I've been in the industry for a very long time so I'm unsure if it's just because I have had it drilled into my head that the way you treat people will most likely be the way they treat you back! I came in to pick up the truck I reserved and the lady who walked in (I think was the start of her shift) simply expressed the hate she had for being there, I get it we all hate work. No one should really know how you truly feel, especially costumers. I tried to call the store a few times to see if I could keep the truck for one more hour as we had some troubles when I locked up the truck we were a little behind. When I got through the lady on the other end stated the truck had to be returned at 3pm. When I came returns the truck (costumer service over the phone) had said I should talk to the manager, not knowing who the manager is I came in and the lady (same from this morning) asks if I'm returning, yes but I would likeâ€¦.. as she's always walking away. I would to inform her about the truck. Not only was the head light out but the truck was disgusting, old chips on the floor, so much dirt and hair, she didn't seem to care to much as she told me while walking out the door her manager would help me outâ€¦. 20 minutes later a gentleman shouted â€œthat's all, using debit or credit!!!! He did say sorry but it never really get like the truck was a concern to him as well. I understand we all need to pay bills and the companies do as well but you are not going to eat a burger that you didn't order when you asked for a salad with chicken, are you? Taking 10$ of and not even having a conversation with me about the truck has made it seem like these things happen all the time, next time I can go else where, where they actually have a conversation with you at the desk, not while they are waking out the door.Leslie S.

Picked up the truck. As soon as I get 100 ft down the road a low tire pressure light comes on. Stated gas was 5/8 of a tank. Didn't get 500 ft away and the needle dropped to just over half tank. Rented for 100km (58mi) google mapped my route to 90km. So total driving will have been 100km maybe 110km. Filled truck back to the 5/8 mark. Then when I dropped it off they charged me another $65 for what the person said was over mileage?? Like what no way. Oh yah, no receipt of the final transaction emailed so I can't verify where the heck the extra $65 came from. Not happyPAULJ P.
We should have been able to drop it off ten minutes from my new home. They have a location in Norwood. We had to drive an hour to Peterborough and was an hour from our new home. We even mentioned a few times that we really wanted to drop off in Norwood. Basically in the end if we paid more money then arrangement could be made for the Norwood drop off. That didn't sit well with me so we felt forced to drive to Peterborough. Other then that everything was great.SANDRA C.

Based on my most recent experience, be more alert to the customer. The employee should of done his Job right. I received the wrong trailer to my car. He did not check the lights. He took a picture of his hookup and that was all he did. The left turn signal did not work while driving. It was an old unit.LESLEYF M.

I have rented from uhaul a lot over the last couple of years, here and Florida, The lady yesterday was not the least bit pleasant, I asked if I could upgrade my truck from a 10ft to a 15ft, she didn't even open her mouth, she did a very small no head move. And after that she wasn't the least bit friendly, just a dull person acted like everyone was putting her out, she needs more customer service training. I originally ordered from U-Haul a 5X9 foot ramp trailer as I needed to return a lawn tractor to its owner in Prince Edward County. The equipment was in good condition and served well for this purpose. I extended my rental of this trailer through October 25 (13 days) to assist me in my planned move to a new residence. On October 15th, members of my family came (from out of town town) to assist me for the weekend. Unfortunately, that weekend was predicted questionable wet weather, so I contacted U-Haul and asked whether I could switch the equipment from the ramp trailer (open/utility) to an enclosed cargo trailer for the weekend. U-Haul Kingston (Princess Street) was very helpful in fulfilling my request to switch to a 6x12 foot enclosed trailer for my use that weekend. I am extremely happy and grateful for the service U-Haul Kingston provided to make available the right equipment for my purposes in a quick and timely fashion and adjust the rental cost accordingly. I will, of course, recommend U-Haul Princess Street, Kingston, to anyone asking me for a reliable (and friendly) rental source for quality moving equipment. The location pickup was wrong on the website and I had to drive across town to pickup my reservation (also increasing cost by km). The truck had a old can of Pepsi rattling behind the seat accompanied by a couple of old masks.DOMINIQUE S.
The person who greeted me was a little robotic at first, saying "how can I help you" without looking at me. Then the interaction was very positive, efficient and clear. I received an electronic message to my smart phone as I got into the rental van, asking me to confirm the mileage and state of the vehicle. This is excellent. On return of the vehicle, the agent just told me to leave the keys if I paid by credit card, and I was able to leave right away, with no check-in. While this is very efficient, I did not receive any confirmation of return of the vehicle then or afterwards, and the mileage and gas state were then based on an honour system for both me and you. The customer reps were good. However my issue is that I booked a vehicle in Napanee Ontario for 9am. When I arrived I was told after the rep was on phone with head office that I would have to travel 45mins to Kingston Ontario to pick up my vehicle. This caused almost 90min delay and the knock on impacts to my days schedule were very problematic. I received a $50 rebate. I'm dissatisfied with the overall service and the compensation for my time. I will be very leery of using uhaul again as my preference for personal and business use as I cannot trust the guarantee of vehicle I want at location I choose. Paul CarrollPaul C.

when working/sorting things in our storage unit 1813, the hallway light often went off and made it pretty dark in there. wish the sensor lights stayed on a bit longer. I also found it a bit challenging accessing the entrance for unloading/loading.
