They put one mileage on the form and it was not what we received. i was overcharged for gas and mileage in addition to not getting equipment i reserved. horrible experience.

Teri H.After checking in, it says "go find your truck" so we spent the time going outside to find it. Then after you click "found the truck" then it says to go all the way back inside to get the key. If we got the key initially we wouldn't have to go all the way back inside and hold up the other people in line while we get the key.

Then as I check in online im required to take a self and picture of my id while also giving them 2 people they need to call and verify. All of this is happening through some online chat while im standing there with an employee in front of me. It was the most complicated and unnecessary experience I've ever had renting. The person at the desk was nice but it was all just way too complicated.

It wasted over 2 hours of our day, i do not recommend choosing a self pickup location as most likely you will have to be re routed to another location and it will waste time from your rental. We had to pay staff for an extra 2 hours to cover the delay in vehicle pickup.

Spencer W.My original rental was for 18341 Sherman Way in Reseda CA. After I gave my debit card I was told to go to the Reseda location to pick up my truck. They were closed when I arrived. I called them back and they stated I did not have a reservation, even though they sent me a text and email confirmation. I then had to go to another UHaul to get another truck. It was a major inconvenience. Very poor service. The Parthenia location was professional and helpful.

MICHAEL C.Pretty much nothing. Have had a storage room here for years and rent a van or truck 2-4 times a year. Now that you have your app working, I am going to have to make an effort to go into the office and commend Luis and team.
Michael S.My original pick up location was in Chatsworth. Last minute, they switched it and failed to let us know. They claimed they sent an email, but we didn't receive anything. Our pick up time was 7 am, didn't get our truck until 9am. I was told we were going to get the $50 reservation guarantee and be compensated our miles since we had to drive to a different location, but still had to pay full price. Not only that, but they charged us an extra $30 for returning the truck a little below 1/4 tank (which is how we got it) but there's no in between 1/8 and 1/4 so they charged us anyway.
Lucas H.If you are going to have people check themselves in with their phone. Simplify the process, offer bandwidth in the store and realize that when your employees checked people in it took about 5-10 min. This process took 20-25 minutes due to an inefficient system and not enough bandwidth. So you have modernized your check in system by making it slower. Great step forward!
Erik N.I was quite disappointed having to enter all of my information on my own private cell phone to your new app. It was a huge inconvenience it was a delay in time.. however the counter person was extremely professional and patient. He also asked if he could input all my information on my personal phone to help me out. He explained this was going to be the new way to received your vehicle. Truck or trailer. I'm the behalf of U-Haul I have been using you for over 20 years. Especially at this branch. And I was quite disappointed in the way that changes are being made. Having the customer do all the work and inconvenience in. There's a strong possibility that I may go elsewhere. Cuz it just shows me that U-Haul does not care about their client. They prefer having them do all the work instead of their employee.
Luis A.My rental experience from the store location was very frustrating and unsatisfactory. Upon arriving at the store to rent the truck, I was greeted by a line and several other frustrated customers. After waiting 20mins in line, I presented the clerk with a printed copy of my reservation and was told to scan a QR Code to re-enter all my information again. The app had bugs, did not work properly, required too much personal information, did not provide a privacy or terms statement on how my information in the app would be stored or shared. I tried to make the experience quick by investing the time up front to make a reservation. I left with the truck an hour after arriving. I will not be recommending U-haul in the future

After waiting so long to get served, then having the long data entry session; I seriously may consider other options for my rental and packing supply needs.

Rental was only for 6 hours so ALL my fucking charges were doubled. I've moved a lot and NEVER had to go through all this bullshit. Fucking useless and will NEVER use this sorry ass company again. My 6 hours started at 9 and I couldn't get a fucking truck until about 10. Never again!

The 24 hr access option as well as the security system made our stuff is easy to access ourselves but hard for others. The loading dock made my move in and move out of the unit a breeze, and I never once regretted choosing this great storage location. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is their corporate rules make some things harder than they need to be. Halfway through my 2 year rental period I lost my key to my unit. Instead of being able to bring a drill from my garage and open up my unit myself, they required me to call a locksmith, who proceeded to try to pick it open for 20 minutes and fail, only to do exactly what I would've done myself and drill out the cylinder. $275, to open my unit is absurd, especially when they install hitches at this location, and could've grabbed a drill from the shop and opened my unit for me. Absolutely ridiculous. Yes, maybe use a combination lock, it's less secure, but the security system will protect your stuff more than your unit lock will anyways. I just didn't do that because I had a habit of giving people my keys to go get something for me and didn't want them to be able to memorize the code. But sometimes it's not worth possibly losing the key and spending a months worth of the rental fees on opening up the unit. Other than that one hiccup though, my storage experience was great.

However, facility management showed no interest in investigating the incident in order to prevent it from re-occurring.

There's very little customer parking and often employees and customers who are not actively using the loading dock are parked in the spots in front of the loading dock.
