I had paid for a hand truck/dolley to be included in the rental. I did not realize until i reached my destination (50 miles away) that it was not in the back of the truck. I tried to contact UHaul several times during the day and finally got through to the answering service who said they would have someone from this location call me -- i never received a call. I ended up returning the truck with no issues to my drop-off location and am now just "hoping" they do not charge me for a "missing" dolley. Overall, UHaul needs to improve their answering service/ability to contact the rental locations.Beth M.

Lynn and her staff we're just awesome. They helped us on a Sunday as we were preparing to move our daughter to Boarding School. Even though it was very close to closing time at U-Haul they still treated us as if we were there on time. We are so grateful. Thank goodness for Holyoke. They get 5 stars and Northampton gets ZERO. I was supposed to pick up in Northampton- nobody showed. Business was supposed to open at 7.. waited till past 8. Finally the help line sent me to Holyoke. Out of my way and cost me a total of 3+ hours wasted time and travel. Holyoke location did well to accommodate me.DENNIS S.

The online interface is horrible and made it first mean that my truck, that I thought I had reserved for the full day, not actually be reserved. When I went to be pick it u this ment that my sister, who was actually the one driving, needed to get another truck for another day, that turned out to be for the wrong location and she needed to reschedule it a third time, and she was the one who got billed, not me! ðŸ˜'Cara E.

I originally went to rent one from Union street in west Springfield. They were so slow, understaffed, inexperienced, and we're not able to provide a safe hook up for the trailer. The issue was the shackles did not fit and they wanted to not provide me with any additional d-shackles or carribeaners to make it safe. I left in a huff hating their attitude towards a customer. I went to Home Depot and bought heavy duty shackles and went to the location in Holyoke. I have overall had very bad experiences with uhaul. The Holyoke one was better. But I'll be leaving a poor google review for west SpringfieldScott M.

Worst experience ever! They changed my reservation from a 15' truck to a 10' truck two days before pick up then changed the time and location about 5-7 times the day before. It is very stressful moving and then for u haul to keep changing the size of the truck, location, and time of pick up made it worst! We had to end up driving over and hr out of our way to pick up a truck. The customer service was horrible! They just kept saying â€œsorry for the inconvenience, nothing we can doâ€. Plus we were suppose to have a utility dolly rented with our truck. I spoke to a women the night before picking it up to verify and she claimed it was all set in the truck. When picking up the truck they had no dolly and then claimed they had non left now. I will never rent from U Haul again and I'll be sure to tell all my friends, family, and acquaintances to never do business with U Haul.JEFFREY R.

Everything was fine until my vehicle was locked inside the facility and I was told, effectively, too bad you can get your vehicle tomorrow at 5 AM. I live nearly an hour from the facility and had to find a family member to come and pick me up. There should be signage inside the garage bay stating that the doors will not open after 10PM. Having tried to open them at 10:01PM, I mow know this to be the case. I would appreciate a call back from the general manager and hope there can be a resolution for wasted time and poor communication.Jeffrey W. | Online Move In
I had reserved the truck from a more convenient location, only to get a call the night before that it would only be available at a different site. When I asked if I would receive some discount for the inconvenience, the U-Haul rep said to inquire with the manager of the second site. When I did (the next morning), the very pleasant manager said I had to inquire through the toll-free number. Today, I did that (after waiting on hold for 52 minutes), only to be told that I should have done my â€œwheeling and dealingâ€ with the agent with whom I had spoken the night before the rental. (Which I tried to do!). Needless to say, I will not be using U-Haul ever againâ€¦JOHN G.
They were incredibly helpful with answering my questions on site and getting me set up with a different storage unit that actually suited my needs. My only wish is that it was possible to call the store directly to ask questions before arriving there. No one on the national phone line could give me clear answers about the location and it could have saved time. They also seemed understaffed for how busy of a season it isROBERT D.

We walked in to find only one employee working, on speakerphone with a customer attempting to book their first uhaul rental, thoroughly and specifically explaining the difference between one-way and round trip. We had keys visible in hand to drop off a truck and this employee actively ignored us (not inviting). Finally we spoke up and asked if we could just leave the keys, at which point she waved her arm casually at the counter without so much as a glance up at us. The gentleman who walked out with us and inspected the truck was very friendly and helpful, but the woman inside the location was useless and rude.Ian M.

First of all, please pay the staff better or hire additional helpers, they bust there butts running around and do a great job multi tasking ,but sometimes they are needed at the counter but they are out sweeping a truck, showing a unit off or whatever.Also ... If a customer reserves a room online ,make sure to show pics of what they are gonna expect upon moving in . For example : if someone reserves the biggest room they should be aware that its a overhead unit that is accessed by rolling stairs . Its already difficult and stressful to move and put stuff in storage, but having to figure out what your unit looks like and how it's accessed is even more awful when you need to change things and you're already in a time crunch for renting a truck,room, workers, etc . Pics of the units , hallways ,stairs , would be huge help . Also for the love of God please please please allow stairway acces with no problems , there's only 1 elevand its very hard when there's multiple people moving and only 1 elevator. So either get another elevator or allow stairs, 1 more thing is carts , there's just not enough , thankfully most people are generous and share but if there was more it would help significantly, and if there was more you could leave 1 on each level with a set of metal stairs . I'd give this a solid 3 out of 5 but thats mainly cause the staff is so good and not the ease of accessing units.Peter D.

I need to speak with an agent from uhaul asap please. There are discrepancies in my recent charges for the uhaul I rented this past Saturday. They are being deducted from my account and the agent on Sunday that I spoke with said that these other charges would be removed by Monday and they have actually been charged to my bank account already. I have the paperwork and receipt that the agent gave me when I dropped it off and said that would be the ONLY charge. Please call my cell phone as soon as possible- this is really effecting my finances and is causing me huge issues bc I have just moved and spent a lot of money on rent, etc. Now I am bouncing charges bc of the additional uhaul charges that should not have been charged to my account according to the uhaul agent at Holyoke Uhaul who I spoke with at length about this. The back floor was covered in oil. Also, moving company that was hired through uhaul never showed up. I still got charged for the truck. I was told I had to take it up with the company directly to get my money back. The company isn't returning any calls, emails or texts. Find your own movers. This service is awful.CORY S.

When booking/ reserving my storage unit over the phone, I was never told that my unit was going to be an upper unit. This was a complete surprise to me when I arrived at the facility, as I was told over the phone that this unit was accessible. It is anything but. There were no lifts whatsoever to bring my belongings up to the upper unit, and the stairs were a complete safety hazard. Not only do they ROLL, but they have no safety locking mechanism. At one point, the stairs rolled back while my boyfriend and I were lifting a heavy piece of furniture, and I was terrified for his and my well-being, thankfully we caught ourselves, but we could've been seriously injured if not worse if we had fallen or the furniture fallen on top of us. This was an extremely dangerous and physically painful experience, especially for me because I have a sprained ankle, and I also have chronic back and hip injuries. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted in the lack of accessibility for these upper units. Fix this.Kelley A. | First Impressions
