So right from the start everything was very easy and the employees were very nice polite. I had no issues with workers there. The issues that I did have if they could have this not happen to myself or other people. And I would definitely give you all a 10-10. So when I first picked up the truck on the driver side, it was completely clean like a brand new truck. It was a little dark. I didn't look at the whole thing. The next morning I had to go to the store, and I realized the whole middle consul all over the door the whole passenger seat there was dog hair everywhere, all embedded in between the fibers of the seat. So I had to go and clean it out myself. It literally took me just about 2 1/2 hours maybe a little bit more to get it like 90% and the reason I had to do that is because my daughter and my wife are allergic to dogs. So I contacted U-Haul told him about the issue. They asked me to send them an email happened and of the pictures that I took. I sent them. I got a response back saying that a representative will get back to me after a few days never got a response so I emailed again that I emailed again the following day. Another three days went by. I emailed again never once got a response back. Then I can problem was when I picked up the truck. I wasn't even thinking they never did a walk around with me to look at the vehicle and for us also to verify mileage. I noticed there was a dent on the cab of the vehicle and on the bed. I contacted you all Asked them about it. I asked them if there was any reports of this vehicle ever having damage someone tell me customer service told me no not at all. So now I was kind of upset because I did not wanna be liable for something I did not do I remember also when I got in the truck, I noticed a truck head only 3312 miles. The reason I remember that because I was like wow like a brand new truck only a few hundred miles past 3000 nice. About halfway through my rental. I was wondering about mileage so I looked at my paper on the contract and the contract said 3100 miles were on the vehicle. So right then and there that kind of made me mad because that would be over 100 and something dollars that to me seems like I'm getting scammed. I spoke to customer service again now I realized that when this vehicle was turned in no one ever really looked at it the person that supposed to check the vehicle out most likely just open the driver side door saw the driver side clean shut it checked everything off said it was good to go, because if someone did clean it, then they need proper training. And I truly feel that you all should have customer and whoever's working go over the vehicle and both agree with any damage in miles. Then the last thing is. I originally needed to rent a vehicle for 1 to 2 days, but then after that I had to run to even longer, but did not know how long yet.. spoke with U-Haul and told them I needed to extend my contract, but I would have to do it each day as separate transactions that I did not want the account just open until it's returned. So every day that I called and renewed my contract, the money would be posted on my bank account that it was taken out. This is each day and the amount they took out would never the same majority of the days were $45 each day but some days were 60 something and then even 80 something, but each day I was extending it was coming off my bank account. So I rented a truck from 12/06/22 to 12/28/22. All of a sudden on December 26 I was looking at my bank statements and I noticed all of the U-Haul transactions were gone so now I'm worried. I call U-Haul speak to the customer service telling them it says like 700 and something dollars right now on my U-Haul account but I have seen every transaction this whole time. Customer service agent told me no you're all set. I see all your payments you're good she said all you owe is for any possible mileage over I said ok. Now it's December 28 I go look at my account I knew I had around $200 in my account. So as I go into it I'm -$962 end it says right there U-Haul payment 900 and some odd dollars. So when they were doing every transaction throughout the whole time, what you all did not do was they never fully processed my transactions because after so many days go by if it's not processed on U-Haul side, my Bing put it back in my account. And since each day or smaller payments of like 40 or $60, they were getting put back in my account on certain days here certain days there, so I never noticed it due to all the other shopping for Christmas I was doing and not to mention, I had to return a lot of things throughout that time so when I saw it a slight difference in my mouth, I just totally figured it was the things I return. So now due to them not processing each payment like they should have I didn't realize their payments were being put back. Now I have to deal with paining the bank back $900. So technically isn't my account should I pay more attention yes, at the same time when you stipulate with the company and you tell them that each day needs to be a separate transaction and they agree. And that's what should happen what would happen if I didn't have overdraft protection, and then I didn't have the money to pay then I'd be dealing with a court battle. These are serious things that need to be taken care of. I would hate to see this happened to somebody else. I'm still not done. I have to speak with a customer service and see if there's anything we can work out. And the last thing I forgot unlike December 15 I get a phone call from U-Haul stating they got a phone call from a concern. Customer stated in my vehicle I was driving was abandoned in an intersection in Baltimore, Maryland. I called reassure them. Their vehicle has not even left Holyoke Massachusetts. But it's kind of alarming if There's another truck out there that they have with the same plate and number. I understand there's a lot I said that things happened but besides that when I did speak to somebody, they were polite very nice. But when there was an issue, they don't really wanna get back to you. I'm not gonna say Uhaul is bad it's not just as a customer cover your end even more. Take a picture of the mileage. Do you walk around with a video on your phone?. Just cover yourself the best way you can. Gracias

I needed a truck with one days notice. I called and made a reservation over the phone and it was simple and fast. The woman who helped make the reservation was nice and offered to extend the rental time for me at no additional charge. I opted to do a mobile pick up before the location was open but had some trouble checking in (most likely my fault). I waited until the store opened and the employee got me all set up quickly and I was on my way. Return drop off was quick and easy!

