Communication with staff and resolve of issues with staff was very good, except for management (Paul Parker). Received email notifications, forced to come in in-person to resolve and never got any follow up by him. Don't know anything of him except for his name by title (pathetic leadership). However, first time dealing with latest management (Melanie) and resolved satisfactorily. I made sure to take the contactless pick up with my phone. on morning of pick up, the app didn't work at the step with the credit card. The guy on the lot told me my truck was not ready on time anyways AND that the credit card system was down. I had to go wait inside (took almost 1 hour to be served). In all o this, now one offered the 50$ dollars I was suppose to get if my rental was not ready upon arrival.Mathieu L.

Bad experience to uhaul I booked for 24hrs 3week before may moving day.When I came back they allow only 10 hrs. Its a hassle and I need to transfer to different places just to return the truck and I need to rent cargo van before is to small I need to rent another truck in barrhaven just to finish my transfer.I cannot reccomend your area.FLORENCIO G.

Only thing I would say is to make sure the staff at the counter is wearing a mask. The person who handed me the key was unmaskedbrandon K.
On the day I was to pick up my rental trailer (Good Friday) the entire uHaul computer system was not functional. This appears to have been caused by a change in name of the company, or something similar. It took more than an hour to check in an depart with my trailer (a $15 rental). Due to the delay, I was late for work after returning the trailer less than 3 hours later. I would suggest that major changes to the computer network and software are NOT attempted the night before a long weekend.Nicholas A.

My reservation was not available to me. I had to use a cargo van to do multiple trips costing me more gas money then the one trip in the truck I reserved I was given the $50 guarantee but I still felt like I paid to much. The people I dealt with were very polite, but I wish my reservation would have been there. Moving is already stressful and expensive, this made my day much more difficult. Not impressed.AMANDA B.

Trailer had sustained an approximate 8â€ x 8â€ puncture on the front section of the trailer. The area was covered which adhesive but I had to add duct tape as it was raining. Not sure if this defective unit was purposely offered for my one way rental. Costumer service offered from attendant was gd however.Richard Y.
I am handicap and had made my reservation all online to make sure that I would not have to go in especially with the vivid! The equipment was nearly new and in good condition; very happy. The new process for checking in was most unwelcome. Despite completing the check-in online before arriving, I was told there is a new process where I had to check-in again in-person. What's the point of on-line check-in, if I just have to do it in person again anyway? I was also told I had to complete a new process where the u-haul agent in the store must telephone a relative of mine to confirm my identity who is not travelling with me. Despite my photo ID, drivers licence, credit card, etc all being on-hand. Happily for me in this instance my wife was available by phone and able to confirm who I was. What if she hadn't answered? What if it was very early in the morning? This new process clearly hasn't been thought through and was definitely not appreciated. I've never heard of such a procedure before.Harrison R.
In a way, I felt like the truck used alot of gas unfairly. because at stop light or stop sign.. the RPM kept going to 4-5 which used a lot of gas. Honestly, I really felt like I got cheated it on, cause I had to put $29 gas in it for just over 55 Km.. Anyways, Hope this gets better for next customer. Thank you, Merci MichelCLIFFORD M.

The booking process was a nightmare. My container was supposed to go to Ottawa Ont but was routed to Gatineau Quebec. I had to go to a u haul dealer here in Ottawa to have it changed to Ottawa No one seemed to know why it was routed to Quebec. I had my pick up date changed to Mar 15 th but when i arrived it still had the 16th on my order,BRIANJOHN M.

Specifically asked if the truck was cleaned due to Covid, and we were told that the trucks undergo a thorough cleaning and sanitization when they're returned. When we got the truck, it was incredibly dirty. Used Kleenex behind the seats, grit and grime throughout the cab, coffee spills all over the place, and the smell of cigarettes. I didn't bother going back in because I was in a hurry and I didn't want to go through a huge process of changing the truck. I used a brand new Costco sized container of Lysol wipes to get the truck to where it should've been when I took it. The wipes were yellow, and it took about half an hour to get it all done. When I picked up my car Hauler, I knew more about the trailer than the Uhaul representative. Don't get me wrong, she was polite and professional, she just seemed to lack a full understanding of how to hook up the truck. My biggest concern, however, was that she stood between the truck and trailer as I was backing up, and reached her hand out as far as she could so I could see it. I have a lot of experience with trailers, but someone who's never done it before could easily put her in a precarious situation. Safety wise, I think it's worth training the employees a little bit better.matthew D.

