How you can improve.. 1) when a customer reserves a vehicle that shows on the site at the closest location to move make sure the equipment is available before just switching them to another location. 2) When switching them to another location. Notify them, and ensure the equipment is going to be at "this location". I rented a truck from the closest place you had to the apartment to keep mileage down, website showed you had the equipment. A day later it showed my reservation switched to another location, adding on miles and when I arrived there.. they also didn't have the equipment and told me , my reservation had now moved to yet another location. As far as employees and interactions with them at the stores. That was fine. But this experience as a whole was a real pita , wild goose chase non sense. Do better.Patrick M.

The 24/7 check in on app didn't work. Thank God the employees were there early and the female manager, we didn't get her name, couldn't have been nicer to us. She opened early and checked us in at the counter and made our day! What great customer service! Drop off was just as easy too.Tina S.

Give guidance at time of pickup on what to do at time of return if during open hours... i.e. pull into return lane...sit there and wait in vehicle behind other trucks? or just bring keys in? I initially was going to book online for 24 hours and price was $40. I called to ask for an extra hour and was told the price would double. This did not make sense seeing that I only had it for 8 hours and I could have booked initially for 24. Regardless, I returned the trailer on time to save the money. I paid $40 for the trailer at pick up. While backing it in the employee ran out and told me they just ran my card and it declined. I explained the card did not even get an attempt because I would get a text alert and what are they running it for when I already paid? I advised I would be right in. I went into the store and was told never mind everything was all set. The next morning I was alerted that there was a charge for $80? I called and spoke to the manager that was extremely short and rude with resolution. I went to the location because I had no confidence in what was being advised. I walked into the location and was advised the same and handed a printout of my receipt, still not sure this will actually adjust properly with my card and I will be charged the right amount but will keep an eye on. Overall bad experience and extremely rude location manager.Mark B.

The return process through the app after hours was a bit difficult to use. If you don't go through the process fast enough, you have to start all over from the beginning. You have re-enter all of the information again, such as the odometer reading etc. It's a little glitchy.karen O.

When I picked the truck it only had little over 1/4 tank of gas. When i returned it I had added several gallons (have receipt) to bring it up to where it was. Even so they charged me for 3 more gallons. This is a poor way to get a little extra out of everyone. All vehicles I have rented in the past have always been full and bring back full.Christopher F.

The guy who checked me in was excellent but the truck needed service. I have driven a lot of trucks. I have a commercial license. This truck had transmission issues. It didn't shift properly and drove in low gear too long. That probably cost me gas money.daniel S.

I was charged for three gallons of fuel, which I think it was a poor decision to expand revenue. I stopped and put thirteen dollars of gas in the truck prior to arriving around the corner. I traveled a total of 13 miles in all in four days. When I questioned the charge, we'll you have 26 ft truck and a v8 engine what do you expect. I don't believe that the truck gets two miles to a gallon. It was traveled straight down route twenty a fairly straight flat route. The young lady claimed pictures didn't match, but if picture aren't taken on the same flat spot aren't accurate. The few dollars you charged me for 3 gallons of gas has created a negative experience.Anthony B.
I returned the tractor a day early, after hours (around 8:00 PM) as I was told I could do so after calling UHaul. When I got to UHaul in Orchard Park NY 14127, I used uhaul.com/share to try to return the trailer I had rented, but after numerous attempts, I received an error message after taking a picture of the trailer for cleanliness...not enough memory. After calling UHaul again, I learned that 1 picture actually went through, but the site never let me complete the process. The 2nd time I called UHaul, the agent assisted me and told me to just drop all the paperwork through the slot and leave the trailer. So I did that after taking numerous pictures of the returned trailer. So the site to return the trailer, UHaul.com/share did not work for me. And I thought that I might get a little credit for returning the trailer early, but did not receive any. This UHaul facility has always and is an excellent facility with prompt and excellent service. Dog hair or some type of animal hair on seats. The vehicle smelled. Although staffed nobody checked me into the vehicle or checked me in. I walked into the store to return and there were 3 employees sitting behind the counter laughing and making chicken noises. I advised I was returning and was advised they'll check it in later. Having worked in the rental industry for over a decade a check in with a Uhaul representative would have been appreciated and in my opinion necessary.Leonard W.

Equipment was very clean, however when I arrived at my location to load, I discovered a substantial leak in the roof of the truck had lead to a wet floor. It made moving a bit of a challenge. I notified the location of the issue upon my return of the truck. Suggest that you open truck bed to inspect before accepting. NOTE: I've used this location several times and this was the 1st issue I've had.KELLYA H.

The steel screw-on fuel cap was seized onto the tank, I was physically unable to remove the cap to refuel the truck. Myself and 2 other guys couldn't get the fuel cap off, not having any tools (no tool was included with the truck). It only had 1/4 tank when I picked up the truck so I had to drive very conservatively. I was forced to return the truck on empty as a result even though I really wanted to avoid the inflated refuel price. I'm very lucky it didn't run out of fuel leaving me stranded on the highway.Anthony S.

The trailer was booked for a discounted drop off location, and staff suggested a secondary drop off without informing us that the rate would increase. Drop off was not clearly explained, and was extremely difficult and web site would not accept code, making it VERY difficult to check out without paying additional monies. Staff failed to explain that drop off location would be closed, failed to explain drop off procedure, and just generally made it unpleasant experience all around. Terrible experience. I'm disgusted by all of the hidden fees and ways to upswell the customer.Tracy S.

I reserved a cargo van and couldn't get it because the policy is a major credit card is needed for it, but not for any of the trucks. I don't have a major card card due to being on a debt free lifestyle. This caused me to pay a higher mileage charge even though there's plenty of money in my account. The girl at the desk was annoyed when I walked in to return the truck. The truck sounded awful and the guys helping us move said it's a transmission issue. We had to use the moving blankets. THEY WERE ALL WET. When we returned the truck, I let them know we used the blankets. A guy from somewhere in the back yelled â€œdid you fold them!?â€ I said no, because they were wet and I didn't want to touch them. Again, couldn't see the guy, he never stood up or came from around the corner. He then yells â€œif you don't fold them we charge you $5 a blanket to refold themâ€ So my husband and I go back out to the truck to fold them. No where on the bag does it say we need to fold them, so that's cool. I wonder how many people get scammed out of that $30. THEN we realize there's only 5 blankets that came in the bag. And the bag says 6. We were charged for using 6 blankets. It's not really a big deal, but the staff was annoying. So it just made it irritating. And the girl was definitely annoyed that she had to be there. After being up at 4:30 that morning, dealing with a stressful move, still having messes to go back to- that was really the last thing we needed to run into.KARIELAINE D.

We were extremely impressed with the facility and staff. We stored on the second floor because we were concerned of potential dampness, however, after several visits we learned that due to climate control we were doubtful that would have been a concern. The facility was kept clean and safe. The staff extremely polite, helpful and professional. It would have been nice to have lighting inside the "stall" but not an absolute necessity, otherwise the overall facility was well lit. The price was comparable to other local storage places but far exceeded the quality of the metal free standing storage sheds we had visited at the time. So far, so good. Just moved in!! Pleasing and approachable staff. Good location, hours, security and parking . Clean and dry (not damp) inside storage area. A service elevator would be nice to access second floor areas and a little better lighting inside the cubicals, but neither are necessary. We rented an upper 10x10 and a lower 15x10 unit. We were NOT told that the upper unit had a huge roof support beam running through the unit. When we checked in, we asked for another unit without a beam. We were told they only had smaller units available without the beam.
