The colleague that we interacted with - he helped us at the counter and then out in the yard getting our equipment hooked up - was the source of what is likely the most positive interaction I have ever had with a rental company. Friendly staff at the Columbus location. However, this has been anything but an easy experience. Will never use Uhaul moving services again. Stuff was lost during the move, which caused delays and caused me to lose my apartment. When I showed up to the location to rent a truck, they did not have that truck and was asked if I would take a smaller truck. With no options and movers showing up I accepted.Matt F.

Moving is always stressful and the staff & manager at this location were so helpful and welcoming! They helped me with online check-in and check-out when it was being finicky and I was even able to get a different truck right on the spot. We rented a couple dozen moving blankets with the truck, but we're not provided any additional information about them. Turns out the needed to be nearly folded in the back of the truck upon return. While we weren't charged for this, it did delay the return process for everyone. Would have been nice to be provided that information from the start.JENNIFER S.

We rented on a Sunday. I did not get the name of the wonderful lady who took care of us. She is a teacher during the week and works at U-Haul on the weekends. She was FABULOUS and made renting from U-Haul a GREAT experience. We have had really BAD experiences with other U-Haul locations in the past but this lady made everything easy and quick and she was very professional and polite. She needs a raise.JOHN S.

We arrived at this location at 11 for a trailer rental. We made the reservation for the trailer, an appliance dolly and 6 furniture pads. When we got there they told us they didn't have any dollies at all. We asked the guy helping us to call the Morse road location to see if they had any. He guy responded â€œsure but I doubt they will answerâ€. My husband stepped away to take a call and when he got back he asked what they said. He told us they didn't answer. I was standing in front of him the whole time and he never called. Didn't even pick up the phone. He gave us another hour for free since we had to run around town now trying to find one. So we got the trailer hooked up and we're pulling out of the parking lot and realized he also didn't give us the furniture pads either. There was a women that working and we asked her for them she grabbed them. We went ahead and asked her to call the Morse road location. She told us no problem and pulled out her phone and called the manger directly. While she was on the phone with them she saw in the store that there was a dolly sitting right there in plain view. She gave that to us but the guy helping us could even be bothered to look. We definitely needed one as we were bring appliances down four flights of stairs. This whole ordeal took about 40 mins and we ended up being late to the delivery we were making. The store could have called us ahead of time and told us this information and we could have worked something out. Instead they wasted our time. I am not happy with this experience or really any one I have had with uhaul. I will not be using this company anymore after this.MARK N.

None of the equipment (dollies) we're available. They never are here. My truck had a check engine light on. Above average was given for the guy who checked me out upon return. He was outside, ready, knew his stuff, got my receipt sent to my email and even had masks which he let us have because we had to catch a Lyft and you can't ride without one on.Angela E.

When I rented the truck for a one way trip from Columbus, OH to NYC, I paid for an additional 100 miles that I knew that I would need for the trip. Upon dropping off the car, I was about 70 miles over the original 650 allotted miles. Instead of the additional 100 miles, that I paid for, being added, I was charged an additional $30 dollars for the overage of miles. We got there a half hour before the scheduled pickup time (I made a reservation online and already had all of my information entered) and it was a good thing we did because we were in line the entire 30 minutes. A cranky old couple behind us only made matters worse. Once another associate was able to help us we were only in the building for about 2 minutes while she pulled up my reservation and then she brought our truck around. ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION! I also understand being understaffed (there were only 2 employees in sight the entire time I was there) but an effort should be made for more people to be scheduled during busy times of the year (OSU off-campus move-in weekends).Alexandria K.

The receipt was not clear - the amount we were charged was more than the total quoted plus our local sales tax. Not significantly more, but $5 or so. I'd think the receipt should show all charges including sales tax so you can see that it all adds up to what you paid.Greg T.
I was very impressed with the service given, l watched a customer in front of me was tired and very rattled, the gentlemen waiting on her was so patient, it was really impressive to see that type of service with things going on now days. Excellent agents at all locations we used. We rented three trucks and one cargo van this August 2021 as we moved two children to college and relocated ourselves to a different city. ALL the rentals went smoothly from check in to check out. Recommend 100%. Our storage unit in Columbus on E. 5th street was very clean, easily accessible, prepared with a lock and key. First unit had a leaking mess. Given another unit and 1 free month's rent for the inconvenience, but kept getting charged for the free month as well as messages about being late to pay and threatening lock out for nonpayment. The truck had a loose tire. Big safety concern especially that our friends were driving the truck and had to call road assistance to fix it. Delayed our move for a full day and since that we tried to call endless times to file a complaint but the line will hung up after the recording instead of transferring to a real person. Horrible return experience. Pulled into the covered canopy and waited for a representative to come out and check in my trailer (As the sign said to do.) After 15 minutes of no one coming to help, I went inside and was told to look for a "tall guy" outside (who was no where to be found.) Again went inside and was told to pull to the back and someone would come and unhook the trailer. No one ever came. I ended up unhooking the trailer myself (In a down pour rain storm). I asked about a return receipt, as was told by an employee, "I'm good if you are good." Horrible return experience. Watched countless customers go inside and be helped while I was waiting. I was there close to an hour trying to return the trailer.BRYON S.

The main gate was broken/open the entire 1hr plus we were unloading our truck. This unit was selected because it corresponded to the location I requested as drop off. That was subsequently changed and I returned the truck to a different location. While the storage unit location worked out the rest of the online Uhaul process was awful. The truck was all over the road. It needs an alignment ASAP!!! I was told by a man named Fred that the entire process time would be 7-10 minutes. It took 50 minutes for me to get the truck and storage unit. The staff needs to be thoroughly crossed train... The the unit door would not slide back to open, so I called an employee to help me to get the door open, and by the time he got back to the unit, I had managed to get it open and unload my car...
