I drove the truck 25 miles and was charged gas $23.85 for 5 gallons. So, your trucks only get 5 miles per gallon?? I feel like I was overcharged.
Ron H.Customer service was exceptional, however the condition of the truck as horrible. The driver door did not close fully and truck was very hard to drive because wheel alignment was off bad.

Eric M.I always use U-Hauls trucks and storage for my moves however this time my experience was dreadful so much to the point that I had in a panic attack a severe one The unit that I was supposed to be renting and your expert told me would be large enough for my furnishings to store was not I had to then go to another location to when your customer service representative call they said it was available I get there it was not I lost an hour with my movers trying to get a unit therefore a one-day move turn into a two and a half day move and I at the end of this move am exhausted and dissatisfied and have lost money. When I do move out of my unit I would no longer sadly be using U-Haul for anything going forward in the future nor can I recommend it to family or friends

Richard W.The dolly was a waste. There was no ramp on the truck I rented and that was something we were not planning on because they did not explain the different options. As a previous customer, I have always had a ramp included. I have lower back pain and was hoping the move would be smooth but instead we ended up not using the dolly to pull the furniture up and off the truck. Needless to say, my back took a load.

AHMED W.I had guessed an 8 hour rental would be sufficient. Things happen and I needed the truck for 18 hours. I was charged an additional day of rental. A 24 hour rental is charged for one day. I use U-Haul for every truck or trailer need and it is BS to be charged for 2 days and only had it for 18 hours.

When I got to that location they didn't have the truck size either. The lady Kayla was very helpful and got me another truck size smaller and added the dolly. She told the guy pulling the truck up to put the dolly on the truck. He didn't put the dolly on the truck so I had to drive back out to Madison. I was supposed to get the truck @ 9:30am. Didn't get it until 10:45am. All the while having movers waiting on me. Stressful

Jeff C.I got called one day early of my one week pick up truck rental. I rented it Wednesday and planned to return it Wednesday. Thankfully I didn't get charged extra. The previous renter left 2 hotel cards and a vape pen. I threw it away. Some food under the seat as well, like french fries.

Was told check engine light on was CO2 sensor and “not to worry about it†Mileage was incorrect at time of hire, was told it would be altered by 0.79c per mile!†- it was not. Drivers side window poured in water during heavy rain- was told on return, not to “worry about it.â€. Despite arm, clothing and cell phone getting soaked during heavy rain. Was informed that “vehicle had been stolen previously and concrete poured in the back and maintenance had not been performed properly†No discount offered or given. Terrible service. Terrible experience No one will read this. No one will care, Why am I even bothering? Penske and so many other options available.
David G.I tried contacting them and got 3 people who claim they couldn't find my information in September. I email them to tell them I don't want to lose my unit cause my mom is in there. Then October come and I get an email saying final attempt but they sold the unit. Now I can't get anyone on the phone.. would not recommend anyone here. I can't replace my mom or my engagement ring

Alexander M.My rental was given away because I was standing in line when the 60 minute grace period was exceeded. It would've been good to know that I only be an hour late before my reservation would be given away. Fortunately, the customer service line was able to give me back my truck reservation. Then the after-hours, on-line return app would not connect. Others checking in when I was there had similar problems.

DAVID K.The access code never did really work correctly and seems moot since there is no gate. There were dirt dauber nests on every wall and was it was severely infested with roaches. The facility treated the unit for roaches but did nothing about the dirt daubers. We had to remove them ourselves.

