I rented a furniture dolly for a couple of hours and returned it promptly. At first the guy working there told me to go buy a furniture dolly instead of renting because he didn't want to do the paperwork to rent it to me. Then when I returned it, he said I didn't need a receipt and would email it to me. I repeatedly asked for a receipt but he wouldn't get off the phone from a personal call. I told him that I was taking a picture of the dolly where I returned it so I would have a date and time stamp of bringing it back. Luckily I saved the photo because a month later, U-Haul called and asked for the dolly. An employee named Donna got the situation straightened out and sent me a receipt and was very nice about the mistake.

I was charged a cleaning fee for returning the equipment in the exact same state I received it. There was minor debris in the truck. I did not take a picture. I discussed the issue and was basically told that it was my fault that I didn't take a picture for proof.

damaso d | First ImpressionsI was double crossed and they made me pay for full tank gas with additional service charge whereas I took rent for just 2 hrs and 29 miles. I did fill 2.5 gallons which is more than enough for the 29 miles for the small van I took for rent. I got the van delivered 2 hours late as well. Being a first time user of uhaul, this is enough to stay away for lifetime. I would never recommend uhaul to any of my friend and also would advise anyone to restrain from booking a uhaul.

It was very unclear where I needed to go with my truck so it took me several tries to turn around and figure out where I needed to go. I finally had to park the truck down the road and walk over and try to figure it out. I couldn't see where the office was. It was hard to find anybody to help me. I was finally able to find the girl that runs the office but she was busy with another project, so I wasn't sure what to do for quite a while and then I couldn't find her so I had to walk Around the facility, trying to find out where the office was and I finally found her in the office and she was very helpful once I got in the office. It just was very difficult trying to figure out what to do.

Initially when I wanted to rent the space, I asked for a 10 x 10 and it was available but when I came in with my belongings it was no longer available. I had a free months rent and I was given 2 5 by 10 for free. I called the corporate office to see if I could pay the same amount for the 2 5 x 10 spaces as I would for 1 10 x 10. The rep said to call the on-site manager and that they would be able to help me. I called the manage Demasa but never got a call back. I went in and Kayla allowed me to pay the 10 x10 rate while I was waiting for a response from the manager which never came. She left him a handful of messages both in text form and in a notebook. I was finally able to go in on a day he was there. I explained my situation and he did not make me pay extra for the month. However he said he never got the message and threw his employee under the bus. That was not okay. I moved my stuff to another facility.

DANIELLE BMoving helpers were not given all information so price ended u couple on day of service. I told U-Haul rep that apartment was on third floor with washer/dryer and explained that I wanted to avoid surprises on that day. She assured me they didn't ask this and it was ok at price quoted, but movers did not account for this and doubled price. I suggest when offering movers with U-Haul to get a more accurate quote.

The facility has put new doors on the units, and is well maintained on the daily. I even got a free lock for the unit. The 24 access is also great. As as they don't jack my rate up I'll remain a happy camper.

Went to restore the uhual and the gentleman wouldn't take it because he stayed he had no room. 1 hr later waiting on the phone with uhual and it was finally returned to another facility. This was by far the worst experience we've had with uhual

That was false and wasted my time and they dorected me to Mayport and showed me that my reservation was for Mayport. Then when I finally got to the Mayport office they couldn't find my reservstion, even though I showed them my email with my reservation for that day (and the Atlantic office had pulled up my reservation).

The property is kept clean, nest and trash free unlike a few other public storages and facilities. The site is monitored and checked during the day. The staff member Chris is beyond helpful. He keeps an eagle out for any assistance he can provide. This is the facility to rent storage from if you need one. I checked out others and they are the best in the area. The Manager is personable, visible & responsive and I see her on the property helping the staff and checking things out which is rare to see. This facility is on top of their game.

LINDA M | Overall ExperienceThe only thing that was wrong was when I picked up the truck the gas tank was under a quarter full so I when and put gas in it right away because I wouldn't make it back and forth without it much less the whole thing with returning the vehicle at the same fullness. So I was planning on filling it up once and done which would have been under a quarter full tank but when I looked at all the paperwork it said it had been a quarter full and if I returned it less I would incur a $30 fee. I ended up saying screw it and filled another $10 bucks of gas in it right before I returned just to avoid all that. Basically, the fuel amount was wrong and it cost me 10 bucks not a big deal but annoying.
Colin BI had a great experience with this uhaul facility because of the customer service. The people who work at this location are the kindest uhaul workers I have ever come across. My one concern with the facility is the lack of mirrors when driving through to get to my storage unit. There were several times when I almost hit other people because they weren't stopping at the corners.

As a 2 year patron the only thing i would mention, even though there are rat traps in all of the units, it still looked like there were signs of rodent activity in the unit, nothing majorly damaged, but a few things did have to get tossed due to rodent droppings... Nobody's fault and this is not a criticism, it is what it is with outside storage. Overall a good experience!

It will be the last time we use U-Haul, and will be sure to inform anyone else looking for rental, to NOT use this business. to say this was a major inconvenience and aggravation, would be an understatement.

Christina H | First ImpressionsWe were called at 1232 when I was scheduled to pick up the uhaul at 1200 from UHaul of Neptune Beach to be told that they didn't have my truck because I had bumped someone out of the queue. I called the store earlier that week to schedule for over the weekend and was told there would be no problem. I even called to say I would be an hour late. I could've been told alot sooner that there was no truck available. I was never apologized to and I was blamed more than once during this phone call. When I showed up to Mayport Uhaul after getting a reschedule I was told he was on lunch and I would have to do it on my phone but the GPS is not in the right place for that store and after explaining this he helped me. The lady I dropped to truck back of with was extremely nice and helpful. I got an emailed receipt after dropping of the vehicle and I only received $32 back from the gas that was in the truck. When I picked it up I was told if I brought it back at 1/4 tank I would get $32 and I brought back the truck at 3/8 full.

