Uhaul employees tended to speak in vernacular. “Have you moved in” - to me means have I moved my things into the unit. To them it meant fill out the paperwork online. And then the employee (I think it was the manager whose picture is all over) seemed irritated that I didn’t know what she meant. Overall, facility meets expectations. I filled out one already pertaining to the truck. But this is about the absolutely ridiculous extra charge you just hit me for. The truck was received at 3/4 tank, and returned at. Can provide gas receipt to prove. Truck was clean outside of the returned blankets, charged a fee for that. Truck was an hour late charged a full day. Your team member would not check me in as I quote â€œit's too hot outâ€. I have rented multiple times in the past and have never ever had an issue. This will be the absolute last time. Tried to call and was left on hold for 45 min and transferred to the corp line. Discussing business practice to. It verify then come back and charge what you can get away with. Never again. Start with a full tank so you can end with a full tank. And maybe have good maintenance so your vehicle doesn't get 3.8 miles per gallon.John N.

The entry/exit is poorly setup and not efficient; especially when people with moving trucks or trailers are trying to enter/exit with others. If I would have known this in advance I would have selected a different and more accessible location. This location was very nice and the people there were helpful, however this wasn't supposed to be our pickup location. It was an entire hour away from our home, and it was extremely inconvenient to be notified an hour and a half before I needed to pickup the equipment that my pickup location had been changed by UHaul (after confirming the day before) due to someone refusing to return the equipment. This added a significant amount of time to our moving day, making the process much more stressful and difficult. This doesn't reflect on this particular location, but rather my experience with UHaul as a company in general. UHaul should not be confirming (guaranteeing) your equipment unless they physically have it on site at the time of confirmation, in my opinion.Scott B.

We Don,t understand why being only 30 Min. from Mooresville I had to pay movers almost $1300 when we were promised U-Haul would deliver the U-Boxes for $499. As a side note when they went to load by boxes they ran out of propane for the forklift. Very disappointing. Won't use again. The U-hauls in Surry and Brunswick Maine where excellent..Bruce M.

I rented online for a truck in mooresville at 10am. I also called to confirm my rental in mooresville. Once I got to the store, I was told my rental was in another city! The store could not fix it. So I called the 800 number and they said mooresville had a truck I could use. Before I got the truck, the store manager said I had to be back by 5pm or I could not get the truck. This whole issue took 1 hour out of my time. I was unable to complete what I was doing. I rented the truck for 6 hours and only used it for 5 hours. I feel I am owed a reimbursement for 1 hour. Radio should have an AUX port or the ability to pair over WiFi. Most people will be relying on driving directions from their phones and it would be convenient to be able to hear that over the vehicle audio system. The truck was overall very clean, but the windshield could have used a good cleaning on the inside.Edmund P.

I had an 8:30am reservation for a trailer but unfortuately when I arrived the trailer was not present as previous person did not return on time. Agent had to call the customer and ask them to return it so that I could get my trailer that I had reserved several days in advance. The previous customer didn't return the trailer till about 45 mins later so I had to wait in the parking lot. The trailer had dirt and leaves still inside from previous customer which wasn't ideal either. I understand there might have been a shortage on equipment that week but I would have liked to see the staff manage the equipment better by maybe calling in advance to make sure equipment was returned vs having me make them aware that it wasn't there till I got there for my rental.Nick W.