marquari K. | First ImpressionsMice and red wasps were a significant problem in my unit. I was assured at move in that pest control was a top priority for the facility. All off my items were stored in plastic bins, not cardboard boxes. However, several priceless heirlooms were damaged beyond repair by mice nests, urine, and feces. I was stung last summer when I opened my unit for sorting some items. I reported the wasps nests, and knocked down the nests myself repeatedly. My account was on autopay. More than once, I received a bill with "late fees" because the billing was not processed as expected. When I tried to contact the store, I went into corporate UHaul phone systems that were unable to resolve the issue or a never ending loop only to be told I'd need to physically visit the local office and pay my bill (even though it was in auto pay). Brandon and John are fantastic employees. Their hands are tied by an inefficient corporate structure that surrounds them. Note: The fencing at the back of the property near the train tracks is not secure. Two different times I was at my unit (toward the back of the property), the same couple was hanging out under the covered porch area. One time, they were arguing, and the argument escalated into physical blows. I immediately locked my unit and reported the incident to the office. I was unable to complete my unit sorting at the time due to the incident. This was not due to the fault of the workers. Staff have been accommodating, helpful, and customer service has been as expected. I have been credited fees and accommodated, but the pests were never under control. Building B has a mouse problem. Please ensure this is taken care of before promising patrons that their heirlooms and items will be safe from pests. Thank you to Brandon and John for their continued solutions. I would only recommend an indoor, climate controlled storage company/space future forward. Gracias.

Sally M. | Overall ExperienceI transferred my larger #45 unit to someone that shared half the space the last few months, we went inside the store in June 2020 with driver's licenses, credit cards, signed, auto pay, no longer my unit. In Dec 2020, I got the smaller #91 unit and discovered that my name was still on her #45 account online, I couldn't get to my #91 online because I was listed as hers for #45, her info also on it instead of my #91, couldn't pay my account or set up my usual auto pay. I received aggressive emails with a former manager's name at the bottom, the new manager of the past year not on the e-mails. No one could fix any of this with MANY unpleasant and lengthy attempts, no one could take responsibility, calling the 800# didn't help after much effort, and could never reach the Madison storage unit location by phone. I also had an especially hostile encounter with the employee Rory who did not respect me as a customer or believe anything that I said I was told and charged me a $39 late fee the first time I went in to try to get auto pay fixed in person since I couldn't get anything fixed online or through the 800#. If not for all this for almost a year, all else would have been good.

We arrived 15 minutes before closing with 2 trucks to return and 2 storage units reserved, and the man on staff walked in from his truck, told me they closed in 15 minutes and I should come back tomorrow. I asked to get started with the time available and finish our transaction- he then threw something down, and was as minimally helpful as possible in acknowledging and printing receipt. I had to ask for additional information 3 separate times about the units and where to find them. He was out by 7 pm.

Anytime the parking stall has blue paint it means that it is Handicap. My last day there an employee made me park where it was painted blue. She argued that it is not Handicap. Just because you start to scrape away the painted sign doesn't make it not Handicap, there is still blue and a ticket can still be issued.

I was not given a refund for the days I didn't use the storage, but conveniently charge 25.00 if I was a day late. I moved out the 28th of the month so that's 5 days before the next bill was due. I wasn't given the number to file a claim for the items destroyed or cleaning fee for the furniture that rats have climbed all over..

I received confirmation that I had a drive up unit reserved and when I got there after a 12 hour drive the facility had a second floor unit that was only accessible by a huge ramp. They were unapologetic about this and had no offers or attempts of rectifying the problem, I went to another facility.
Kevin W. | Overall ExperienceWe were displaced due to a horrible tornado that took out our home and belongings. I was loading items into my storage unit at the Madison, TN location alone. The ramp to the second floor unit was not large enough to pull the cart up with the boxes. It is a huge mess. I asked someone at the counter if they could just help me pull the cart up the ramp, which would take one minute of muscle. To which, a very dirty, unkempt woman with a big septum piercing looked at me and said "that's not my job sorry" and her coworker appeared to be concerned, but that's all that it was, appearances. She kept herself behind the counter while I cried. My posessions were broken from attempting to go up this ramp. So after losing almost everything, I lost more because one person couldnt be bothered to lend me a hand. This is absolutely shameful, and the Madison location should be ashamed of themselves. We are all Nashville neighbors, and the least that someone could do, is show a litle compassion. Disgusting.
