I had I my Unix containers 2-3 days into the new billing cycle and had to pay full price for a whole month with no prorated priceâ€¦.. so for 2-3 days I payed about $150 dollars. Honestly, after my boxes didn't arrive to this sate many weeks after the due date, that seems kinda ridiculous. And that's after we payed for months of storing them as well. We also had to wait 3 extra hours after my scheduled time to pick them up the day I scheduled to tow them on my move in day. We had a problem with the refunds for the shipping being late as well, the receiving uhaul store refused to pay our late shipping refund and I had to ask the shipping store to pay it. Overall the store clerks and staff were fine, but the multiple issues, especially the lack of prorated storage payment for two days is horrible, I can't in good mind recommend uhaul to anyone after this.CHARLES C.

my u-haul experience was not very good. after my you boxes were loaded and returned for shipment, my order was cancelled and my u-boxes remained in storage for three months. when they did not arrive and I enquired which was very difficult, they finally arrived two months later. the people I spoke with about it tried to tell me this was a normal delivery time and that I had cancelled the order. I rented this vehicle and returned it on time to an employee. The next morning, I received a call from an employee aggressively stating I had not returned the vehicle and needed to do so immediately because it was reserved by someone else. I tried all day to call the store back and explain the vehicle had been returned, but no one ever answered the phone. The national UHaul call center also tried to reach the local store but no one picked up. I was then charged a $20 after hours return fee incorrectly. I emailed about it and was told it was a computer error and would be refunded, but it has not been refunded.AUBREY W.

Becertian that your tow trailors are free of debris such as the broken glass, cardboard boxes and large and small chuncks of wood before renting them. The one i rented today was full of all that stuff and my husband had to help the employee of yours empty it out before we could even get hooked up to the trailor. Also there is an 'ERROR" message that wont allow me to complete the inspection report or load you photos of the large amount of crap that was in it.SHANNON S.

We had a giant storm and were unable to bring the truck back for safety concerns. We were even issued a state of emergency by the governor and a stay at home order which made it not only unsafe but against government recommendations to be out on the roads. I explained this is why we couldn't return the truck and the mileage should prove we didn't drive it, but was still charged for the days it had to sit at my new house while the storm (100+ mph winds for 3 days) blew over. I am very disappointed in uhaul for this terrible customer service and lack of understanding for the situation we were experiencing. I called in everyday to explain that I was still unable to drive it back so I was excellent at communicating what was going on. I ended up being charged over $400 for a truck that I drove maybe 100 miles total.JARED G.

When i made the online reservation, a much closer U Haul location showed they had the size equipment that I needed, a 26 foot van. Ended up they called to tell me they did not have the 26 footer so I had to drive an extra 45 miles round trip to a different location. It was more money because it was more miles, also more time out of the day. The online site needs to be accurate as to what equipment is available at each location, and more communication between the locations maybe, so that the customer could get the right equipment at the closest location.JEFFERY J.

Truck was given to me with 10 miles of fuel before the light came on with no washer fluid at all and an engine knock. They forgot to give me the boxes I ordered in the truck with the rest of the moving supplies, and when I called later to extent my rental the person on the phone was beyond clueless instructing me to come in the next day (the day I would be moving with my truck) to figure it out. I called the 1800 number and was taken care of in 5 minutes. I've had good service at this location in the past but things have really slipped.JOHN M.

Just figure out why the check engine light is on that's all. Also, the truck ran fine but it could have better tires for the Icy roads. I learned to drive in these conditions over 20 years ago and I also drove hundreds of huge motorhomes over the summer so I am not shy when it comes to driving something this size or larger. Someone else may have a hard time handling and it could be unnerving to be sliding and peeling out in the ice at stop lights. It wasn't terrible but I just wanted to throw it out there so you know. I loved the fact that I could pick the truck up and drop it off all on my phone! Another suggestion would be to warn people that the pick up process could take 30 min once they get there. That's all and thank you. It was a very simple a stressless experience and these are not complaints at all.Danielle O.

We've always rented from this location, most of our rentals involve hauling stuff to Homer for family. This truck had very comfortable seats and was spacious for the long drive to Homer and back, but with our next rental, we will request a newer truck, this truck cost us $240 in gas alone. Not only was it a gas guzzler, but the truck still had trash in it, I'm guessing from the previous renter. And the inside of the truck felt like a mechanic had been in there, it was greasy and sticky. I had to wipe everything down because my hands weren't getting sticky and dirty from touching the dashboard, door and steering wheel. We returned the truck with no trash and wiped down, to be courteous to the next renter. This won't stop us from renting though, because U-Haul has very well Customerservice, I understand with the current pandemic going on, it has a ripple effect on everything. So despite everything that we experienced we continue to be uhaul customers.GORDON K.

