I've rented from this location on several occasions. I'm finally at the point of being totally convinced that the employee and manager are in desperate need of professional training.The manager has the demeanor of someone that doesn't realize that customers may be dealing with personal issues when coming to rent vehicles or equipment. His cold , rude and unwelcoming attitude is a poor representation of the company. I experienced a bad attitude on several different occasions in the past with this individual. I went to the location on October 23rd to reserve a covered trailer for the following day. After making the reservation I asked if there was a way to do a test on my trailer lights connector to make certain that I would have no issues the next day that would hinder my schedule. There were no other customers in the office at the time. He said that it would require me hooking up to the trailer ( which is not true because he had t tester on his keys that he was wearing on his neck at the time) He said that I would just have to take my chances the next day. On the next day of course there was a problem with the connection. I had the problem repaired but it definitely impacted my schedule. When I returned he was not on site. The employee that hitched the trailer did not do a very good hook up. The chain was dragging the ground. When I went to return . I pulled to the exact spot of the hook up. The employee ( whose name I don't know but her face is covered with piercings) told me that I would have to back down the long driveway with trailers on one side and the building on the other to return the trailer. I informed her that I was not confident about backing up with the trailer down the long driveway. She rudely insisted that I do it. I refused to take the chance of damaging my vehicle, the trailer are the building. The manager entered the building and I was standing in the doorway. He walked very closely past me without a greeting or excuse me. He came out to disconnect the trailer and noticed how scarred the chain connecting the trailer was. I told him that the trailer was connected by his employee and it was dragging from the moment I picked it up. He rudely questioned if I had purchased the insurance for the trailer rental. I told him that I did and asked why he was asking. He said he needed to check my contract ( despite the fact that I just verbally answered his question). He suggested that he was going to charge me for the damaged chain that the employee had connected poorly. I'm glad that I am able to submit this review and hope that it will be looked into. My complaint is not with this location but with another. I made my reservation at the Lapalco location but was told that my reservation was being moved to a different location because they didn't have my truck anymore. I thought your reservation was guaranteed but I guess this location makes there own rules. When i got to the location they sent me to i was told that my truck was sitting at the other location i had requested it from so that was frustrating to hear since i had to drive completely out of my way to get to the new location. If i would have been able to pick up the truck from the location I originally reserved at I would have driven less miles since it was in the middle of the locations i was moving furniture from so because the original location was being lazy it cost me more money. Also, the link i was sent to check in the truck after i was done did not work and i ended up getting charged an extra fee that i had to call about getting refunded which was a headache that could have been avoided if the check in process would have worked.Brian M.

I was billed for the equipment when I tried to rent the trailer. I was not shown that when I got there and was billed another 68 dollars for the auto hauler. Didn't realize I till I went to return the trailer and they guy at the store told me that it was going to be refunded that first payment it wasn't supposed to be there. He knew what the first charge was for and that they didn't even attempt to give me the equipment I was billed for so he didn't have to deal with me. Made me call the 1800 number only to find out that I may have to wait a week to get my money back and also my bank account will be in the negative by Monday morning with something that is being auto drafted. Thanks u haul you really gave me the shaft today. After ida this is the situation I'm in and I have not gotten a paycheck in 30 days.Brian H.

Be nicer! Not only was this a very stressful time for myself, the store made the stress even worse. There was a constant miscommunication between myself and the store, from the moment I walked in there. After the pickup, the GENERAL MANAGER continued to call me and state that i HAD to have the truck back before my time at 5, because they closed at 5 and he needed to clean the truck. He made it seem like he was my dad yelling at me, every time we spoke. Very rude and very stressed working with this store, they were not accommodating and i will never return. This is the ONLY bad experience I have ever had with Uhaul, and it was so bad that i'm here doing the survey. I hope they fix this problem because i'm sure i'm not the only one.Jordyn V.

The original place I ordered from was online check in only however the vehicle I reserved was not in the system so I was unable to use it. However, the location on the expressway in Marrero, LA stepped up and let me rent a truck that already had a reservation so I could hurry up and do what I had to do and bring back their truck in time for the next reservationCorey D.

We sat on the side of the interstate 4 hours waiting on roadside assistance to come change a tire that blew out and when he got there he removed the back 4 tires which were very bald and in dangerous conditions. When we approached the location we showed the tires to the associate to where we were told â€œthese tires did not come off the truckâ€. My employee stated yes these tires did come off that truck and we were unable to actually use the uhaul due to the fact we sat on the side of the interstate waiting on a tire to be changed so long that we missed the job we rented the uhaul for. We asked about reimbursement and we're told no there is nothing they can do. Worst customer service ever.Brian A.
I have been a customer of this location since 2015. I am in a climate controlled unit which is rarely climate controlled; I do understand the meaning. It is miserable hot in my unit that several items have been ruined since they have been in there. Isn't that the entire purpose of climate control? I've gone in there and the thermostat reads over 86. The manager from 2015 was rude and obnoxious and charged my card without permission and caused me NSF fees. I also get paid every few months and I attempted to explain that to her so we could work out a plan and she would not hear it. So I am constantly paying these outrageous fees. I always pay my storage which usually costs me between $550 and $750 estimated. All depends on how my check comes in and how much I have left over or can borrow. I've been a customer for 6 years and one would think you would make the conscious effort to work with a long standing customer but obviously not. So my situation is changing and in the next couple of months I will purchase a storage unit and move away from Uhaul since Uhaul obviously does not value me as a customer it prefers the $75 to $150 in late fees over the original $139.95 ($1,679.40 yearly) then you became greedy and I'm sure Uhaul is using Covid as the excuse for the $10 increase in rent and now you stand to collect $1,799.40 yearly plus the outrageous late fees when you know 100 percent you will receive all rent monies from me. Greediness is what kills business and unwillingness to work with your good customers is what causes loss of customers and spread of bad customer service. Uhaul once was a name everyone respected and was proud to use and now we all look for alternative sources; ask yourselves why. Go onto the location off the west bank expressway in Marrero, LA where I am located and read the unpleasant remarks. I have called and complained numerous times. My father was in business since I was 2 years of age until the day he passed away at 75, I was 51. People still stop me and say they wish he were still here and what a great man he was and I could go on. That's when you know you have excellent customer satisfaction. I bet the Uhaul bean counters wouldn't receive shelter during a catastrophe from any white or blue collar workers.ANN H. | First Impressions

The equipment was clean. It didn't have the items in the truck I requested. The trucks ability to get to and from where I was going was questionable at best; I, felt it was going to break down at any moment. Also, I wasn't informed the time I was requesting the truck for wasn't doable until around noon the day prior even though I set it up over a week in advance. Equipment that wasn't available wasn't notified until I got there to pick up. So, communication was horrible in my opinion.David H.

Do not like making a reservation on line for 12 hours and then told they dont rent that long on a weekend. The reservation was done on line and then get told crap like this is very inconvenient. I was charged for an extra day even though I called and notified them before 3pm that I would be late due to unexpected thunderstorms and flash flooding, events verifiable because the local government sent out alerts to everyone in the area, including them.