If it's snowing and there's Ice, make sure you have your truck s checked and moved so they are ready to go. I had to sit for 20-30 minutes until you towed me out putting me behind in my moveTyler K.
I reserved the truck over a month ago, confirmed it in the morning that it was still there, and then they gave it away! This is my 3rd move with uhaul in the passed couple of years and they've done this every time. VERY bad business model. Uhaul is lucky that someone hasn't come and built a better one yet. I have never been treated better by a team of staff collectively throughout the entire process of moving in, moving out and many truck rentals. The manager was also genuine, kind and helpful with my questions/concerns and I even witnessed him deal with a challenging customer situation in the loading bay beside me where the customer was disrespectful and he handled it professionally. When I arrived, vehicle was covered in Snow and Ice. After about 10 minutes of brushing and scraping I lifted the windshield wiper to scape under it, and it fell off. When I went inside to see if I could get a new wiper, they didn't have any, so I got a new truck and started the process again. The Cargo door did not function well, it took every bit of strength that I had to close it. When I mentioned it upon return, I was informed that stiff doors were not uncommon. Perhaps "thanks we will be greasing the tracks for the next customer" would have been the better response.Dennis C.

There is a female employee who works only day shifts from what I have noticed.... long dark hair. She never smiles, never a pleasant welcome... does not look happy to be working. We have encountered her three times. In the beginning of my rentals she was to have the manager call me (Paul) as we first booked on line and what we booked was not available (not our fault the website was not reflective of what was available) so I told her that I wanted to have the same price of a unit t that we booked online for. She said she couldn't authorize that and would have the manager call me. Never received a call. I called 3 times to speak to Paul and talked to the same girl 3 times she said Paul wasn't in ... so I asked her 3 times to have Paul call me. Never got a call. I was so frustrated that I just gave up on trying... it ended up that I needed and second locker which aggravated me even more because I didn't want my stuff all over Ottawa. Most of the staff that work there are not welcoming... there is one other girl with long dark hair who is very pleasant and always smiling and the manager Paul is very pleasant Based on my experience with that First Lady ... and other unfriendly workers And feeling very unwelcome as a customer..... Regarding closing the account: I was surprise to find out that their was no pro-rata per day with U-Haul. I should of read the whole contract at the counter in front of your cashier employee before agreeing of taking the storage unit. Unfortunately its impossible to read the find print of your contract when the booking is done over the phone or at the counter. IF I MAY SUGEST, this should be clarify at the time of the booking on the phone or at the counter by your sale team, this would certainly prevent a disappointment, frustration and hard ship when money is tight. Overall satisfied. One issue was that the map did not match reality and the unit we were originally assigned was a different size and we had to go back to the office to wait in line and get moved to another location. Not a huge deal, but also a bit strange. While we were waiting, the couple in front of use were clearly having the same issue. A bit strange that that if the map is wrong that it would not be corrected or at least that the staff would not know which were which even if there had not been time yet to fix the maps. Upset that the walk in reservation was not "Saved". I called 2 days before my check in and all data was lost i had to go the reservation process. I also couldn't check in on line I was always getting an error.. Regardless of the protection glass your staff should still wear masks... The indoor storage space was great. The problem I had over and over again, is that I couldn't get in. I wasted time and money when I was trying to move out, because the code was not working. I called and told them the next day, they said they will reset it,I came back after work and couldn't get in again! There is no one to call after 7 pm. I had to wait again till the next day. Then there's the confusing issue of 2 boxes, to punch your number into, and you have to punch in your number to the one on the left first... if you punch it in on the right before the left it will look you out- no one explained that until I got locked out- it makes no sense why it has to be that way- , anyways my number did not work in either boxes.Then I realized there's a 3rd punch in box. There should be clear instructions. It was a very frustrating experience to go there 3 times, and be looked out all there times after getting reassurances from the staff that my code works and that I should be able to get in.MAGIDA K. | Overall Experience

My rental trucks air conditioning wasn't working. It was very hot and uncomfortable. Also the service is very very slow, you need to hire more people. I left the lineup because I couldn't wait..you can't have 1 person working, and answering phone calls and 10 people in line. The facility is excellent and well equipped. The washroom was really appreciated. Some improvements in the website when signing up is a little difficult and when you check there are items that in there that you did not selected. Signing in is hidden at the bottom in Manage you account. Also reservation is hard when I select storage to reserve and checking out I received an error, double check everything but still error.