They gave me a 10' truck without winter tires on a day it was snowing. I barely got it out of my drive way that has a very very very slow decline. It was sliding around corners without any speed. I asked for a discount due to the hazardous situation I was put in and was told I would get a call before they charged my card after the assistant manager spoke with the general manager. I reserved a uhaul the night before and received a uhaul with a leaking/missing catalytic converter. The truck was so loud I had ringing in my ears the rest of the day and a bad headache. When I let the workers know once I returned the vehicle they didn't seem to care and I wouldn't doubt it if they rented the broken vehicle to another person after me. I was picking up my 26 ft truck and 6 x 12 trailer from this location to move from Alaska to Colorado. Prior to my pickup, I was supposedly contacted by phone to inform me that there were no available 6 x 12 trailers to take, however the email address I had on file was never contacted. This left me without half of my order even though I made the reservation 2 months prior to my move. When I'm picked up the 26 ft truck, I was told the fuel level was half a tank but upon inspection it sat on a 1/4 tank. I mentioned this to a representative who said they would update the contract to reflect the actual level. (When I returned the truck in Colorado, the contract still reflected 1/2). Upon loading the truck, I found that one of the rear dualie tires was at 40 psi, dangerously below the 110 psi indicated for the tire. I had to return to the uhaul location with my fully loaded truck to ensure all my tires were at pressure, even though the reps at Boundsey ensured they were all fine. In addition to all of this, I was offered a transit vehicle to reposition from Anchorage to Whitehorse Canada to which I would be compensated with a reduced rate. I decided to do this so long as I could have a car transport trailer to tow my second vehicle behind. When picking up this truck the next day, I checked the tires on this truck as well and found one of the dualies was completely flat. I had contacted uhaul roadside service about both trucks, which they instructed me to return to the uhaul location. In the timespan of 2-3 hours, I maneuvered both trucks back to uhaul where my 26 ft truck was checked for accurate tire pressure. The 15 ft truck that was supposed to go to Whitehorse was leaking from the valve stem where ones given a new truck, only I had to unload the suitcases and coolers I was storing in this Truck. All told, I lost half a day driving through Canada having to recheck every tire on both vehicles to ensure I wasn't driving them under inflated across 2 countries. I checked every tire myself on the new 15 ft truck and trailer, only to be told by the Anchorage team that â€œThose are all fineâ€. When dropping off the transit truck, I received a fee from the Whitehorse location for the fuel level even though I picked up that truck on E and was assured that I could return it at any level. We had to contact uhaul to get this fee removed, as this should have been a no fee drop off. When dropping off in Colorado, the agent I spoke to there asked if my truck was in an accident as it was noted in my contract. I stated about the tires, bur that was handled in Alaska. He also stated that the contract still reflected 1/2 a tank of fuel as my original contract, even though it picked up the truck with a 1/4 tank. Lastly, the furniture blankets I had rented were more than I needed for the trip so I returned most of them to Anchorage but was told they weren't on the rental contract. I had maybe 10 with me in Colorado, and was asked about the 50 blankets to which I had to explain again that I only Had a few left. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from the Anchorage location, not only was I lied to about both contracts, but I was left with a lack of confidence with the trucks I was driving through some of the most barren and isolated areas of the US and Canada. Luckily we did not succumb to any hardships while traveling, but given the trouble we experienced starting out our move, I feel the Anchorage Uhaul team is to blame for this. I would not recommend them to anyone who is in need of their services based on the poor condition of the equipment and lack of honestly displayed to me.THOMAS H.

Eddie was great but he was going in 50 directions with two female staff who could not complete a purchase, finalize a rental contract or refund myself for packing items that were not used. Told I couldn’t get a storage unit because none available. Left the store went online and boom three units available and received on. Arrived and issued unit 1030 (reserved a first floor). Checked unit and it had a lock on it. Went back and he said he will work it out as I rented a $19.95 uhaul as well and he said I would have a unit upon return. Got in the uhaul and the fuel guage was off what he told me (took a picture) upon return I was issued unit 3030 (not what I reserved). Turning in the uhaul I mentioned I traveled a total of 12 miles and told him the gauge wasn’t at 7/8 but closer to 3/4. He assured me he would make a note of it and I wouldn’t be charged.
