The pick up truck wasn't running smooth and it seemed like it was using a crazy amount of gas. It seemed affordable but it wasn't. For about a 80km trip I ended up paying $95 + $25 of gas = $120!!! Compared to the advertised $19.Sebastian R.

I had a friend pick up the trailer, spoke with someone in person the night before pickup. Told them he would be picking it up with our car, was informed they would need his driver's license and credit card. I informed them, the charges were to be put on my credit card. They informed me when we dropped it off they would confirm the credit card to be charged. When we dropped it off I informed them I was charged a rental for the ball, 20.00, when we wished to purchase it for the 10.95 instead. She informed me she would have the manger call me and then payment would be processed because she wasn't capable of changing the charges? The next day I received a receipt of charges, charged to my friends credit card and the charge for the ball at the rental rate processed. Total lack of communication at this location, not happy with the employees I had to deal with, they seem unconcerned with customer service!WILLIAM D.

With all highways closed to Vancouver I had to stay in a hotel for 4days waiting for the roads to Vancouver to open. They did not open so I had to go back. Finally highway 99 opened. On the phone when I explained my delay I was told there would be no extra charges. U-haul has charged me $120 plus tax extra. With all the communities pulling together in these hard times I feel U-Haul dropped the ballBrendan R.
I dropped off the truck and was delt with by a male worker. He told me what the charge was for the kms and I explained to him that I took pictures before and after of the kms. I also explained that the vehicle was unexpectable for today's covid standards. He gave me attitude and told me that it was my responsibility to go through the check list (that I was not told about). The female worker corrected the issue but I don't feel that it is my job to make sure the vehicle is up to standard which makes me now concerned if the truck was even safely maintained.Mathew B.
The fuel gauge was inaccurately marked. The box of the truck had gravel and sand left from the previous rental. The inside of the vehicle needed to be wiped down and disinfected as it looked like it hadn't been done for months. The battery in the key was dead and the locks had to be manually operated. We had brought jerry cans of fuel and the tool for the gas filler was missing along with the jack and spare tire. Good thing we didn't get a flat tire. The actual experience of booking , paying, pick up and delivery and invoicing is exceptional and the location of the dealer was perfect for where we stayed and dealt with our business while we were there. I would only recommend this location because it is in a good location and I like the U-haul system. The dealership needs a good kick in the butt.Brian W.

Have the correct vehicle for rental that was booked. I was going on a ferry book the length of the truck that was booked and confirmed and then given truck and trailer cost me extra money. Plus I had to come back and get the trailer and they charge me extra mileage. Not very fairROBERT S.

The staff is extremely incompetent to understand customer issues. There are 4 mem who keep talking in their native language while the customer is present. The lady there is very sweet, unfortunately we didn't find her the other say and had to deal with the boys. And I wished they were kind in their approach when asked for help. They showed as if it a favour that they are doing on us while we have already paid for all the services. Infact, they also charged me for my storage rental inspite of me closing it long back and emailed me that the payment is in arrears. They failed to update their system and keep charging customers for their lack of competency. I had to call the customer service and lady there was extremely kind and patient to understand the issue and help me resolve my concern in jo time. The staff at Langley needs to learn the basics to interact and deal with concerns and not throw shit at them. Moreover, if I have replied to the email saying that I have been charged by mistake, they should have taken a look into it before replying back at me that it is still in arrears and forcing me to call the customer service and wasting another 45mins on hold. However, I would rather talk to the customer service than having to deal with the representatives at the Uhaul, Langley. Uhaul vehicles are great, unfortuantely the staff makes it difficult to have a good experience.Arnab A.

On-line check in was not straight forward. I did try to use the On-Line check in. I did reach a point , where I had to ask an employee where I could find my truck. He pointed me to the corner of the yard where the truck was parked. After I got to my truck, I noticed that I needed the truck keys. Now I was told to go to the office.This definitely not a smooth check in. I must have spend an extra 15 min. This is something that definitely needs improvement.Danny A.

I suggest renting from another company if you want fair treatment by counter staff and management. Phone service is a joke good luck and get ready to spend hours on the phone. Once you get a manager they will not be able to break policy to help you out even after trying to just walk away multiple times I was told no. Online support is quicker but still no one will be able to break policy. So with this company stance on service issues I finally got to what I thought was the top of service Cindy Dix. After our conversation I was lead to believe the situation had been resolved. I received a bill the following day. Worst company attitude I have ever encountered. I tried to walk away as I do not have time to argue with them but now I am committed to the process they have laid out to me. Maybe have the truck brought out to the front ready to go, when I arrived I had to wait 15 minutes for the truck to defrost and then found that there was oil of some sort on passenger side of the windshield. It would also be a-lot easier to pick up the truck with a full tank of fuel and then return it with a full tank, the first thing I had to do was find a gas station!Robert G.
Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience here. The employee that took care of the return of our truck tried to overcharge charge us for missing gas. After voicing our concerns and showing pictures of the gauges before and after rental the charges were taken off. Just a warning to people to protect themselves with photos !!JASON M.

I called the office to discuss my grievances several times and was put on hold but have gotten multiple requests to respond to the service. Due to my medical condition I was not able to move my belongings. A friend drop the key off at the office for my mover to access my locker. When the mover got to the office they couldn't find the key but happily let him cut the lock.They even supplied the tool I would've been happy to give my permission If they had called me, after all how did they know who he was. My schedule was unilaterally change from the morning to the evening. The appliance dolly we rented was not in the truck; almost got injured trying to do the same job with a utility dolly. The retrieval of the keys was painful because the lock wouldn't open. The return process video didn't say that you need to take all the pictures before you walk away from the truck as you need to enter them directly to the site. You cannot upload them from your phone. I doubt I will use U-Haul again. The front desk people was nice and the equipment was clean and functioning properly. Otherwise, I would rate it Poor.Javier Aldo D.

Uhaul makes you do their job now. There is very little interaction with them. You have to do the walk around, take pictures, upload them. And the same goes for when you return the truck. I needed to speak to someone at the Langley location while I had the cargo van. I was always immediately placed on hold (no one spoke asking me to hold) and stayed on hold until I gave up. This happened EVERY SINGLE TIME. While in the office to discuss what I needed to discuss on the phone, I watched the counter person repeatedly put a call on hold and only serve customers that were in the office. At no time did the counter person ever answer a call. I have rented from other Uhaul locations and did not have this problem.MARGO F.

I had a 2 day rental for $19.95/day, added the CDW coverage, and returned the trailer before the 2 day deadline with no damage. My booking receipt said total charges of $59.90 which is 2 days at $19.95 plus $10/day for CDW so with PST and GST it totals $65.69. That is what I expected to be charged. The employee I returned the trailer to informed me I would receive my receipt by email. When I received that receipt I had been billed for 3 DAYS plus 3 DAYS CDW plus GST and PST for a total of $98.53!! Now I need to waste my time writing this review, AND following up to get my $32.84 that should never have been charged. Very frustrating!Barry J.

When I was at the front counter inquiring about my unit, the staff member was not very helpful. I asked where was the unit located and got the answer "I think building 1". When I finally found the unit there was a lock already on the door. I went back to the office and asked about it to the same employee he just looked at me. I said it looks like one of u-hauls locks maybe. He then said well yes I put it there. I had to then ask how do we get it removed, he said well I guess I could go out there in a bit. I ordered a locker and upon inspection found a dead mouse and numerous droppings within the unit. I asked to have it cleaned and would return in a couple of days to move in. When I returned I was unable to access the main gate and had to return the next day to talk with office staff.
