Please update UHaul website for Canadian customers. As I am a Canadian customer, and was viewing a local location in Canada to make my reservation, it's frustrating that the some currency amounts on website are stated in US dollars, and distances in miles per hour vs. kilometres per hour which is used in Canada. It would be far more helpful for Canadian customers, viewing a location online in Canada, to have everything in both Canadian dollars and kilometres per hour instead of miles per hour. This will help with the booking, and estimating costs of the rental.MATT B.

There was no dolly in my truck, either I had to drive back and pay mileage and lose the spot I had for the moving truck or drive a car by vintage sports car to pick up the dolly because my daily driver was left on site. I was told that I would not be charged for the dolly and I was. I've been constant repeat business over the past year and I currently have a 10x10 for the last year in the climate controlled building, if this is how you treat regular paying customers I hate to see how you treat the occasional customer. I lost 45 minutes out of the move yesterday and the rental person that helped me rude and sort of useless!Andrew D.

I have had issues with location since February 2021. The manager tends to mismanage every aspect of storage and truck rentals. Lorilee (I think) she has never properly introduced herself. She has poor customer service skills, will not accept that she has made an error and blames the customer. I have used uhaul at this location for 20+ years with a great working relationship. Since the management change everything has failed. I have been locked out of my unit due to her error with my payment, my daughter was denied access, my unit was locked by her and my access code was disabled because she did not read the date on the email stating I would be moving out in two weeks, but the transaction for money went thru. She also cut my personal lock off which meant I could not access the unit with my belongings but the key holder (Lorilee) could, what happened to personal privacy and how am I suppose trust my things are safe. I received no emails or phone calls or messages stating any problems with my account and to top it off the truck I had rented and secured well in advance was not there on my move out day. This caused more stress and higher costs to me. My movers had to make multiple trips and ran out of time so alone I had to move the last load. Lorilee promised to adjust my bill but her words are of no value because shortly after I received my receipt with the full amount charged. Due to her lack of professionalism and poor customer service skills she cost me an extra $200 to my movers who were very understanding and helpful. Everyone knows moving is hard with a successful team working together and when one careless individual causes errors with no concern for others makes me believe she is not working in the appropriate line of work. On a better note, the employee working along side the manager was apologetic, polite, welcoming and understanding. He deserves so much because he was cleaning up her messes.KAREN H.

There was no one there to hook up my trailer I did my best thought it was done properly but although they took a picture they didn't check. On the highway the trailer jumped off the trailer hitch and it swerved very badly and luckily I was able to control it. I was in the middle of the highway. All cars stopped and I was able to get it back on without causing damage or creating an accident. Very scary and disappointing !!JEROME C.

I felt sorry for the agent as he was by himself. He had people on the telephone on hold and 3 people in line in front of him. I feel he needed another staff member there. He plugged thru and continued to get to us with a positive attitude. I am sure he was feeling overwhelmed but did not show it. When I left there was another line of 3 people. U haul I feel you are losing business by not have more staff to help with the check in. I was happy with my experience but I am in customer service and know understaffing can happen. I used the app to process my rental and although i was able to use it successfully there is definitely room for improvement. For instance, when I returned to the location it would have been nice if it detected this and provided me a quick link to return the truck. Also an employee was nice and started the truck for me and opened door and said i was good to go however on the app when chatting with agent i was told to wait for authorization- so a bit of a disconnect - not major but could perhaps be a concern for you? Nonetheless i would reuse the app the next time - finally i found the price to be a bit more than expected for the short trip which i made. All in all for the most part satisfed snd look forward to app enhancements in futureandrew D.

My experience at U-haul was not a great one, it was my first time using the service and it was for my first move. My original request was to rent a 20ft truck and do a one-way drive and drop it off at my moving location. I was not told at the time of booking when I called to make the reservation that this was not going to be guaranteed. The reservation was made 1 month in advance of the move so it should have been accepted. I then was converted into a bigger size truck and a two-way drive so I would have to drive the truck back and forth. I was told the cost was to remain the same but when I went on the day off I was being charged for mileage and the cost of the truck which came to be more than the original request. I spent several days on the phone leading up to my reservation and then time at the location to get this rectified. Eventually, I did get this resolved and was charged accordingly. However, having to go through this during a stressful time of a move is not okay, this should not add stress to customers who are trying to move. I do not think I will be using u-haul in the future or would recommend to friends.TASNEEM A.

