When speaking with the employee/manager to schedule u-box delivery date, the employee was somewhat rude and unhelpful/unwilling to assist with potential scenarios related to delivery. Our u-boxes arrived damaged on the outside. All of our goods were intact, but the boxes were difficult to open then once opened could not be appropriately closed. Uhaul on Allen rd in Peoria IL.. I haul was sticky from spilled coke. People running the service counter were very slow and had a lot of problems filling the request made and kept giving misinformation when doing a storage request as well.Michelle S.
The staff working the register were very slow and incompetent. The warehouse didn't have our box ready for pickup. It took them hours to find it.Tracey M.
Every time we have to deal with this location, it's a very slow process. We tried to do remote pick-up for our van, but it didn't work, so we had to talk to somebody. They gave us a van that was parked about 4 inches from the vans on either side of it and had to switch out which van we were renting. This meant that we ended up having to call corporate later when we were being charged for driving 95 miles when we had only driven 15. Side note, because I know this isn't an issue with this location: Literally every time we've had to deal with UHaul in the past few years, there have been extra charges we've had to call back and change. Every single time. It makes me feel like I can't trust the company and that there is a lack of consideration for the consequences of whatever actions are making this happen.Nicholas M. | Overall Experience

On return of the equipment we waited over 20 minutes for someone to check the equipment in spoke to 3 different employees before getting someone. They told me everything was fine then added extra charges to my card because they were late checking the equipment in. After correcting their mistake and refunding the charges they instantly charged my card again and for additional funds that they had no explanation for. They never notified me the only reason I knew about the charges was due to the bank notification because it looked fraudulent to credit a charge and then charge more for something else. The lady who refunded the charge was very friendly and helpful and didn't understand it herself. I'm very appreciative that she was there to step up and handle the situation as professionally as she did. I would like to add that additional training should be required of whom ever is in charge of handling customers credit card charges.LARRY S.

The manager was rude and condescending. When moving out of my storage she constantly circled the parking lot to watch me. And harassed me the whole time. She accuse me of breaking an already broken Ubox. She constantly watched me to be nosy and to get into my business. Both the pickup and dropoff locations had helpful employees. Your customer service between my first reservation and the pickup up date was horrendous. My reservation was changed multiple times. Each time, the location and equipment was changed. Whenever I tried to call to address the equipment change, the automated system was a nightmare to get through. The place was really nice and the people were nice most days. You could tell they were overwhelmed and short staffed. It's why I always gave them a little grace. The reason that this place is only getting two three stars is because they didn't do a great job at explaining how to get in when the bays were closed. It was very sweet cleaning lady who showed me how to actually get in and make the door work not just sign in. The other complaint I had was that I had set it up on auto pay multiple times and every time I turned around it was not pulling the money out even when the money was in there. The first time I let it go but after the third time I had enough and decided to leave. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being upselled on insurance when my renters insurance would have covered my stuff I even asked my insurance company if they would cover it, and they said yes but I was forced to get the extra insurance by the manager who said I couldn't store my stuff there if I didn't. All in all it wasn't too bad of an experience but some of those things need to change.John W. | Overall Experience

We had to stand around in the parking lot with the homeless people waiting for someone inside to hopefully open the door for us. This was not a good situation. The only issue was the key card not working once I got to the storage building. The maintenance guy who worked there helped me into the building bit I still had to go back to the uhaul store to register in and I couldn't register out due to the building being closed. The only problem was that the staffing was not enough it was the manager by herself. I had to wait an hour to get checked in:for the truck, the supplies and the storage units that was while a man came in and threatened with blowing up the place with a malfunctioning propane tank. And USPS trying to drop off 10-15 trucks that weren't supposed to be there. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. We needed multiple units and had a little mixup with an assigned unit having abandoned furniture already in it, but staff worked quickly to resolve the situation. Not always a safe environment. Many times we had to deal with users of either alcohol or drugs as they seem to think hanging out in the building is the latest place to hang. Very clean facility and though you constantly have to use card to get in and out of door, it is very secure and safe. The surrounding area often has loitering, but the facility itself is so easy to back or pull up to and carts are often readily available.
