehicle with me. We then packed it on Friday. I woke up Saturday with the check engine light on came on. So I asked to return the vehicle back in Saturday morning. The general manager did three things I am upset about: 1) did not let me update my contract with my father until I insisted; 2) did not offer any help herself or her employees to transfer the items I had from the Friday Truck to the new Truck; 3) the general manager again did not walk me around the new truck for me to record the damage. It was a poor experience, the general manager fails to understand that she works in a job where the people she encounters are stressed and exhausted from moving. When interacting with the general manager she is unhelpful until you literally ask a 2nd or 3rd time (whether it is to upload a drivers license; find moving boxes; or update a contract). I am very upset with my U-haul experience. Thank you for allowing me to provide this feedback.

BRADLEY S | Overall ExperienceI had reserved a 26' truck, and when I got to the location, it said that the equipment had not been assigned to me yet. I then had to reserve a new truck. Then I had to get verified by having them call someone I knew. When I returned the truck, the app kept spinning. I went inside the store and asked them if my truck showed as checked in and they said yes. I told them that the app wasn't letting me check the truck in, and they said that a lot of people have issues with the app and complain about it. Overall, it was a terrible rental experience.

randy s | Overall ExperienceApp crashed on me multiple times and said the site was temporarily unavailable and when I eventually got in, it crashed again on step 5. I verified cleanliness, but I did not get to upload the pictures of all the angles. It will not let me go back into it. I will not be happy if I get charged the $20.

ken gI was asked provide an alternative contact and they called them immediately. Luckily, my daughter picked up, but I think it would be nice to be able to send my alternative contact a text letting them know that U-haul may be calling instead of random phone number popping up in her screen.
James MWithin the first few weeks of having my Uhaul it was broken into and stolen from, when I first got it I noticed there was ice in the tracks and the staff couldn't offer anything to help remove the ice causing the unit securement issues. The added insurance I got offered no assistance so I bit the bullet on the issue, which t wasn't until recently when they announced price hikes in where I elected to check out of my Uhaul and spread my belongings to my parents house and brothers house.

The staff was excellent and gave me a map directly to my storage unit, explaining everything in sufficient detail. Thank you for such a professional, helpful experience.

When I called back, I find they had canceled my unit . I had to go thru and redo paperwork, while I was working. So they canceled without even talking to me. Just so happened I check messages that day. The green tag was in the door still showing I hadn't even entered yet. I wasn't moving stuff till Saturday. I was told because I didn't put my lock on, that it showed I had moved out. Seriously? In and out in not even 48 hours? That just makes me worried now! Did I choose the right place to store my stuff?!?!?

Jennifer B | Overall ExperienceOverall a decent experience, the place was clean - no rodents or pests. Great location, easy to access units. My only suggestion is that there be more upfront information about what one would consider "climate controlled." There is a small residential dehumidifier that is run during the summer, but other than that your belongings are not climate controlled. The dehumidifier was not able to keep up with the moisture in the air and all of my cardboard boxes released the tape and crumpled in on themselves. Any items you may have that might freeze, or shouldn't be held in higher temperatures shouldn't be stored there, and having wood pallets in the units we were in are a must as there is standing water in the units after rainfall and snowmelt. Again, overall decent experience… we've rented and stored with you before, but this was the first time we had issues with standing water.

There was a mix up on uhauls side in regards to the actual unit I was in and would not let us in our unit. I had to ask him to not raise his voice to me, i believe highly that I was being dissipated against as he made it very obvious that he thought I was there to steal something. I would ask you to look at your cameras and review the situation at hand. I on the other hand have quite the letter made to send to corporate to state the incident

Stephany W | Online Move InWhen I was checking out (after swiping my card) it gave me an error message. It worked when I checked in, but not when I tried checking out (and I tried swiping out maybe 3 times). So I went to the front desk and explained what happened. The person at the front desk ended up canceling my rental unit (as he thought I wanted to cancel versus just fixing the check-out (due to the error message, that I had explained to him what happened when I received that error message). I wasn't aware that he was canceling until he printed out something for me to sign, and and I asked about that - he then said needed that as I was canceling my rental. I again told him I was not canceling, rather just needed the error message taken care of as the swiping of my card errored out, and my checkout was not successful. Long story short, it took quite some time to get me reinstated (and since I had prepaid he had mentioned the credit due to his misunderstanding would be offset by the same charge as the credit. When I checked my credit card, it was not the same. The manager called me back later, and explained why, and the additional charge between the credit and the charge would be applied to a future payment (my current rental would have expired 4/13/2024 and he then said it would be 5/14/2023. The person who misunderstood and cancelled my contract, if he did not understand what I had explained (in that I just needed the error message corrected so I could check out) should have asked me before canceling (as again, I did not know he was canceling until he gave me the paper to sign)! Anyway - I believe the manager made this right (I should know on May 13, 2024 (as that will be the end of my current contract term). Then after that date, I will do the "annual renewal", pay in advance for the next year and receive 1 month free for doing the annual renewal. Gary Bakke

I came in a little hot because of the confusion about reservation versus rental, and I was worried because I had already made moving arrangements for today 11/8. She was very calm and patient, and very efficiently figured out and set up a solution. Major kudos, as I know I was probably on the verge of being a difficult customer but we figured it out!!! Super sweet and really appreciated her. :)

Now I am wasting my time providing documentation and pricing for all the items they haphazardly discarded. I am also waiting to see if I will be reimbursed fully, at a depreciation rate at all for uhaul horribly inexcusable error. Uhaul should follow the motto you lose, we lose. Thus is the most extreme error a storage company could ever make. Uhaul should admit it and learn from it and not make your customers suffer do to your inadequacies. I have filed a dispute form and am in process of working with a uhaul insurance adjuster. This has been a horrible experience for me.

I really don't understand the reason for that since we literally are not storing anything during the month of October and you can know rent it immediately and make double money for the month. I went in on Monday and only the truck was reserved causing me to stress and frantically try and fine another storage facility, luckily I made it with 15min of them being open, this was the west Fargo uhaul who was extremely helpful but not the 13th street uhaul. U-Haul caused moving to be nothing but stress and frustration. I am very disappointed and would never recommend or go back.