Hi! I was charged for over 30 miles extra, and if this issue is not resolved i will be disputing the charge through my card company. The service itself was kind and delightful, but being charged an extra 30 something dollars is unacceptable; i can map my route exactly and my total distance was 8.8 miles.

I was disappointed to see a giant poster in the store telling employees "never sign an [Union] authorization card or petition" and "Just say 'no' to union organizers." Even worse, it misrepresents federal labor law by saying that you lose your right to a secret ballot if you sign the card, which is erroneous. Federal law provides that if the employer refuses to recognize the union voluntarily, then a secret ballot election proceeds. It even provides an 800 number to call to report on other employees activities and suggests monetary rewards for making such reports. This is legally questionnable. The Holyoke City Council honored former AFL CIO President John Sweeney for the St Patricks Day and declared Holyoke a "union" city. That message did not translate to this place of employment. I really urge U Haul to take down these anti union messages.

A reservation should mean the equipment is available. I was moved from one location (Arlington) to another (Malden), and then Malden did not have the equipment in stock. I had to drive 90 minutes to Holyoake to get it.

This experience with UHaul was the worst imaginable and I will never use nor recommend UHaul again. I reserved a 20 ft truck six weeks ahead to ensure availability and was lead to believe I could pick it up early morning at a location 20 minutes from my house. 2 days prior I get the call that the truck will be ready at 11am at a location 50 minutes from my house. The caller was emotionless and completely non-empathetic to the inconvenience this change caused. I then made arrangements to get a ride to the designated location, showed up before 11am to get paperwork completed and was informed that the truck wouldn't be ready until 4pm and that I had been called, with a message left. I had no message and no missed call on my phone. When I pressed for a solution, the manager/owner gave me a 15ft truck instead and was able to discount the rental $200. Because I was going to 2 different locations in Columbus, Ohio, I wasn't sure where I would be dropping off the truck so I was told to call the 800 number and make that arrangement after arrival. However, on my drive home I received a text to return the truck to a specific location in Dublin, Ohio. The truck itself was fine and I was fortunately able to get all my gear into it. The drive overnight was unremarkable. We offloaded the next day and and I called the 800 number to give them the address closest for my return. That person initially insisted it had to be returned to the Dublin address but, after some anger on my part, acquiesced and changed the return to the Bethel Rd address. I returned the truck just before 5pm with all the gear (appliance dolly, furniture dolly, and folded blankets). The person at the return was the most pleasant and helpful UHaul employee I encountered. On the following Monday, I received a call from UHaul wondering if I was expecting any delay returning the truck to the Bethel Rd location. I responded no, since I had returned it 3 days prior! The following day, the woman at the Bethel Rd location called telling me she didn't see the appliance dolly in the back of the truck. Fortunately I had taken pictures in case I had to return the truck after hours, showing it was there when I left the truck. The truck lot is probably 1/4 mile from the office and she stated that sometimes this happens. I took that to imply that because it's so far away, things get stolen…oh well. I received my invoice today and there's a line about a missing equipment charge. I checked my credit card statement and do not see any additional charge (yet) but I will contest that if it shows up. Communications are the root of all customer service problems and UHaul's communications were atrocious. I don't get angry very often but your team managed to rile me up to the point of profanity. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience and I hope this can be helpful.

Made a reservation the day before because I knew I was moving and needed a truck for 8hrs and was harassed before the last hour by them calling my phone asking if I was done yet because someone was in need of a moving truck. When it actually came time to bring the truck back no one was rushing me and took long to tend to me instead. Next time, just send people elsewhere instead of calling paying customers back to back asking when they will be done.

Staff did excellent with their performance. When I rented out my initial storage, it wasn't what I was looking for. However, there was just a new unit that opened up in time. Everyone at the actual location was great however however my 1st interactions over the phone were not accurate and I was not pleased that I did not have my original reservation for a climate controlled unit. Hopefully all will continue to be a positive experience.

The third floor, where my two units are located are extremely hot. I am concerned that the heat will adversely affect my artwork and furniture stored there. Would greatly appreciate turning down the heat. It was about 80+ degrees. Not 64 as the signs stated. Seems very secure.

Online booking was not as clear as it could have been. Better photos explaining the difference between the split level and "upper level" storage (including the need for the moveable metal stair rails) would have been beneficial. However, Ashley's thorough assistance with my needs and desires was exemplary. She patiently escorted me to different units as I was deciding what would work best for me, until I was able to establish the "perfect fit"! Customer service won out over online booking! The public bathroom in the bigger building needed more attention. It almost never had toilet paper or paper towels and usually needed more care. I stopped trying to use it after some time, which was limiting when the office building was closed. Aside from this the experience was great, thank you!

The facility is infested with cockroaches. I went to my storage unit to bring my personal belongings and i saw several large cockroaches in the unit and on the hall floors. There are small black boxes for pest control in every unit but it does not control the problem. I was afraid to place my belongings in the unit since I knew when I moved my boxes, I would probably bring them with me inadvertently to my new home. Other than that the facility was well organized. The staff is awesome, especially Emily.
