Everything was fine and I have no complaints. I was greeted with a smile by all employees and the entire installation was about 1 hour from the time I arrived to departure. A special mention to Melanie at the counter who also took the time to answer all my questions about e-bikes racks and made my stay enjoyable. Couldn't be happier. Thank you

I was told by the lady at counter that i will only have to either fill the tank or give the fuel money. She did not mention about the $30 fuel fee. When asked she said even i am seeing it for the 1st time n hence did not tell you in the beginning. This is such a scam to not tell customers about this hidden fee on top of the fuel cost. The lady at counter asked me to call back on sunday to enquire about this as she was unaware of this fee and did not know how to refund me. This is a bad customer service. The lady at counter should have told me first and if she was unaware then i should not be charged additional fee for it.

Just one staff member on duty at reception. I arrived 10 minutes early for arranged pick up of a trailer and had to wait 40 minutes to be served. I had to go looking for a lot attendant and found two people hooking up the same trailer. When my trailer was hooked up, one of the signal lights was defective and I had to go back into the office to have the contract amended. Overall, it took over an hour to rent a trailer which I had already reserved and checked in on line. Needed improvements are obvious….have adequate staff on duty, check equipment to identify defects before hooking up and have a better system for customers to link up with lot staff so customers don’t have to wander around hoping to find someone.

We rented a 10ft truck to move furniture from our garage to our storage unit. On both the date we booked and the day of pick-up the business was understaffed resulting in long wait times. We had booked for a Saturday morning at 9am and arrived at 845 to pick up the vehicle. By the time the lone staff member in the office could serve us it was 9:25 and we stood in line the whole time. Recognizing they were busy, we quickly drove home, loaded went to the storage unit unloaded and drove directly back to U-Haul. We had the vehicle less than 2 hours and travelled 9 miles and shut the vehicle off loading and unloading. The gas gauge never moved. Upon returning we were additionally charged for gas, and given no credit for under estimating our mileage and time of use. I will say, staff were friendly, and courteous but there was not enough of them. There was zero considerations given to all of the renters who were late getting their vehicles (we were certainly not the only ones who waited in long lines). And even when we tried to assist by bringing the vehicle back early and which we had cleaned, we were presented with a small additional gas charge. If staffing is an issue, perhaps adding additional self check-in and check-out stations at the locations would be beneficial. And customer service still goes a long way.As a customer, if late or over mileage etc I expect to pay more for my error. But I also expect the same from the business I am dealing with. Want to add again, the staff we dealt with were very nice, but felt the transaction could have been handled better

This location needs to have more staff for processing clients at check in. I waited 30 minutes and barely moved in the line. It was a Saturday am at 9 and there was only one person working the check in counter. This is a complaint I read at lot on your website for this location. I was in line so long I was able to start and finish the online check in “Truck Share” process and leave before barely moving in the line. When I left there were still 5 clients ahead of me and 10 or more behind me. Do better. My truck was fine and the return was easy.

I recently rented as per contract #76070966. I submitted a negative review on-line. The ownership of this franchise needs to seriously look at customer service. On a busy Sat morning, there was only 1 agent working at the desk and from what I saw, only 2 people working out in the yard. This was totally unacceptable and the management of this franchise must take immediate action. Based on customer reviews, I won't be the only one avoiding this location until the ratings change. A huge THANK YOU to the two women who staffed the front desk at the Innes location last Easter weekend -- they were so nice and helpful ! My daughter and I were able to save a lot of time and money with their suggestion that we rent a pod there in Ottawa rather than truck all of our stuff to Toronto and put it into a pod there. They went above and beyond to help us, and we really appreciated their patience and good humour.

I came to this store to pick up a ride share trailer. The truck that I had rented in Kingston had a check engine light showing,. This location swapped out the truck and even provided an employee to help me move the contents of the truck into the new one. The manager could not have been more helpful. She acted promptly to fix a problem that she had no part in creating and even started the paperwork to get me a refund on the fuel that I had just put into the faulty truck.