Bathrooms filthy at all times, almost never cleaned except by me. Another tenant allowed to play ridiculously loud music even after multiple complaints, in violation of the contract term's, making it near impossible for me to do my work. I had to constantly reschedule work and do my work around his hours. A/C and ventilation to my office hasn't worked in over a month as of my move out date. My experience was wonderful up until I asked to extend my unit for 1 week. I moved from out of state, and the closing on my house was held up a week. I was told no, that they would have to charge me over $500.00 for 1 extra night. I asked if I could speak with someone in corporate, and was told they would direct the call right back to her, and the answer is no. I was willing to prorate for a whole week even though I only needed 1 night. We were storing an enclosed trailer here and had a wonderful experience. We no longer have that trailer and that is the only reason we no longer need their service. We also needed to rent a large indoor storage area and when they did not have anything available that would meet our needs, directed us to a nearby U-Haul facility that could accommodate us. My grandmother had a storage building with you since 2018. I was on her account as someone who had access or a backup I was told. She had been making payments to you writing checks.. Covid had been rough on us we werent allowed to come help her much except through a window to the outside. This facility somehow was contacting her to remind her to make payments as her checks were going to this place.. I know because I had to drive to the facility to make sure they had one in hand and to get assurance they were cashing it... One check went for over a week without being deposited I had to ride up there to question payment and then someone found her check laying where it shouldnt have been... She passed away a few weeks ago and I was her backup on her account I went to clear out the locker yet Nobody every let me know that her account was in error. Calling this place is near impossible yet every time we show up someones on that phone on a personal call outside smoking on that phone so I know it works its not hard to know its personal because you can hear the conversation through that door or see someones cell phone to their ear not other company gets to make personal calls on the clock, But nobody called me and her phone at her rest home didnt have calls missed either. We didnt receive any notices. I questioned the address and someone had it addressed wrong.. that address being wrong didnt make sense as we have rented trucks and Ive shown my ID several times and thats clearly printed on my ID.. So basically on her what would be birthday a few days ago had she not passed away shortly before this place sold a 130 year old bed that she was born in for a mere 45.00 that was in her storage along with other items left to my siblings and my cousins. The girl who talked to us wasnt much help, she said this is only the second time this had happened and was freaking out we havnt heard from them. Its a shame that backups arent utilized and employees at this station toss in typos for contacts without confirming them off IDs they scan.Corrinna F. | Overall Experience
It was horrible. I rented a storage unit on Saturday went back to access it Sunday after hours. To find somebody else lock on the unit. So I had no access to it. Losing all the help I had. So I returned on Monday with a truck full of stuff my wife and my self. (Losing a days pay from work). To get absolutely no help from cashier. Passing along my problems to the manager. Who in turn tried to open the unit by drilling the lock. Must of tried for about two minutes. Than telling me there was nothing she could do. But refund my money back not telling me that there was a 50 dollar guaranteed for not fulfilling my reservation. Another customer told me. So than I had to argue with her about it. Didn’t bother offering me another unit. Nothing. She basically sent me on my way. I do understand the times we are living now, and this locations seems to be overwhelmed, I was planning to keep the storage unit, but I found several times that the door was not working properly at off hours. Having to call a number to get a passcode because the remote was not working. Always the in/out main door blocked with customers, truck and trailers. Not friendly staff, always blaming the customer, I can tell their life is miserable, because they do not enjoy being there, with such a cluster. After renting the unit I found that it was an indoor unit with no outside access. I am elderly and walk with a cane; I cannot handle an indoor unit; I must be able to drive my vehicle directly to the storage unit. I immediately - within minutes - contacted the U-Haul facility, told them my situation, asked to cancel the rental, and requested a refund. So far, the U-Haul facility has not cancelled nor refunded. I only gave this facility an average rating because when I arrived to move-in to the storage unit which I reserved back in March 2021 it had been rented out to someone else. The staff in the office were great and made every effort to find accommodations for me in the area (which were sold out). I was assisted with finding a unit in NC by Jared Merlin. He always represents the U-Haul brand in a great light. When I arrived in NC, I was helped by Joseph who took the time to walk me the through the process step-by-step. He walked through the rain to show me where the unit was and showed me the do's and don't of working and locking the garage door. He was pleasant, professional and made the experience very easy. This included the rental of a large 26 foot truck and use of the storage facility in Mooresville until we were able to move into our new home. I’m not a new customer. I merely had a credit compromise which caused me to get a new card. In doing so, my account could not be automatically charged. I sent and email as the first letter instructed as an option. Heard nothing. I called and got a live person and changed my card on file. I received yet another letter now with multiple late fees. I called again and waited online for greater than 10 mins until a Corp contact took the call. She ran my card complete with all late fees. I’m paid up through Nov 5th. I will make every attempt to move out all my belongings by then if possible. There is no sense in how hard communication is between customers. Montana Overman and Joseph (last name?) were ALWAYS on site, VERY helpful and friendly. The storage unit area was always clean and all of the trucks received great care! We had 10x30 and 10x15 rentals relocating from MA to NC so needless to say we spent ALOT of time at this facility. I would recommend this U-Haul location to anyone looking to be treated as though you truly DO matter!! They both put their all into making the arduous task of moving a more pleasant experience! There was a giant pole in my storage unit which took up probably about a 4th of my storage space. I also asked the person upfront if he could cancel my storage and he told me that I did not need to be there for that but it took me until I got an email about my storage payment coming up for me to realize that he did not do that. Everything else was perfectly fine. He seemed to be a nice guy and was helpful just seemed overwhelmed and overworked and i would recommend y’all get more employees. Also I do not like the fact that if the employees do not pick up the phone after 3 rings your customer service people pick up the phone. If i am calling a specific location I would like to be able to talk to that location not customer service. I wanted climate control storage and figured Uhaul has been around for a long time. When the staff took me to see size of unit inside, it was VERY CLEAN!! Even the hallways. I didn’t have to search for the dolly, it was right inside the door! I feel very confident about my decision to use this storage facility!!
