Very disappointed, the truck didn't start after it was loaded. Called the roadside assistance, a gentleman came and did nothing. He told us it's out of gas. Called the roadside assistance again they sent another person he said it's not going to be fixed here so we have to two it away. He said he'll come back to two the truck in 10 minutes. We unloaded the truck and waited one hour then called the roadside assistance and she said: I'll send someone. 30 minutes later I got a ETA of 90 minutes. They even charged me for the rental. I ended up paying for my workers $700, $500 penalty to the client for not being able to complete the staging and $50 for uhaul truck. Additionally my time, hassle and stress is the result of this experience.Shiva S.

We rented the truck with no gas. We had 14 miles to empty and had to put a quarter tank of gas in it to return the truck to avoid a fee. We lost money and it was an inconvience to immediately have to go get gas.Nicholas G.
I've already written U-Haul corporate headquarters outlining the many issues I experienced during my move yesterday. Regarding your facility, I was informed by the employee on duty that my storage rental was not available to be part of the 1 month free rental I was hoping to use. I have a coupon for redemption somewhere on this hideous U-Haul app. I would like to use that. Customer service was horrible and harassing. I needed the vehicle for two days extra for my move and was called and harassed via texted by your associate Jessica. Threatens to call the cops on me as well was extremely rude on phone. This was the worst experience with uhaul ever. I'm a 41 yr old male with upper middle class income and I do not need a uhaul rep questioning the use and time of my needs. This is a rental service and should be treated as such. I went to the Louisiana Street location in Houston, TX. My name is Elizabeth Hunt and my number is 337-677-0411. I went to pick up the truck I had reserved. I was pressed for time. The first guy, a young one, put my information in wrong. When I asked him to update my email and phone number, he ignored that even though I wrote it on a paper for him. He said my bank refused both my card payment attempts, so I left. Later at home, I went through the account and found his mistakes. He made me waste a trip(!), because he did not ask me to confirm all the data, and he had my alternate number wrong and also the date of expiration on my driver's lisence was wrong, even though he scanned it on both sides with his own phone. After that I started getting all kinds of spam in my email, which had not happened before. I believe he is a questionable person, or at least needs to be trained on how to do his job. He also has no CS skills, such as, does not greet properly, no smile, and avoids eye contact. Please look into this. The other, older gentleman did a perfect job of checking out the truck for me when I returned the next day!Elizabeth H.

Justin and his team were great! Also the plastic bins were so handy and useful. I do think Uhaul should expand and be able to provide more of the plastic bins as sometimes renting them can be difficult. Lastly, Jennifer the store manager and the employees were very accommodating and help 5 stars all around!Prachet B.
The only thing I can think of is that while the utility dolly I got was good for the price charged, I do think it would be nice if it was just a bit bigger (taller). I didn't need a full on heavy duty one like for large appliances like refrigerators but just having one a bit taller could make it easier for hauling things downstairs or for stacking an extra box on it to make less trips. The receipt is saying we drove 200+ miles which is significantly over what we actually drove. At the end of our drive, we filled up the tank with 5 gallons of gas (keeping in mind we only needed to fill about 4.5 gallons, but we decided to top it off anyway). Assuming our truck does at most 20 miles per gallon, we only drove around 80-100 miles. Also, the route we took was only about 80 miles. And I have tried contacting u-haul with no success.Gabriel C.

Apparently renting a pick up truck at UHaul is not as easy as renting from a car from a rental place. I want to speak on my experience getting a rental pick up truck. I definitely understand why so many measures are put in place to guarantee that you guys are protecting your equipment such as two reference numbers where one has to be called to verify. However I was very dissatisfied at being told to change my phone setting where unknown callers go to voicemail so that my phone would actually ring if they were trying to get in contact with me. I'm sure that's not in a policy to tell your customers to change their phone settings. I think it is appropriate that if you cannot get in contact with me you can leave a voicemail because you have my number and not only that I have also given you two references to call. So why do I need to personally change my phone settings to accommodate you when that phone setting is set up for other measures to help for my personal use . Please don't ask your customers to make changes to their cell phone devices to accommodate you that's what voicemail is for and what your references are for. I should not be asked to changed my phone settings. I'm sorry that people may have misused or vandalize the equipment that you provide which is why you have certain measures in place but to ask me to change my phone settings is definitely not appropriate. This location was very sketchy even for me. My sister was even scared to be there. I've had a long standing relationship with Uhaul due to moving quite a bit of due to our jobs. I call that loyalty to the brand, service, etc. There was a high presence of homeless people that lived in the units. The last 6 months it smelled so bad that I had to bring air fresher to even enter. The manager stated it was becauseof a refrigerator that a customer had stored withfood. That's not true. The last day I was getting all my stuff out of the unit the door was broken and the smell was at its worse. While we were there 2 homeless people entered the building without cards. They had a code to enter. The young lady in the office tried to help but i couldn't figure out if she cared or not. Or was it management not doing anything about the homeless, the smell, etc because it was very obvious. So would i recommend this place heck no. I never felt SAFE going to my unit. I really love using U-Haul, pretty much the only moving company that I deal with, but for some reason my past experience with you guys was a pretty horrible one. When I got my U-Haul in my car trailer, the trailer did not come with the package that I pay for as promised. I was given the runaround and then eventually had to pay for it when I thought I had already paid for it. I was told that I would be reimbursed a certain amount of money once I reach the state that I was moving to but that never happened. Once I reach the state I rented a U-Haul again and then were overcharged on my mileage. I was then charged two months of storage rent when I had moved out before my 30 days were up. This was the only bad experience that I had with U-Haul but I am still a customer And will continue to use U-Haul for all my moving events.Paul S. | Overall Experience

1 hour+ and 3 customer service reps. Later and we still couldn't access our storage facility building. Access code got us in the gate but wouldn't open the building doors. Received "access denied" a dozen times. No other "check-in" station was available, which was noted on the keypad. Service reps. Said customer service wasn't busy and could help us right away. Didn't happen-were on hold another 15-20 minutes. We were on a tight schedule for friends needing to attend a funeral vigil, so made for an awful experience all around. This location was amazing! This was my first time moving & first experience with a storage unit. The staff was beyond helpful from start to finish. Arty helped me get everything set up with my appointments and answered my questions thoroughly. Jennifer also helped me towards the end of my move and she was SO understanding and took the best care of me!
