I think this is the biggest rip off I've ever been treated at a U-Haul. It is very clear that I only used 8 mi on the van and they charged me for 2 gallons of gas for $4.25 so basically what they're saying is their vans get 4 mi per gallon. To me this was a scam just to make more money with a bait and switch of $19.95 a day. If you're charging per mile of $0.69 a mile for rental on top of the $19.95 to try to nickel and dime customers with the extra $4 charge for gas for going 4 miles per gallon this is unreasonable. I'll make sure that we post this warnings for others.

The people are rude and put charges through even after I changed the card to charge the rental to. The guy who checked us In when we returned the truck tried to charge everything to my card and I told him that was the wrong one. He had both cards showing on his device because he read off both card numbers to me. I asked could I talk to someone to correct the error and he sent me into the store. I went in and talked to the manager who said there wasn't anything he could do about it and basically called me a liar when I said I had called in and changed the card number. The manager said the charges had gone through and he couldn't change it. The guy who checked in the truck then came in and I asked him why he had completed the transaction even though I clearly stated I needed to talk to the manager before the charges were finalized. The check in guy couldn't say anything other than he had completed the transaction. It is important to note that I did not give my permission to finalize the transaction and clearly told the check in guy not to charge it, he went ahead and did it anyway. Another thing hat was not made clear when renting the vehicle is that the Safe Move charge is per day, not a one time charge. So the truck may rent for $19.98 per day, but the total comes out to almost $40 per day with all the extra daily fees. It is cheaper and easier to use a moving company, than it is to use U-Haul. I will never use this U-Haul location again. I don't appreciate being insulted, treated like I am stupid because I'm a woman and insinuating that I am a liar. If all customers at this location are treated in a similar manner it is no wonder there are so many unused trucks on site.

Truck was not prepared for drive away, wrong milage, wrong fuel leave. This meant check out was more of a scientific one project to arrive ate teh correct bill. But happy ending and truck worked great.

I have rented trucks and trailers from UHAUL maybe 10x over 40 years. Chose this 84th St location bc they were super friendly and accommodating over the phone, and bc online showed they had large inventory. In the past smaller places often didn't have the size truck or trailer available on the date I needed. This biz is very well organized, renting was seamless. I was really pleased (surprised actually) by the reasonable cost of the rentals, helpful staff and their efficiency checking me in and on return. I highly recommend this business!

Everyone was nice. I did feel a bit rushed off, but I am from a small town and this was Phoenix, AZ. There was not very much communication about when the truck was due back, apparently I returned it early. Everyone was very nice and the establishment and truck were clean and in great shape.

The 1st drop off location that was given to us was very convenient and then we got a text telling us to drop off the U-Haul at a much farther location and when we got there we were informed that they did not even accept drop off's. They did, however, let us leave it there after we showed them the text changing drop off location.

Desk personnel were AWESOME each of the 4 times that I was there to buy supplies, reserve the truck and pickup the truck! OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE! The only small small issue is it was raining when I picked up the truck and the door handle was filled with water because they left the door open when putting the dolly and furniture protectors in the back. But a minor issue overall.

We had a situation where I rented a truck for my deaf son to use to help someone move some furniture. We have used this and many other Uhaul locations many times. They are one of our favorites, always helping in every possible way and being supportive. Sam has been wonderful previously and during this experience. Very patient, professional and knows what he's doing!

I asked for a 4x7 open trailor and was told none was available so i had to spend more money on a bigger one I didnt need. Whille I was hooking up the trailor I saw two 4x7 trailors sitting in the lot so I took a picture of there location and positions in place. When I returned they were still there in the exact same position. I've heard of upselling your customers, but it should be volunterry, not misleading them.

Absolutely horrendous service! 10/10 would recommend any of my friends use ANY OTHER SERVICE!!! The staff was very slow and not helpful. I was ignored. Everybody just took their time strutting around when the store was busy. There were 2 front desk clerks on a Sunday. Absolutely insane to have such little staff on a weekend. If I were the store owner or corporate manager I would fire everyone working in the store. Lastly I made a payment on my storage unit in advance and the clerk told me they weren’t going to refund my payment of $125. Absolute theft if you ask me. Especially after giving 6 months of my business. The truck had horrible alignment and hadn’t been inspected since January of LAST YEAR. The last time I helped a friend move in a uhaul it hadn’t been inspected in 5 years and we had a tire blow out while exiting the freeway. Absolutely terrible business. I HATE UHAUL and I will NEVER offer my business ever again and I will steer everyone I have the opportunity another direction.

Manager in particular was not courteous enough. Was told early in the morning that I can have to move my schedule to 6PM pick up. I really don't understand the point of reserving it 4-5 days ago. After 3 follow up's I was able to get truck on time by stores another associate.