It took over 2 hours and multiple trips to and from different locations with three children on board to actually get the keys to the uhaul. I was told that I didn't look like my drivers license photo which was rude and upsetting and my employer, a friend and my ex husband had to be called to celebrity my identity. I was then send an email stating that I only had until 11:45 that evening to return the Uhaul even though there was a 2 hour delay to actually get the truck. The location was at a storage facility and the people who worked there just ignored us on the other side of the gate while smoking and the best answer I could get out of them was to call the Uhaul number. I filled up the tank all the way even though there was barely any gas when the vehicle was originally picked up because I didn't want to be as rude as Uhaul was to me in this process. When I did go to return the Uhaul with my ten year old daughter in tow on a school night, there was nowhere to park. There were three spots and both of the other two Uhauls were parked sideways making it impossible for me to park. I had no choice but to park in front of the gate. If I am charged a fee because of this, I will be absolutely livid. I have used Uhaul so many times and never once had a bad experience. This was nothing short of awful.

Anytime there was a problem with something, they always made it right and never acted like it was a problem to take of it. They took extra steps to secure all units at their expense and took care of issues that were potential problems for everyone's security. I have their services many many times and will always turn them if needed, again, I cannot say enough about this team, well done!!! Thank you so very much!!

DERRICK S | First ImpressionsMy only issue is I ordered the U-Haul online and was told they had the appliance dolly which was necessary due to moving a refrigerator. They didn't have the dolly I needed and didn't have any for a long time at that location or the location a few miles away. I think that is bad business to say you have a product that is necessary to the move and not have it when you go pick up the rental. If it was already rented I would have understood however, they haven't had that dolly available for a long time. That was disappointing. The person I worked with was very nice and she was terrific so no issue with her or the location. Just issues with calling the customer service number and ordering something that should never have been available to order.

Glad I got out before it was time to pay.

Completely disengaged, minimum conversation unless I engaged... no information regarding policies and returning truck... had to ask if I needed a receipt for fuel, didn't look over truck for prior damages, wasnt informed to note prior damages, nothing! Thankfully I took pics of everything, including the fuel Guage! They tried to charge me an extra $63 for fuel. Not on my watch bitches. I drove 6.8 mile and put $10 of fuel in just to avoid this! I reserved a 5x10 unit then was told they didn't have any. I wasted an hour making other arrangements. They put me in two 5x5s instead. After I went to my unit I waited 20 minutes for someone to remove the locks. I called the office and basically she forgot. My time was pressed and is always valuable. Although polite and professional I'd take getting the unit that I ordered three days in advance and CALLED TO VERIFY TWICE to be honored over office worker professionalism. I think UHaul owes me something for my time, frustration and anxiety.

When I think about a storage unit I think about an area to put important belongings and keep them secure. When I think about your U-Haul storage facility I think about theft mismanagement people doing things under the table my stolen goods and I don't know how many others I'm sure have had stolen goods I think about how nervous I was when I found out how many people lived in the storage units who were technically homeless I I think about my name being used to open up a storage unit and I think about how I had thousands of dollars in tools fishing rods and other furniture collectibles stolen out of my storage unit. This could have been prevented and or the person who stole the goods could have been brought to Justice if the so-called manager AKA the woman who gets people to pay cash off the clock for locks that are unaccessible. When I showed up to rent a 15-ft truck and appliance dolly there was no appliance deli and we were bombarded with nothing but excuses and answers and how she could not help us and how we were on our own when it came to the reason why my keys to my storage lock would not open my storage unit. She said I'm sorry I can't help you at call Papa lock then took my debit card and swiped it before even going over the contract and assuming that I was doing a one-way truck rental when I only wanted to do a 24-hour truck rental and drop off at that same location because as you know that would save me around $80 or $29 a day compared to over $100 a day. So then she swipes it says oh it's too late you'll get reimbursed don't worry about it I didn't care I had to move I had brought cutters and looked at every YouTube video to try to see if I could get into this unit on my own without damaging your actual hinge system. After two wasted hours dark outside

I reserved a trunk to remove my belongings, but had to wait 45 minutes while the guy tried to fix it. Was told if it broke down again that it was my responsibility.. Wanted a bigger truck, but had to settle for the smallest(broken) truck on the lot...... Horrible experience and I will never go back!! I would rather drive 50 miles to ANY OTHER facility than give those ingrates another dollar! Would highly recommend others to stay away from this place.

BRITTNEY G | Overall Experience2 days ago Today I was able to finally get my stuff out of storage after more than 2 years! I was so excited! As I was attempting to unlock my unit, the property manager drove up and said I might need a different set of keys. I was totally confused since it should have had the original lock I put on it. Upon opening the door, several items fell and broke, including an antique sewing table. I had placed it in a secure place to avoid that scenario! Several pictures frames also fell out and broke, which I couldn't believe because I packed it myself and had put them in a safe place. Lo and behold, the original lock I had put on the unit was lying inside, and it was apparent that the lock had been cut! I paid on time for over 2 years and trusted Uhaul with my belongings. To make it worse, the property manager was very nonchalant about the whole situation! Could not tell me who or why the lock was changed. He tried to tell me the shift of my belongings could have been due to a hurricane! SERIOUSLY?? I also realized after cleaning out the unit that several items were missing! I would never trust Uhaul storage again! Obviously anybody can go in and cut locks off units and rummage through other's belongings! And it's Uhaul's policy to not prorate fees even if you get stuff out more than 2 weeks before the next due date. I feel like my concerns were not taken seriously and no explanation provided for the theft and rummaging through my belongings! Use American Storage next door. They are much more customer friendly.
