Ashish PThe hitch was installed fine but the hitch wiring was installed extremely poorly. They just attached to the wiring in the tail light cubby and did not run it where is can be used. The way it was done in not usable at all. Not pleased
Tom KApparently I interrupted their dinner because the staff just seemed as though they couldn't be bothered with a customer while they ate at the service desk. Overall I got the impression that they expected me to do most everything myself, which left me wondering what exactly it is that they're needed for. Upon return, signs posted everywhere clearly state that I was to wait in the vehicle..which I did, only to be met with an associate who rolled their eyes and said "ugh, next time just come inside". Don't worry it won't happen again!

ALVIN BI dropped off the trailer in the same stop I picked it up @ 1030 pm the same day I picked it up. The staff called two day later and said i need to bring the auto trailer back. the only auto transport trailer. So they charged me an another day even tho it was there the next morning.
ELICIA LI made a reservation with U-Haul Storage of Manchester West, 53-71 Spencer St, Manchester, CT 06040. The order guarantees the truck. However, when I arrived, there were no trucks available in the U-Haul Storage of Manchester West. It took more than 2 hours to finally get a truck.
Peinan ZThe rudest! I will never go back there again. If that was my only experience with U-Haul, I would never use U-Haul again. The girl who was supposed to be helping me was not helpful when I had a question. I asked to speak with the manager, he was condescending with eyes rolling. He had no idea why I was asking the question I was asking and he could care less. Also, the furniture dolly was not left on the truck. Please call me if you want more details. 860-416-9454. I plan to write more reviews about this U-Haul location. I'm from Manchester, CT., and I want people to know about my very bad experience with U-Haul Manchester.

thomas rStaff was great. The check in needs some improvement. Customers are at high anxiety when picking up equipment. If all the info you need could be done when the reservation takes place or in the convenience of the home, the experience could be smoother.
Lawrence sThe truck shook violently as we drove it. Also, the posted interior dimensions are a lie. The door is about 6 inches smaller than the rest of the interior, so we couldn't fit our bridge inside the truck by a couple of inches. Please change your posted dimensions to prevent this from happening to other customers.

Angelina GPickup was a frustrating ordeal. Upon rental reservation, I requested in-store checkin. On arrival I was told to check my cell phone amd complete check-in myself. I had my reservation information on hand, but it led to a lengthier process than necessary. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to the gentleman who assisted right away.

PAUL HWe have gotten onto a highway and noticed something under the hood. It was one of the U-Haul scanners/iPhones we called the number saying that we would get a reward. We were told to bring it back to where we rented the truck and we did approximately 5 o'clock the same day that we rented the truck, what will be our reward? Gracias por tu tiempo.

DANIEL IThe new system of using a smartphone to reserve a truck and check it out is cumbersome. Requiring 3 people for verification to be available when I needed to rent the truck was an imposition. Automating your process does save money however your system needs work. Only positive would be returning truck after hours

PETER BIt took over an hour to pick up the truck and was an incredibly, ridiculously convoluted process. I also was nickel-and-dimed like never before. I've used U-Haul a bunch of times, but will be looking at other companies the next time I need to move.

RICHARD LRented a trailer - reserved ahead of time hoping it would be a faster experience but when arriving the line was all the way in the parking lot and still had to wait in it to sign in with an employee … Hoping there was a separate line for those who reserve in advance, but only one line for everyone, the trailer was clean, and the gentleman was nice to help us hook it up to the hitch, but it had some damage to the bottom causing it to be hard to load some of our items when you push them in, they get caught on the damaged areas of the trailer .
MICHAEL JCheck out was terrible . Customer service was non existent and I brought the vehicle back during store hours . I was told I would have to wait 40 minutes if I wanted to be checked out or do it myself . There should be at least two people especially on a Saturday for what I had to pay . In addition, the link I was given when I picked up the vehicle had expired by the time I had brought the van home ( forgot my phone when I picked it up) to load the furniture so I had to call and wait for someone before I headed out to my destination .

ROBERT WTruck cab was clean enough to use but the cup holder and other spots on the dash were very dirty. I didnt want to delay my trip by complaining. Seats and floor were fine. Using auto sign in was slow and problematic. I was insist on in person pick up and drop off. The uhaul web service is not very good. App is down often.