I was given the oldest, beat up truck they could find for a 1,600+ mile drive. I was told 'we send all of the old units to the US to retire'. I did not feel save driving this truck 100 miles let alone 1,600. They had a fleet of newer, much safer looking trucks on the lot and nobody seemed to consider the length of my drive when handing out this very tired truck. The service light came on less than a quarter of the way to my destination and some of the tires were questionable. I also had trouble getting it started twice. The truck was full of garbage when I picked it up. It was disgusting... I had to clean and disinfect it before my drive and I returned it cleaner that I received it. I honestly feel like I should have been paid to drive this vehicle to the US to help U-Haul 'retire' this unit but nope, I actually paid over $4,000 for the pleasure... I am sure there would have been a better way of getting this thing to the US if that was he end game while putting a customer in a safer, more reliable truck lending to a much more enjoyable, stress free experience.

This rating is not a representation of the customer service but of the inadequate service of Headquarters as it was mentioned to me that all U-Haul centres experiences significant systems delays and shutdowns every end of month and Arizona office hasn’t done anything to helps its employees and customers. Traffic was rude on the phone and may need some sensitivity training on how to speak to unsatisfied customers

A few things that first time senior citizens renters like me would appreciate: Location of the place to fill up the gas tank How to work the cruise control - if not used to driving vans such as yours, it's hard to keep; your eyes on the road while making sure one is not speeding. Only my third attempt to install the hitch eventually succeeded. The first attempt on Sat failed, as it appeared that my car was a bit rusty, so the mechanic said that he needed more time than the 0.5h scheduler initially, during the online reservation. As the mechanic didn't have enough time buffer that day, the installation was rescheduled to the next Sat. On the next Sat, during the installation, it appeared that the hatch receiver was actually out of stock. I was told that the U-Haul centre would ask other centres for the hitch receiver, and then they would call me back. As I didn't receive any calls within a week after that, I called the centre myself on Fri, and was told that the centre got the receiver, but for some reason, my pre-scheduled Sat appointment will happen at 7AM, instead of 12PM. Fortunately, I was able to arrive at 7AM and finally got the installation. Bottom lines: 1) I like the quality of the hitch receiver itself, and the installation labor 2) I don't really like that I had to drive to the U-Haul centre three times, and the absence of notifications about the hitch obtaining, and the appointment re-scheduling.

I arrived to find the trailer I ordered was damaged. The staff weren't terribly sympathetic, though they directed me to a different location. Still, larger outlets like this one are more professional than the mom and pop Uhaul outlets attached to other businesses; they are terrible. Overall, this industry needs more competition.

A day before the drive I got an offer from U-Haul getting a bigger truck and a lesser price. When I got to the U-Haul at the at the location I didn't got the discount that I was offer. The truck that I was supposed to take was locked between other trucks and the driver wasn't willing to help me getting the truck out of the truck lot. So overall not a very good experience

Hi Everything was fine except the person at the counter is not helpful at all. She looks always tired and like she doesn't like her job at all. Is not my first I have to ask her a question or a service. She is always like " I don;t care",is not my business,I don't give a shit.. She makes feel the customer that he he is always asking stupid and useless questions.Anyways, she should some training in customer service. The company and the service they provide are great but one employee can make the experience very disappointing Other than that I have been using the units and trucks for long time and no issues. All I would like to see is better attention at the counter during business hours Thanks

Some minor issues with the truck. The driver's side wiper blade needs to be replaced The headlights are not aimed correctly The transmission downshifts roughly, should check on that before it gets worse The parking brake release is dodgy, I had to reapply the parking brake and re-release it a second time to get it to disengage the brake.

The cabin of the truck was not clean. The floor was dirty with salt, had dust and dirt in the cupholders. It had definitely not been cleaned for multiple rentals. When I tried to specify this after the rental, the app wanted to charge me an additional fee of $25. My rental cost was about $50. Other than this cleanliness issue I could have resolved with 2 or 3 wet wipes, everything was great. I would have given a score of excellent. Thank you.

