The customer service was excellent. The truck was not in great shape. It was adequate and did the job. The tire pressure was low but they took care of that before we left the pickup location. The gas was only at 1/4 of a tank. I think it is convenient and expected, to at least fill it up prior to renting the truck! It smelled like cigarette smoke. The pine tree hanging from the mirror was supposed to mask the odor but it was horrendous while driving 4 hours. The suspension in the truck was non-existent and it needed an alignment badly. The seats in the cab felt oily. I realize this is a work truck but I've never rented a truck in such poor condition. As expensive as it is to rent and as particular the staff is about gas gauge and cleanliness upon return, you would think they would extend the same courtesy when first renting a vehicle; not just when it is returned. The location of pickup was nice and the girl was friendly and helpful.Traci AND chip W.

The after hours return process failed. My location services apparently did not register and when I couldn't locate the tiny barcode on the building I hit cancel on the scan prompt. I was then prompted to drop my keys and finish the return. After I dropped the keys the site then told me there was a problem. Too late â€" keys were in the box. Called 1800 uhaul and was on the phone for 53 mins. Meanwhile I finally found the barcode, worked thru the return and never actually has a cust service rep pick up the phone sooo frustratingANDREW V.

The digital experience is very impersonal. I did not like it. I would rather deal with a person. And the person that actually gave me the trailer really didn't know that much about it. I felt like an inconvenience and also did not like the return process. I had to download an app, create an acct, take pictures, answer questions. . . . All I wanted to do was leave a trailer and drive away. What should have taken 2 minutes, took more like 20 minutes. My time is valuable too. Going to keep my eyes open for a trailer to purchase and negate the need to rent. It is too much hassle to rent all the time. I will say the trailer performed well and helped me deliver a car safely. The features on the trailer were very ergonomical, easy to use, and some were even clever.ANDREW H.

Truck was very old, needed shocks, used 13.5 gallons of gas for 61 miles ?????? Truck was not full when I picked it up ?????WILLIAM B.
Despite other trailers being cleaned / pressure washed by personnel while we were present, the trailer we were eenting to haul furniture had what appeared to be asphalt shingle grit along both edges at the base of both walls. We had already waited 20 minutes for the customer in front of us to be served and didn't want to refuse the condition of the trailer based on that dirt/debris alone. Also, the trailer had a bulky brake system installed on the tongue, but no tongue jack which is an industry standard for trailer tongues of this weight. This is a hardship for those of us with a bad back, and one area Uhaul corporation NEEDS to improve! Also, we were offered a discount and directed to a drop-off facility in another city. We accepeted the discount and completed the return as directed -except neither my phone or my wifes were abe to complete the online return because the web application failed to work. Then we spent 2hrs trying to contact u-haul) including 20 minutes and another 58 minutes on hold) before we could speak to someone -only to find out they could not process the account and only place a note on the account. the Uhaul app/website we were forced to use is total garbage and needs an option to over-ride the location tracking crap and add user photos that can be completed even after the return was performed. It just simply stopped working at the geo-locate page and refused to let us continue! (even though we both turned ON our location services.) After all this -it's not the locations faultâ€¦ but I don't see a place to rate UHaul here as an entity.JEREMY S.

I was on the phone for almost an hour trying to get my box delivered to lincolnshire il.. where it was promised to be delivered. They wanted to deliver it 40 mins away which wasn't going to work. Don't advertise and let me pay for delivery at lincolnshire if there is no warehouse there. Change your website. I was also told by two sales representatives that I couldnt pick up until after it had arrived for 24 hrs at the warehouse. This was not mentioned online(it allowed me to schedule moving help for the next day) and is not even true after talking to regional manager. PLEASE EDUCATE YOUR EMPLOYEES.Gail H.

The â€œscan the barcode to check in your vehicle after hours drop offâ€ did not work well at all. I spent half an hour trying to scan the barcode before dropping off the keys and I followed all the directions at the facility. Then I was charged $20 for an after hours drop off for not checking in my vehicle. I called uhaul, was on hold for 45 minutes, and it took a really long time for representative to answer my question about â€œwhat were the extra charges?â€ She kept saying it was tax bit i knew that wasn't correct since $40 tax would be for a much larger order. Finally she opened the invoice, said it was for a drop off after hours fee and for the dollies. I only added one dolly but was charged for 2. Eventually i received an email that my $20 after hours drop off fee was lifted but it took an extra hour of my life just to be on the phone and basically beg to have it refunded. The barcode didn't work- that really wasn't my fault.MICHELLE G.