From the first phone call, the general manager at this location was inappropriate with flirtatious comments and it continued throughout the process of installing the hitch. He was so preoccupied with himself and flirting with me and his coworker that he charged my debit card $400 inaccurately and had to refund - which took almost a week to show back up in my bank account so I had no money for gas for the trip. I had a 12p appointment for hitch installation they said it would take 2-3 hours. I came back after 2 hours and they had not even started on my car! I had to pay for a Lyft home and back to pick up my car ($50+) By 5:30p I still had not heard from them so I started calling but went through an hour of hold time and trying to get the call center rep to understand that they were not answering the phone but still open until 7 and they had my car. No one was helpful! I decided to just take a Lyft anyway and I was going to take my car back whether they were done or not. I drive for Lyft and lost an entire day's wages waiting + had to pay for transportation on top of it. They finally called me at 6:52 pm to tell me the car was ready "but they're only open until 7p"! Good thing I was proactive and was already on my way!!! They didn't care one bit that I would not have been able to get there before they closed when they waited so late to call me! Then they installed the wiring wrong and I had to bring it back for another 2 hours while they fixed it! This was a terrible customer experience and I would never refer anyone to get a hitch installed here or rent equipment from this location. Perhaps if the manager focused on his client's needs instead of his ego and personal romantic life, there would be better time management and customer service.

got a charge for a lock? for 12.91 . No Idea what that is. I did not use a lock or ask for one. I don't like it when I get charged after I dropped of the vehicle and you employee inspected everything. I don't think I will use this location again. Had another situation last year for charges on a damage on the vehicle, which was not from me . Looks like you try to get some additional renews

Me and my husband returned our truck at 10:30pm and used the after hours drop off method. When we went to return the key there was a lock pad on the orange box. We were there for over 45 minutes in the cold with our newborn daughter trying to figure out what to do. I finally called the help line and a lady was in disbelief that there was a lock pad on the return box. She asked me to try and hide the key somewhere and that she would put a note on our account. I ended up taking pictures and sent them over to her so that there was no confusion as to where the key was. My issue is your customer service. I received a missed call from your store at 6:45am so when I called back I talked to two people and they couldnt tell me who had just called me, didnt apologize and after I asked the 2nd person specifically why we were put in that situation and why was there a lock on the return box she replied "I dont know but your receipt is sent to your email, thank you and have a good day" then hung up on me. What is the point in having a 24/7 drop off when you cant return the keys? It was very frustrating cause we didnt just want to leave the key anywhere or take them home and get in trouble. I would like my question to be answered and a response from someone that doesnt act like its a "normal" thing to not be able to return your key. The truck we rented was great, everything else sucked.

I've used U-Haul many times, usually a top rate experience, and will continue to use them based on previous experiences, not this one. I was using the self pick up feature with my phone, in the middle of the process, another customer walks up to the truck I've been assigned and drives off with it. The online help, assign me a new truck that is boxed in, so needed help from staff. They were very friendly, eagerly trying to help and I wasn't upset at all. They were having terrible time with getting the system to complete the transaction. Finally they needed to bring in more help, not sure if he was a manager to the ladies originally trying to help. He did get everything fixed, and grateful for that after an hour trying to pick up. What ruined the whole experience for me was the way he treated his co-workers. Completely demeaning in front of a customer, most awkward moment I've ever been as a customer buying anything. But in the end the equipment worked as it should, we got the move done.

It took over an hour to get my reservation situated at pick up and get my truck and trailer. The truck was filthy on the inside of the cab and the back. It took me an hour just to get it acceptable to drive and load my items. I am terribly upset and dissatisfied. It seems every time I use your company, I have issues! I told this to the return location and the young man apologized but made no effort to try and make concessions for the trouble. It cost me an extra $150 in labor for my movers because of Uphauls mistakes. I want to be compensated for your mistakes that cost me almost as much as the rental itself, again because of your company's inability to make good on its reservations. I would like a manager or someone to contact me and make this right. We had an arrangement, and you didn't hold up your end. I deserve a refund! Please have someone contact me to make this right.

Don't lose a customer forever over $7. Your GM Rodney Zayas was horrible. He was unwilling to grasp the obvious and was so caught up in his regiment that he lost connection and respect for the person that pays his salary. After explaining myself twice and he could obviously see that I was becoming agitated he clung to his policy over $7 and lost a customer forever. What should have taken 15 minutes to complete our transaction took more than an hour of my time. This man should not be in a leadership role. Good leaders identify that not every customer or their issue is the same, and adjust accordingly. If I wasn't so angry this would be laughable. This was not an issue over $700 or even $70, it was over 7 dollars. You ask what's the big deal! It's the principal.