I know sometimes things get busy and this location has both vehicule and storage room rentals. A destintion in the line up could be made(How?? I do not know) between the two. I had a vehicule reserved and we stood in line for quite a bit of time and that was due to people renting a locker or something.. which seems to need a lot of checks(as expected), but it kept the other people in line waiting for service. But overall, I was very pleased with the service received.

Terry was very helpful. He showed me how to get to the locker, the locker itself, how to put on the lock, where the loading dock was, where the dollies were, how to enter the code to disarm the alarm, how to unlock the outside door, where the indoor loading dock was. He must do this dozens of times per day, but he was very patient and helpful.

Aside from some reservation confusion which was eventually resolved, the move-in experience was handled efficiently and quickly to complete required paperwork and access a convenient storage unit to meet our needs. Very sensitive and helpful employees who took personal time to come with me to ensure I knew what to do before movers arrived with our household effects to place into storage. Many thanks to the staff for all the prior information as well.

Took advantage of the free month offer as I had rented a 26ft truck with a 5x8 trailer. I must say that it was very helpful to us and a very positive experience. My only recommendation when designing future facilities is that it would be nice if the inside loading/unloading areas were designed so that you pull through instead of having to back in. Just a bit of a pain with a trailer.

I had come at the end of the month on a Saturday afternoon not thinking about the extra business they might be taking care of. The two Ladies were very friendly and provided excellent service. I was adding an additional unit to my contract which took no time at all. I was informed to use the call box if when I got to the unit there was a pad lock on it. There was and one of the Ladies was right over when I let them know. I have worked directly with customers in almost all my work and these two were amazing even on a crazy busy day.

We received an email from U-Haul saying that we were eligible for a few unit. So we decided to go with u-haul again for our now 3rd unit and when I made the reservation they said that shouldn't be a problem and they could apply that when we go in to confirm our booking. But when our employee went and booked he had to pay. I called and they said that they couldn't access this and a manager would call me back, but no one has. The reservation email also said (in bold letters) FREE lock, and we had to pay for the lock. So there is miscommunication and misleading information. It doesn't make us confident with U-Haul. We've been clients and have had a company profile for years now, have 3 storage units with you, we rent trucks on a frequent basis and occasional units for clients, and we are just trying to obtain the free 1st month promotion we received via email. Although, the overall experience with respect to storage was excellent. I was upset at UHaul policy with billing. When I first signed up for storage, it was pro-rated based on day of month I started. I had storage for several months and checked out days after being billed for a complete month. The associate at UHaul informed me there is no Pro-rating upon checkout. That’s very upsetting as I had to pay the entire month even though I checked out. On that basis, I wouldn’t recommend UHaul to anyone… sorry, I was ripped off because of this!

The washroom at the facility was disgusting. The ladies did not want to use it. Because of this I rated low. This cant happen again The access, available equipment and building set up was well thought out. .

The people and the facility are fine. Two things happened though, one when a mishap made that I had the wrong storage unit than the one reserved. Another unit was given after some time and back and forth. I had a truck full and two paid men waiting for two hours worth of salary.They compensated with a bigger unit for the same price, which was appreciated. The second thing happened was when I rented a truck to move in winter. When came the day and time the truck was in the back totally covered in ice and snow. It took a very long time to get it warm and roadworthy. Again making for delays and expenses with the hired help. No other truck was ready or help offered. Because of these two events I give an average rating.

Answer 6 I put a no because I wanted to put a maybe. The service was good in ottawa.. need more staff on weekends...assistant manager was great. Cornwall location was sketchy.... hated the uhaul app. Especially for check in as it gave different gas levels... don't know why there was a discrepancy between app and your main system. The app said half a tank of gas which matched the truck while your main computer system did 3/4 of a tank... was not impressed as we filled up the truck for half a tank and was going to be charged for not going to 3/4...that is not right... what if I did self check out in the app? It would of charged me more.... plus, someone smoked in the truck and there was no where to capture that during pick up in the app...couldn't move past the field without a picture of smoke. Took random picture then found Coffee stains on the floor and could not add another picture to show how dirty cab was....
