I'm never quite when returning equipment in the return area if I should wait there for someone to help me or get out and go inside. Some of your locations are very clear but a I struggle at your Kingsport location. It would be great if there was signage that makes it very clear what the protocol is, thanks!

It was a 50-50 chance if the staff was actually helpful… You could be out either loading or unloading your unit and in the parking lot in front of the facility and the staff were speeding and taking turns a very high speeds wheel screeching through the parking lot with no regard to anyone else in the parking lot. At time she got unsafe.

The customer service person behind the counter, I think her name was Kelly, was not very personable. I mentioned to my husband, as we walked out, that she was just a little on the sour side. It might have been that we were there on a Sunday and she didn't like having to work on the weekend. Also, when I reserved the truck, it didn't give a spot to estimate the miles I was planning to drive, so the quote was like $45. When we got to the counter, Miss Sunshine asked how many miles were were going. We gave her an estimate of 100, which bumped the bill to $128. The end result was 44.3 miles so the bill was 74.52. Still more than the original quote. Please allow your customers to estimate their mileage. Expecting $45 and walking out with a rental contract of $128 at the beginning is quite a shock. Especially if you are budgeting based on the initial quote.

I tried to sign-in the truck online and I was prompted to take a picture of the fuel level, which I did. When I returned the vehicle and received my receipt thru email, I had been charged for 4 gallons of gasoline. The employee who checked in the truck claimed I had changed the fuel level on the sign-in page and I had turned it in with less fuel than required. He wouldn't even look at my paperwork, which clearly stated the fuel level when I initially checked out the vehicle. Luckily, there was a competent employee who straightened out the mess, which had billed me for $28 more than I wound up paying. If I ever need to use U-Haul again, I will not be signing-in online. I'm going to have the employee manually do it to avoid any problems

There were three roaches found on my belongings . Also sent my girlfriend into get a copy of my access card so she could get in and some employee made a comment on how she had attractive feet. He had long hair and wore a silver chain. The staff was not knowledgeable of the insurance U-Haul offers and acted as if they wanted to hurry up and get me out of the store. Overall this store provides a very unprofessional and unfriendly experience.

Alignment was out causing the wheel to shake. The brakes sounded like they were grinding and the truck didnt seem to be stopping very well at. Now the best part! Transmission going up the mountains was jerking I didn't know if the universal joint was going to break or what the deal was but it shifted rough in the lower gears even on straight always. Uhaul best be glad that their truck didn't kill me since they don't want to actually maintain the vehicle properly with proper inspections , driving, and actual care of their property.

General manager Kelly is extremely rude and unfriendly. Most of the female employees are unfriendly. They were unwilling to let us use the current free month promotion, I had to go all the way to the president of marketing before they would work with me. We are in a bind and have no where to put our belongings after a move or I would take everything out.

Your employees at the destination places were very helpful but we were not told at the pick up places that we had to have the trucks back by 11a.m. also when given the link to check into self storage it was not made very clear that you had to look for the one month free spot your self. I talked with a human first so I wasn't expecting to have to find that button for a month free. I feel we were nickel and dimed to death and I didn't get my month free.

Your management and front desk staff need a course in customer courtesy. I've rented from that location, a corporate store, many times and have yet to find friendly service. I've gone to franchise locations instead and found good customer service. Also this truck vibrated so bad I couldn't use the exterior mirrors. Also the a/c fan was hardly blowing and was set at high!!! Sweated to death until the cab finally cooled off. A totally bad experience

The location on East Stone Drive, Kingsport, is where I rented from and the girls there were very rude. They rented the wrong dates for my truck and dolly. Then when I returned the truck in Pensacola, Florida they did not check in dolly only the truck. Very dysfunctional Company. The only person named Stormy in Pensacola knew what she was doing when she extended my days needed.

The ladies we're very helpful even though they were getting slammed. I only had an issue about not knowing for sure about where to return my rig? Should I go inside or wait for someone to come out to me? I didn't notice any signage to help make that clearer (on the other hand, the Johnson City location is very clear how that works).

Checking the van out that morning was great, the guy that helped me was super nice and efficient. I had the vehicle back at 6:46 and wasn't able to get checked out. The associate was rolling in the cleaning supplies, she saw me pull up, we exchanged hellos and she pulled the cart in and locked the door. I waited a few minutes for someone to come out and I finally went inside. The same associate then told me that systems close down at 6:50pm and I would have to leave my key in the drop box and get my receipt the next morning email in the morning, or I could try checking in through my phone. Just seems odd to me if a place closes at 7 why they can't service customers until 7.

As I said previously, the truck was not in great running condition. The screeching noise was horrible to deal with for 7 hours. I feel like I should have been refunded something for the trouble. But that was not offered.

Make sure that the service desk pays attention to online reservations! I had a truck reserved for 2 days and the guy gives me a contract for 1 day! I didn't know until I got a call from a uhaul employee telling me the truck was due back and they had it rented to another customer! Well, it worked out anyway, but for future reference, make sure your staff pays attention to reservations! It was most embarrassing!

