Pick up was extremely difficult. There need to be full instructions detailing what is required for the online pick up process provided BEFORE pickup. I did not find any additional instructions on pick up available until it was time to pick up and by that point, it was extremely difficult to provide the necessary information. I also had to put my divers license into the system at least 3 times and had to change the verifying contact information multiple times before I was able to login. Then, when I was having issues, the wait time to talk with a representative was over an hour.Christina L.

I was originally scheduled to pick up a 15' box truck and auto transport in Lithonia Georgia. This was 50 miles from my homr. They didn't have any equipment when I got there. I called customer service and they sent me to Athens Georgia which was another 50 miles and another hour away. I lost 2 hours of time before getting the equipment I needed. The people in Athens were very helpful and friendly even tbough yhere were only two employee and they were doing the best that they could.Bradley Z.

The only problem was that the staffing was not enough it was the manager by herself. I had to wait an hour to get checked in:for the truck, the supplies and the storage units that was while a man came in and threatened with blowing up the place with a malfunctioning propane tank. And USPS trying to drop off 10-15 trucks that weren’t supposed to be there. it took over an hour to rent a trailer, the manager literally left during the time I was there and left me with a worker who was basically either brand new or entirely incompetent so we both had to sit there and wait for the manager to return. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. We needed multiple units and had a little mixup with an assigned unit having abandoned furniture already in it, but staff worked quickly to resolve the situation. I made a reservation for a particular size truck over 2 weeks in advance. When I arrived the day of the reservation this size was not available, nor the size below it. I was offered a reservation at 3:15 PM for that size truck (my original reservation was at 9 AM). I declined and took the biggest truck they had because all of the arrangements for my move revolved around my 9 AM u-haul reservation. Later that day I was informed that the 3:15 reservation had been canceled because there were no trucks available. This could have very easily been a fiasco, as I was moving to another city, not within the same town.ERICA C.

The Manager/Owner at this location went out her way to treat me wrong. I had to wait 30 minutes to have my truck checked back in, even though there was staff available to do it. The owner even told one staff who was about to check me in she would do it . I normally hand the the keys to a staff when checking back in I was asked to go back in to the truck so she could get info (never happened before) I was then asked would I like a broom to sweep out the truck or get charged ( never happened before) I then asked what is going on today you have checked me in before and we have never did any of this. Upon her staff bringing me a broom he said I got you sir (meaning sweeping the truck out) the manager replied no he will do it , the staff said we sweep out for everybody else what's the problem today? I explained to the manager the truck wasn't swept out when I received it but I swept it out any. I rent trucks a couple of times a month and have never had this type of treatment , I WOULD LIKE A CALL ABOUT THIS INCIDENT PLEASEANDRE G.

Not always a safe environment. Many times we had to deal with users of either alcohol or drugs as they seem to think hanging out in the building is the latest place to hang. REALLY CHECK EQUIPMENT..... UHAUL REP. CLAIMEED TO CHECK TRAILER LIGHTS AND SAID THEY WERE IN WORKING CONDITION. THAT NIGHT AFTER WE STARTED OUR 600 PLUS MILE MOVE TO FLORIDA . MY WIFE WAS BEHIND ME AND SAW THAT THE LEFT TRAILER LIGHT WAS OUT. NEITHER THE TURN SIGNAL, BRAKE LIGHT, OR RUNNING LIGHT WORKED.( WE DID STOP TO SEE IF IT WAS A LOOSE CONNECTION AND IT WAS NOT THAT. IT WAS FULTY EQUIPMENT) WE DID LIKE UHAUL AND HAD JUST USED UHAUL TO MOVE FROM FLORIDA TO GEORGIA TWO YEARS AGO. BUT WHEN OUR DAUGHTER IS READY TO MOVE DOWN TO FLORIDA WE WILL NOT BE USING UHAUL AGAIN. THIS WAS NOT ONLY NEGLECT ON YOUR REPS BEHALF, BUT ALSO ENDANGERING TO OUR SAFETY AND YOUR EQUIPMENT. While the staff was friendly, they were clearly under-trained, and didn't seem to be getting any help from management. It was a bunch of young kids in over their heads with no one to help them figure out how to do things. I honestly felt bad for them. Also, got a complete runaround when trying to schedule my ubox to be delivered to my home. Received a voice mail while I was at work to schedule a time for delivery, called back literally fifteen minutes later to schedule the delivery and the person who left the voice mail was gone. The other person I spoke to asked me when I wanted it delivered, so I asked if a morning delivery was possible (thinking they would give me some times to choose from). They said "OK, morning delivery, I've got it noted down for them," so I figured it must be a range for delivery, like getting internet installed. Well, the next day, the ubox never showed up in the morning. I spent twenty minutes on the phone (while at work) trying to get through to someone to ask about it, but no one ever answered. My father, who was at the house waiting for the ubox, called and was able to get someone, who said A TIME WAS NEVER CONFIRMED. He explained the conversation that I had, letting them know the person I spoke to just said that it would come in the morning, well then the story changed and apparently person who delivers the uboxes had called out that day. Great. My father flew down specifically to help me unload furniture that I could not move myself and the is was the only day that would work. Several phone calls later, they were able to get the delivery person from a different uhaul location to bring the ubox to my house. Overall, it was a very stressful, unpleasant experience. I honestly think I will just hire professional movers the next time I move.Erica N.
The rates were outrageous and not competitive. I wished I would have driving 10 miles further, up the road to secure a rate of 55 cents an extra mile. This was the worst moving experience I have every had. They were 17 days late moving to another state. There was NO discount, even though they said there was. They hire a 3rd party mover for the uboxes and if you want a discount you have to hunt the 3rd party down to get it. NEVER use them. Horrible, unethical people.Heather R.

the first van had bald tires and needed oil. We were going to be given this van to drive over 300 miles! What bothers me is that this is average. The second vehicle we were provided was clean and had good tires but the manager explained she had selected the van personally and saw no lights. It concerns me that the employees would allow any vehicle to go out with bald tires. The workforce, in general, has little training and no standard operating procedures to protect the customer. What is important to these companies is the routine to collect money and make sure the protections for the company are followed. I feel like the workers and managers do the best they can with what they are provided. Pay more, train more. Focus on a quality product for better reviews.Martha D.

The manager at this location should never work in customer service. She has a very nasty attitude for her to have been with this company for 5 years as she claims. She is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with in life. If I didn’t just come in from a 14 hour ride I would have never stored my items there. I definitely will be moving my things soon. Grant also is another one that needs retraining. If these two are someone you guess think should work for your company your wrong cause they give u haul very bad look. I had a really bad experience renting the truck in another city but Jonathan in Athens was very professional and resolved those issues. Moving into storage was very easy. The facility is very clean and we are very happy with it. U Haul provide moving carts which helped tremendously and it was really easy to find the unit with the map that was provided.
