Pickup and return was good when I called to register for the rental they told me none was available at the location I picked for pickup and agent would call me and let me know if they couldn't get me a car trailer at that location no call had to call morning of and they told me they got one delivered to that location I was starting to freak out because I needed it badly but in store experience was awesomeMichael W.
Your Weslan facility has racist employees working there unwilling. To help people find rentals especially people of color. I will no longer be visiting that facility and I will never ever recommend my friends to rent a U-Haul from that facility.Henry W.

I reserved a dolly and none were available when I arrived. She offered me a different type of dolly and I accepted then got home to find no dolly. I had to go back to the location to find out the dolly I reserved was available but on a different truck. It's frustratingâ€¦ moving is not fun and this added to the stress. the storage units smell like urine, cigarettes and fish it looks as though storages are never cleaned and never been cleaned before renting to the next customer. The storages are also not closed off which puts customers belongings at high risk for been contaminated by other customers items in storage example if someone has bedbugs and they spread my items aren't protected because there's a opening at the top. The price of a 4x6x8 is 70 bucks which is outrageous compared to the amount of storage you are getting, management is horrible and not easy to speak to I asked to speak to a manager and they refused to come out only kept sending the employee back and forth communication was awful and each person I spoke to gave my information that was correct they overcharged me and the manager still refused to speak with me. I had to call corporate to get things fixed properly which corporate was able to do but this store location is horrible the storage units are unsanitary and the staff needs to all get on boards with knowing the policy and prices because they amount of misinformation that was being giving out is ridiculous. If wasn't for the employee that checked me out I wouldn't have even gave a star my overall experience has been horrible 0/10 I would never recommend you guys to anyoneKameron D. | First Impressions

Called two weeks in advance to hold a cargo van for Sunday June 5 th. Also stopped at location three days before to confirm reservation. When I arrived to pick up van on the 4th, there was no van to be hadâ€¦. Not even one on the lot. They did not seem to know what to do. I asked if there was another van at a different location and they found one for me. So I had to drive to another place to pick up and I was on a time frame and really did not have the extra time to go get it but I had no choice. Then when I returned the van on time, I was to go on a link on my phone and take puctures. This did not work on my phone. I tryed to call different numbers to get help and no one knew what to do so today I'm waiting for someone to call me back. A hassle to return. Very sad that this did not go well.GLORIA MORANIEC F.

They took too many reservations for all of the equipment. I had to convince them to let me please have the truck I had reserved almost a week before. When I said I'd take anything with a hitch on it, they told me they couldn't give me someone's reserved truck. All I wanted was MY reserved truck and only got it because my need was local and would only take a couple of hours.Laura S.

My experience was horrible. I was given an incorrect quote by the representative on the phone. I get to the site and was given a different quote. The Taylor location is terrible. They ran my employees info and he had an existing bill. Therefore they would not rent equipment to me because we were considered associated because we drove in together. This was not my bill. Not was my employee and in no way related to me. I didn't say anything to avoid any more embarrassment to my employee. However I do believe your policies need to be changed. I'm a business owner who used uhaul often. I will be using a different services from now on any time the Livonia location does not have what I need. This is the only location I will be renting from in the future. The 6X12 enclosed trailer we rented to move my son home from college leaked. The reason we rented an enclosed trailer was because the threat of rain. When we returned the trailer the lady checking us in said oh yeah it says right here that it leaks. Why would you rent this without telling some it leaks.Kristie W.

I had to wait almost ten minutes to return my equipment. To the stores credit they were busy on that Sunday morning. Everything other then my wait time was good.John S.
Fix the uhauls, we had to give the uhaul a boost about 3x through our midnight move.Alexis M.
I was told to go outside and reply to text message about damage, if any. No explanation, no help. By the way it was raining hard, and cold. There was cover in the lot but no one offered to move it so I could inspect it. Truck was dirty inside cab. I had to buy disinfecting wipes to clean brown crude off cup holders. Seats were sticky and wiping them the cloth came away brown. Steering wheel sticky. Old food scraps on floor under seats.. My reserved truck wasn't ready. I was 30 minutes early to pick up and was rudely told I would just have to wait. While they called the person who had the truck i was supposed to get and wasn't going to be back on time. Then they "just gave me the 20 ft. truck instead " as if they were doing me a favor when I requested a 15 ft. Then I asked to change the drop off location and was told they can't. Just do it later myself I was told. That turned into 2 hours of wasted time. See below.Daniel N.