I was told the vehicle had 5/16 gas and to bring it back with the same or greater. After driving off while on the highway I noticed it was not 5/16 but 3/16. I called and got it worked out. My complaint is I do not like renting with a partial tank. I never use Enterprise Rental Car for that very reason. I think you should do like most other vehicle rental firms and begin with a full tank. That allows your customers to go straight to their usage rather than having to stop at a gas station right away. Thank you

The whole experience went very smooth. I reserved the equipment the day before, check in went great. When I went outside after check in the trailer was already hooked to my vehicle and when I returned the trailer, it could not have been done faster or with more consideration. Some bait and switch in process. Website says free first month with truck rental in last two years. Person at facility said this applies only if the truck rental is one way. Website says free lock. We came to Phoenix from Idaho in a u Haul truck loaded to the gills. The North Scottsdale U Haul treated us exceptionally. Rodney and the entire staff were welcoming, kind, upbeat and extremely fair. In fact, we have returned for a second rental and received the same excellent treatment. Yes, I recommend them highly!

I called in to inform the staff that I’d be vacating my unit. I would be making the last payment on the unit. The person I spoke to informed me I had until the 14th of the month to get my things out. My card was charged on the 4th, it was not supposed to be. I went in the store to discuss the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done. The lady I spoke to was rude and offered 0 help. I will call American Express and issue a chargeback if this is how UHaul and it’s staff treats customers.

I have been to this facility on several occasions when staff are being berated by the manager. My last experience was the owner arguing with another staff - possibly his wife. Extremely uncomfortable to listen to these dialogs. One time is understandable but on almost every time I was in the office there were verbal dialogs I DID NOT want to hear.

I was told that storage closed at 8pm but when I arrived with my items at 7:30pm the storage was closed. My friend had to come and put my remaining items in his car. I was moving out of my apartment and that seriously messed up my whole day. I only rented the storage because of the hours of availability. I have to have surgery in 3 days. My suffering from fatigue and multiple trip to storage is a major inconvenience. Plus I had to leave my stuff in cars parked overnight.

Where do I begin with MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCE with a UHaul was a nightmare!!! Starting from my very first encounter with the woman who quoted me my move was to be 1,400.00 which included: Plenty of pads, a dolly the car trailer, the drive from Colo to Scottsdale AND TWO GUYS TO HELP LOAD UP THE TRUCK!! After arriving at the UHaul in Highlands Ranch I was THEN TOLD “ NO, we didn’t have two guys for you, THATS SEPERATE DEAL”!!!!!!! When arrived here in Scottsdale.... DID NOT GET THE SIZE STORAGE SPACE WHICH EOULD HOLD STUFF FROM A 20 FOOT TRUCK and I HAD TO PAY FOR AN ADDITIONAL SPACE!!!!!! THEN WHEN CAME TIME TO PICK UP MY ITEMS, HAD TO DRILL OFF THE LOCK TO OPEN THE UNIT AFTER THEY TOLD ME THEY COUKD DO THAT !!!! D E B A C A L E the entire experience!!! NEVER AGAiN WITH UHAUL!!!

We ended up renting four storage units to store our items we moved from out of state on two 20 ft. moving trucks. Rodney even backed our trucks up to the lower loading docks for us so we didn't need to worry about trying to do that ourselves. It was a very busy Saturday at the start of a new month, yet Rodney and his team we were made to feel like VIPs during our nearly 7 hours there with movers getting things unloaded and into storage. Very happy with our experience and would definitely recommend this location to anyone who has storage or rental vehicle needs!

The Scottsdale road location was the absolute worst, all other times were this location and I always received good service. Except this time... A very elegant gal named Royal escorted with me to do a final walk-thru, for moving out of a storage unit. She was kind and helpful and lots of fun to chat with. Likewise she was smart and offered creative assistance, while I waited for a moving company to load one last piece of furniture. She made me feel special and welcome! This was a great experience for all of the time we rented except the last day. I went in to close the account for my mom. My email and phone number were the contact information but the unit was in her name. I was told I would have to bring in my mom to show her ID to close the account. I explained my mom was in a senior facility 60 minutes away and this would be a huge problem. Basically I was told they didn’t care. So I drove all the way across town and back again with my Mom. Walked in and was then told we don’t need to see her drivers license!!! Instead of being contrite, I was met with laughter and the offer of a water! I know we were no longer clients, but you took a pretty good experience and turned it into a terrible experience. Really terrible customer relations!! I would not recommend this location to anyone and a different approach to the bad situation would/could have made all the difference.