There was no front hooks in the bed of the trailer, you recommend placing all loads in an Open Bed Trailer towards the front end to avoid sway and how would you expect me to ratchet tie it when there are no hooks available? First of all I booked a closed container trailer in Milton, showed available and reserved when booked. Then you called and said no it is not available and gave me an open bed trailer without the tie down hooks missing/broken which intact delayed my start journey by over 3 hours as we were figuring out how to secure the load and cover it with the tarp. Without tie down hooks caused delay which git us stuck in heavy traffic further delayed my trip this we arrived late at night otherwise we planned everything accordingly and would have returned on time. Delay was caused by UHaul and now you are charging me one extra day renyal for coming back few hours late including insurance cost???? UHaul should make sure to honor their reservations when I booked a closed bed trailer in Milton and it showed reserved, then you went ahead and rent it out to another person and gave me an open trailer with no bed hooks to secure my household load. It also delayed moving items to my daughter's University residence making my whole plan go out of schedule. You should refund that one extra day cost due to your fault. Not to mention that right hand side rear brake light wire kept falling and I have to keep an eye on it, your staff said "put some tape on it"...really? Maintain your dinosaur age trailers and maintain safety standards by providing proper tie down hooks and replace missing hooks in my case. I'll report this to corporate UHaul to get it resolve.Balaji V.

Customer Service with the older female was horrible. She was extremely rude, made snide remarks and was dismissive. She is the head of the dept apparently, and she was the worst to deal with. Everyone else - the 3 boys and other younger female - I saw and dealt with were much friendlier and helpful. I would recommend the location in the sense that it is clean, but I imagine that's the case for most u-haul locations, and I would encourage other people to choose a different location because that girl was extremely rude and moving is already stressful without her negativity.Felicia C.

The customer service agents I dealt with were all very pleasant and I thank them for a successful moving experience. My only suggestion would be that they also acknowledge customers who have just entered even if they are currently in the middle of something else and unable to serve those customers in that moment. The van had not been cleaned out, there were small bits of broken glass on the floor of it. They overstated the fuel in the vehicle, forcing you to waste time going back in to amend it. I didn't, then they charged me for way more fuel than could possibly be used for travelling 16km. When I complained, they basically told me I was lying and they have a contract, so tough. Checked in online and got a van assigned. When I went to pick up the keys, the van had been given to someone else. My rental was to be picked up at the South Service Rd location. When I arrived I was told they did not have my rentalâ€¦ isn't that the point of making the reservation!? I was then told I could come back te next day (not acceptable) and then told central dispatch was trying to locate me a trailer and someone would be calling me. Why wasn't I advised in advance to not waste my time and travel? I was then called and told there was a trailer at the Woody Rd location. I arrived, checked in and was told to go to the trailer and an attendance would be right out to hook up. Waited before attaching myself and completing the inspection, drove up and went in to confirm I was ok to leave and they were surprised the attendant had not completed - apparently he forgot!? The original storage unit that was provided was supposed to be a 10x10 - when I arrived on-site it had been split into two 5x10. When we went to look at the unit, it was just too small, very inconvenient and too far on the inside of the building. My experience was a very disappointing one. When I reached the facility, I found a lock on my allocated unit. When I went to the customer service desk, I was passed on from one rep to another (4 total) and finally the response was the system double booked my unit. I was not offered a similar unit (due to availability) and instead I was given 2 half units instead. Funny enough, when I went back to the warehouse to locate my units, one of them also had a lock on!! My only thing that wasn't perfect was the difference between my online experience and the counter. I spent some time double checking things with live chat and felt that since I spent more then an hour double checking my reservation I would just go to the counter and double check again and be on my way. The excellent employee spent a lot of time going over the things that I had already went over, since I didn't bring my computer I diidn't have quick answers to every single question, all i wanted was to get what I had spent the time reserving. After 45 minutes of questions I got the rental, if the reservation email had the instruction to bring all those questions i would have, I don't get why I was reminded to bring some info and not all the required inf. I had to take a call as that process was ridicuously long, and the person left me to explain another customers bill. That other customer was being rude and boy I felt those rude urges in me since my online work was pointless. Assuming I didn't do that online work I would say what a great team and building, there was an annoying customer in the building and the team kept there composure and was great with me and my helper, she gave me my first months rent free, I like how they get along with each other and me and my friend, they walked with me to show the keypad which i would have had to gone back and ask for help, all around they are pros and I will come back for the next move..