I made the reservation weeks prior. Was called 2 days prior to pickup and relocated to a place located 20 minutes away. We picked up the date and time we specified in the reservation and had none of the equipment we "reserved" including appliance and utility dollies. The staff was not helpful and basically told us they can't actually reserve equipment which makes no sense. We had to hurry to find equipment within the hour elsewhere as the furniture we were moving was too heavy. Overall a very unreliable company.Jessica S.

Hitch and wiring installation was done by uhaul. Unfortunately was not working and break lights did not come on. Installation and warranty documentation presented to front desk but they refused to look and the issue and asked to make an appointment. I had to find a shop to fix the wiring at the cost of $200 for something uhaul should have done properly the first time or at a minimum respect the warranty and address the issue right then and there. Extremely disappointing behavior!!! Complete disrespect to a customer. Shame on you.Ehod E.

The breaks were very mushy, you could hear a hissing ding when applying the breaks, the unit was not clean, there was sticky mess in the cup holders on the door. The unit appeared to struggle to accelerate, and bounced excessively when going over the smallest of bumps. They did not have another available so I used it but will not go back to that location again.Tracy K.

Unload area needs a ramp and the entry doorway needs some concrete work. This would make it easier to push loaded carts into the facility storage area. There were only one flat bed cart and one mattress cart on site. Everything else was fine and the customer service was friendly and helpful.Steve S.

The equipment was clean. The truck has a leak in the upper right (passenger) over the cab area. I drove thru rain and there was a considerable amount of water inside in that area. The truck also has a pull to the left. I am failing to understand why a moving truck of any size would be ordered without cruise control. The 10 hour drive without it was painful at best, and I will not use any of your trucks moving forward if they are not so equipped!Tim D.

First, I did not intend to use this facility. I was promised/reserved one in Ann Arbor, with a month free that came along with my rental of a trailer for a move from Virginia. When we arrived in Ann Arbor, of course, there was nothing available, not even a mobile box. They sent us to Inkster, who honored the first month free but didn't have the smaller size (less expensive unit) we were promised so we were pushed into a larger more expensive unit. Bait and switch comes to mind, and as much business as I've given your company I find it highly disappointing. I asked, at least, if I could get the the unit at the same price promised for the Ann Arbor unit. The manager said she had no control over the pricing and couldn't help me. So, here I am needing to return the trailer and no where (after the second site) to store my belongings (and I'd just driven several hundred miles.) Did I feel taken advantage of. Yes I did. And I will tell anyone who asks. It's clear your company recognizes that moving is no fun; it's also clear you practice predatory pricing and business tactics that take advantage of stressed out customers. You could change that with a simple policy: Ensure your site managers have the ability to make adjustments to help customers when your company fails to deliver what is promised -- particularly when they're sent to another city when you fail to have the reservation available.Christine U. | Overall Experience

The only experience I had that seemed off was with the way the contract was started. The employee recorded was the date I moved with the rented truck. I rented the storage about a week earlier So when I called to see what day my bill was due I was told the wrong date Then they charged me late fee of $25. I disputed it of course and was able to get a refund. The 2nd time I paid the bill on the due date and again was charged the late fee.I called again and was told the payment needed to be there on the due date as this time I received no credit. Then later I learned the correct one. I had a 5 day window to pay before being charged a late fee U-Haul needs to train their employees better so everybody can be on the same page. After I vacated the storage with a truck tental; I was called to tell them what date I closed the rental because it wasn't recorded properly. One time while checking in, one of the desk people were rude when I asked how to check in correctly. I had only been one other time and didn't have to use my card because they checked me in. When I checked out, they did not follow through with the online check out and I received a bill with a late charge. I spend 20 minutes on hold to talk to someone to get it taken care of. I feel the storage units should have a light inside so you can see and I discovered that previously my unit had a rodent problem because it was a device in there for that and I didn't like that. Also, I really didn't like the caucasian lady that work in the store with multiple hair color ( blue, yellow) she had a attitude. Chameika, one of the clerks, was not very helpful in helping me to understand why I was quoted for the wrong size storage unit. She kept saying that it wasn't her responsibility if the U-Haul call center staff made an error. I felt this was unacceptable because I had my movers waiting in the parking lot for her to reassign me a space, and when she did, she initially wanted to charge me for a higher-than-quoted-for rate. Very disappointing experience, especially since my experience renting a storage unit from this place in the past was impeccable.