We were helping my mother in law move their stuff with ours. They got a second storage unit a week ago and they wasn't told they needed to walk all the way down there and put a lock on it. They are 70 years old. They kept trying to charge them $50 to take the lock off even though it was t theirs. The girls were very rude. We have 3 storage units their ourselves and we are looking for somewhere else because they treated them horrible. They still couldn't get in there storage unit.

The computer system crashed just as we were finalizing payment on the contract. Rep called the call center and told whole system was down. Began an offline/paper contract, then finished electronic when system was back up. Spent an hour there.

The absolute worse experience I have ever had with any truck rental in my life. I reserved my truck for 8:00 with the online pick up… and of course it didn't work. I talk to the employees setting up for the day who refused to help because it wasn't 9:00. Forces to sit around while my mover got paid even though I didn't have a truck. Then when filling the gas I believe they intentionally modify their fuel sending unit to illegally force you to pay for more gas than is needed. I WILL NEVER USE U-HAUL AGAIN! From here on I will be using Enterprise or ANY other company. Your unethical billing, fuel gauge manipulation, and lack of ANY customer service have made your business go on my black list. I will never recommend your business to anyone again. You have lost a lifetime customer from your actions this time!! I'm sure I won't even be contacted about any of this just to reiterate that lack of “give a crap” from U Haul and corporate America that DOES NOTHING for those that get screwed by the corporate machine!

Overall a great system. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and nice. The loading area is small and the people block it sometimes. Maybe remove the concrete island in the parking lot in front of the loading area so it's not so tight and easier to back in. Adding the additional doors farther down to load/unload would be helpful. The indoor loading setup is great. Any chance to load/unload on the back of the building?

I did not the fact that I had so much of my time. I had made a reservation for both storage as well as a truck. Upon checking in was told my unit was not available. This is after I confirmed 2 times over the phone with the local Branch. An hour after I left I was called and was told that amazing they had my storage available.

I was greeted with genuine friendliness and helped focusing on My needs. On returning the truck I was treated the same way and helped with an unusual problem without any hesitation. The facility is cleaner than most homes. Should be very proud of the staff.

Your storage facility was exceptionally well maintained and convenient. The truck rental was disappointing: The truck was dirty in the front and the back. Someone should have checked if the mirrors needed adjustment since they cannot be adjusted without a tool of some sort. My driver didn't realize the large blind spot on the right side requiring constant additional attention from the passenger until entering a highway. Someone should at least inform a driver as how the mirrors can be adjusted. Especially for almost a 2000 mile journey. Thank you for the excellent storage experience.

Great staff. Very helpful. Clean facility. Good prices. Only 1 comment Maybe remove the concrete curb/island in front of the loading area by the front doors. It would be helpful to have more space for trucks to back in. People back in with trailors and block the whole parking lot passage.

Everything was awesome all the personnel were great. The price points a little high though for a 10 x 10... After this crazy rush is over and all the folks moving to escape Tyrannical governors. Then you might lose some people to lower cost units as they are going up everywhere. And then it's going to get competitive for you. Don't get the jab. You may regret it later or you could regret it sooner if you get a blood clot or die. Also it doesn't protect you against the Delta variant and it gives some people Covid. Covid is almost 100% survivable. So the whole thing is nuts. 7500 people die every day in the United States of all causes and Covid's getting rolled into all of it. Just trying to help you make a good decision. Get the facts. There are medication's that treat viruses and I've worked for years very effectively. By talking about them get you censored. The main stream media has an agenda and my only tell you one part of the story. Also if you had Covid already you definitely don't need the jab. Oh one last thing on this experimental vaccines may affect your ability to reproduce so if you haven't had children you might wanna hold off for that reason. There have been some reported cases of miscarriage after the vaccine. Just sharing my insight to the random person that might read this. Gracias

I know it's a climate controlled storage unit, but when moving in the hot heat of summer, it would be nice to walk into a cooled building. It was just as hot inside as it was outside which made moving that much more miserable. Other than that, would use Uhaul storage again.

I had to ask another person for assistance to enter the building & that person also had tools to open the unit and to open the lock packaging. My unit was one long walk and not easy to find, as was not on the chart provided. I guess with the convenience of getting a unit on a holiday, it made up for the little annoyances.

Young man working the front desk was clueless. He couldn't understand my questions. He kept wanting my "card". Finally he got it that I did not have a card... I had an access code. Wish there was also a bank loading/unloading dock. Taking items all the way through the units was very difficult on the little carts. Units, however are clean.

I love the convenient free rental company policy. After spending over $1300 on this relocating thus far-the friendly, & welcoming staff on E Stone Dr. in Kingsport, TN was a super plus. The drop off location on W Stone Dr. was a totally different experience. They didn't refund my deposit. I'm waiting on a call back from an email, or I'll be contacting someone at the company soon.