ERICK VLet the employee at the desk verify ID and check you in. This new process of making the customer fill in all the info on their phone and go through that online verification is a huge waste of time and inconvenience.

Ami SBe more clear about storage online move in availability. As well as have faster service and staff with a better understanding of how to effectively use the software to check people into storage units.
Italia AThe basically self check in process is horrible, slow and poor connectivity. I did not want to send a picture of myself to god-knows-who in Arizona. Also there's no reason the human person behind the counter can't confirm my appearance matches my license. This is a horrible customer experience. Besides for this everything else was fine.

Renting a truck is like buying a vehicle have to go through an approval process that sucks - I would not recommend Uhaul to anyone rather it's for truck or storage this place has gone down hill fast. I paid monthly via bill pay from my bank and there were many times when you never cashed my checks (they were eventually returned to me by the bank as uncashed) and charged me late fees. Not good.

The first being the two young gentleman that helped me throughout the entire process absolutely pleasant and helpful! Answered every question I had, corrected entry problems and cudnt been more courtous n custimer friendly! Those 2 Gents were fantastic!!! 2nd part was two female at the location on 2/21/24 not helpful whatsoever, doors locked at 6:50 nor were they willing to help or answer any question. Told that all move ins are done online n that's what I needed to do. Proceeded to do the online move in while in my car than recd a t/c stating that they were sending me a link which I never received. Watched the two females locked up the store leave while I was still trying to process my account. No assistance at all offered nor was a swipe card given to grant me access to my unit. So needless to say the info of do it online n there's a bag w a lock n instructions inside the unit for me was not accurate nor helpful at all. Also, had questions on a reservation along with the online reservation n if I wud still be entitled to a free month of storage and not reserved two units and billed for them both. Thankfully when I returned in 2/22/24 the two gentleman were both there which I was grateful for their kinda assistance. Only outstanding issue currently is not given the free month of storage had to pay for the 1st month and advised to speak to the General Manager at that location.

The staff is always pleasant and has knowledge to share with customers to meet their moving (truck rental) and storage needs. I made a reservation online, and had the email with the reservation number, yet when I went in, they had no record of me at all. Then, on the day I tried to move in, the facility wouldn't let me POD be in their parking lot. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this would be, as a POD and a storage unit go hand in hand. I then had to spend the entire afternoon on the phone trying to figure out what to do to make things work and had to spend even more money on renting a truck to unload the POD into and then bring to a facility. I ended up cancelling the uhaul unit altogether, never having moved in, yet was still charged and never got my money back. Overall, terrible experience.

Abrigail S | First ImpressionsThe sales rep charged my card WITHOUT CONSENT (illegal) when the first month was supposed to be free due to this being part of a one way trip/storage unit bundle. The manager made it right by giving me my second month free, however when you budget funds and have important things to pay for during a move, things like this throw everything off. Absolutely unbelievable. My unit also had a mouse trap in it, so I'm not sure if this was precautionary or as treatment, but I got insurance so if anything happens it'll be (hopefully) compensated. A terrible overall experience for a move.

COMFORT P | Overall ExperienceCard reader never accepted my card. Made a reservation via phone for storage, and that reservation was never filed. Ended up with a unit only because one was still available. Made another reservation online. Called the day of move-in and was told there was a 7 day grace period to sign in at the office before the reservation expired. Arrived the next morning. A man at the next counter was angry that they didn't have his reservation. The clerk then started my interaction with "don't worry we take reservations seriously. We don't give them to anyone". A minute later I was being told that they had given my reservation away and it was really my fault for not coming the day before, despite the clerk remembering that I'd called and she'd said there was a grace period. Oh, and some moron decided it would be a great idea to install oversized speed bumps across the entrance/exit so every time you move cargo the trailer hitch gets stressed and the cargo gets jostled for absolutely no reason. I've moved to a far more professional facility.

Slow truck pick up time (uhaul employee talking endlessly with the customer in front of me). This is not a restaurant where you make small talk to get a tip. You're supposed to make the process quick and efficient so the next customer can pick up their truck in a timely fashion especially if you're the only employee there. Poor training. Nobody knows what is going on. They kept asking me who told me about the one free month for storage... At least they honored the free storage month that was promised (after a call to the manager, which wasted more of my time. My movers were waiting for me in the truck and I was paying them $200 per hour) So a 10 minute delay from uhaul employees cost me more than $33. Mala experiencia.
