Same day online trailer rental and return, in fact I rented it online about 2 hours before pickup.. The guy checking the trailer out at the desk was great and very friendly, casual yet ultra professional while doing his job. The check-in and return processes were mostly efficient. Many businesses could always use a second behind-the-counter person when a line develops, but I was second in line, and was checked in within 15 minutes, so it was adequate.Scott P.
are used the self check out option to pick up a truck before normal business hours, and everything went super smoothly. The one thing I would point out is that I was asked whether the truck was clean or not when I picked it up, and the answer wasâ€¦kind of. I requested a location closer to my house. No one called to tell me the location I booked ended up not having a truck. I had to drive over 10 miles to the location that had the truck. So almost 20 miles that I had to pay for just to get the truck and return it. The app was terrible to use and crashed. The truck had trash in the bed and the cab itself smelled like a dead animal and was filthy inside. The gas was not full and the miles were off. Had to wait over 30 minutes to get the vehicle checked out and the bed cleaned before I could leave. This put our project behind. Very unhappy and would like a partial refund for having to drive way out of the way for this truck and for the delay in getting started.Jacob A.
While every minute detail of my experience was beyond fantastic, the only thing I wish would have been different is that they would have informed me that the location closed at 7pm. When picking up my rental, we confirmed that I had my rental from 8am-8pm. We even discussed what to do in the event that I was not able to return the rental on time. Even on cooler days, the building was quite hot (above 80*F). The elevators are dangerous due to the doors not staying up when opening/closing them. We'd have to push it up and rush into the elevator quickly to avoid being hit or the gate hitting our items. With other more modern and safer options in the area, I won't be using this facility again. However, the staff was helpful!David O. | Overall Experience

when actually getting in the truck - I had opened the door to see if it was in there - another staff person asked an employee to place a utility dolly in the back of the truck - that is literally what he did - - he tossed the dolly in and walked away. If a person picking up a rental tells you that this is their first time, I believe it would be VERY HELPFUL to have them practice opening and shutting the door correctly - making sure the handle latches before letting it raise up to not cause a jam. Also it would have been VERY HELPFUL to have had me pull the ramp out there and put it back to make sure I understood how hard it needs to be pushed for the latch to come up and secure it. That kind of help is the best and most practical and would have helped us to not delay our departure for 3 hours. Just pay attention to people when they tell you it's their first time to use one of these trucks. He asked me if I had any questions and I said I did not even know what questions to ask...the details about the door and ramp are unknown to some of us and should be explained at pickup like Jon from INLAND did such a good job of doing - after we had jammed the door and had to call for service.Trudi K.

They had the mileage entered incorrectly that created an 18,000 mile difference than the 10 miles we drove and we couldn't turn it in online and had to go back the next morning to settle it. Then he tried to charge an extra day because the computer recorded us two minutes late. However, when we dropped it off, I took a picture of the time on the dash with a view of the building out of the windshield, as proof we were on time in case of any discrepancies, since I couldn't do the online drop off until they fixed the mileage issue. The gentleman who helped us was friendly but seemed like he was trying to weasel us out of our return deposit.Danelle B.

The second floor units are difficult to get to. With two old freight elevators, one of which being broken on multiple visits and the other not always available, it was not terribly convenient to access my unit. My rental was initially set for pickup at the Dirby, KS location. I advised them I would be driving 600 to 1000 mines and confirmed I would be getting a newer 26' F-650 for the journey. Several days before pickup I was told they don't have a vehicle and my reservation was sent to the 1000 E 13 in Wichita, KS. The vehicle I was supplied there was a 2007 GMC with 200K miles. This vehicle had damaged seatbelts, exhaust leak which made gas mileage even worse than normal, the suspension was damaged causing it to bounce like crazy, the steering is so bad and worn that the tires would pull me in different directions (not normal drift). I was supplied a truck that is legally not safe to be driven on the roadway by manufacture and Government standards. The seatbelts alone caused this vehicle to not be legally road worthy (I'm a vehicle safety inspector for a large insurance company and have been for over 10 years). U-Haul put me, my wife and our newborn son in a position to either drive an unsafe U-Haul and risk our lives or we had to rent a vehicle for my wife and newborn son. This is unacceptable on all levels. I've used U-Haul and only U-Haul over the last 20 years and I've never had this kind of issue. The management team (all of them) at this location needs to be coached/trained on how to properly confirm the vehicles are safe for the road AND that they're legally able to be driven on the roadway. Please get this truck off the road before you literally kill someone.NATHAN W.

I tried to get a military discount for this u haul for over a week, I stayed on hold for more than 2 hours on two seperate occassions and never got to talk with anyone. I was told that I could get a 15 percent discount for moving my daughter from alabama to kansas for a military move and never recieved or had the opportunity to speak with anyoneBrooke M.

Very rare that I would say "excellent" of my own free will. I have become accustomed to antagonism, masquerading as service. NOT in this case AT ALL. You have an excellent service person at this facility. Further, it seems apparent to me that you have repurposed an older, existing facility with modern storage equipment and security features. I am extremely impressed. It seems to me that someone has "re-thought" and somewhat reinvented Uhaul as a modern competitive company, much different from my experiences thirty years ago. Arrived at 11pm. Spoke with representatives earlier that day and the previous day. I let them know I would be in late. They made no mention that I would not have access after hours. Next morning. Based on the unit number we assumed the unit was on the 2nd floor. No stairs anywhere...eventually we realized we needed to take the freight elevator just to find the unit. Silly and excessive, stairs would be fast and efficient. The first representative I talked to said there would be a lock in the storage locker. The next day second representative said there would be no lock. So of course I had to pick up a lock. Finding a lot to three trips to different stores. Eventually I found one and of course there was a lock in the locker. Not sure why they were the mixed signals. Two days ago I called about the free first day for college students promotion based on the COVID-19 move out. I was told I would receive a phone call in return.
