We are so upset with this rental experience. This was not the rental location that we chose. We were sent to this location which was over a 30 minute drive each way from the location that we had chosen to rent the truck. We were told by the original location that the truck was returned early, only to find out that there was not a truck available when we got there. Horrible experience.Jorge R.

The regular dolly that we reserved online was not available at pickup and if we needed one then we were forced to upgrade to an appliance dolly which didn't not work for what we were moving. I feel like we wasted money renting it. The staff was very nice and helpful I just wish the equipment we reserved was there since we reserved in advance. Also, a reverse light was out on the truck, and I believe the brakes need to be checked.CHRISTOPHER B.
This location is terrible went to pick up my uhaul they didn't speak to me when I walk through the door didn't explain nothing to me they had attitude the whole time the one gentleman just sat their never ask us what we needed.never got Certain emails for the uhaul that I sunspots a gotten. I will never rent another uhaul angina.oh don't let me forget that I ordered a dolly to go with my truck I get their and they tell me they don't have any so why don't y'all have dolly for each truck ? the guy hooking up the trailer was rude and arrogant. he kept talking over me and talking to me like I was stupid. I kept trying to tell him what the guy told me inside to do and it's as if he didn't care and/or I didn't know what I was talking about. he kept raising his voice at the same time talking down to me. really pissed me off. I'm white, he's black, and everybody hates white people these days so maybe that was it. then he hooks up the trailer and just walks off. it's not the first time I've used this location and I've seen him work before. his whole attitude is terrible; just mad at the world. acts like he hates his job. short responses to people, rude, arrogant, indifferent. I've used this location for the last time. the wheels were severely out of balance, ingress/egress traffic is horrible. I've used this location for the last time.JOHN W.
This facility is a cheap metal building set up like a maze. It's impossible to find a unit and once we finally did, we couldn't believe how cheaply made it was. I wouldn't entrust my belongings to such a shoddy building. We didn't move in, cancelled our reservation and went elsewhere into an actual solid, brick and mortar building.Derek H. | Online Move In
The truck was parked in a very tight location and it took about 20 minutes to slowly get the vehicle into a position to pull out. This almost seemed as an attempt to demand you come back in and pay for extra insurance or laziness of the staff not to have a truck ready to pull out easily. We could have easily completed our needs with a pickup truck but new it would be rainy so we rented a truck from UHaul. The truck leaked badly and may have damaged some of the leather furniture we were transporting.MATTHEW M.

I booked and reserved for a different location that was over 25 miles away. I am extremely upset at Uhaul for making me drive an additional 75 miles to complete my move adding an additional hour and a half to my move and causes me additional stressors and headaches.CAIRA W.

This truck was horrible it was so bad I couldn't even take it on the Highway because you hit a bump and it would sway so bad it would leave the lane. We had to avoid the highway for this reason and ended up using more miles then necessary. When I bright this up at the return I was laughed at and told I will let the manager know, also they stated they would send me a receipt email in 10 mins well that's been 18 hours ago and still no email! I am so upset with this and if I didn't have to have my daughter moved yesterday I would of returned the â€œtruckâ€ right away! I will use another service for now on with all my moving needs! Due to not getting a bill also I'm not sure how my total was $187 either! I would love to speak to someone from U-Haul about this experience as we use U-Haul a lot and I have never been so upset!Amanda S.

I was disappointed with rep. Didn't check truck in my presence. Haven't got final statement to see if there were any additional charges. That was the second location I went to to drop off truck Can't remember 1st. It was on Charlotte ave. Would not take my return cause he was full. Had to go to final location with traffics being terrible Was not pleased. Good part was a very nice truck that was set up for me I believe that was my 5th r sixth truck n a year ThanksDennis C.
I couldn't do the self-check in upon return because the U-Haul website wouldn't recognize my location so I just put the key in the door. I guess it turned out OK. Why doesn't the system automatically email me the receipt up check-in the next day? I get a survey request but no receipt? Also, I appreciate that this location had a lot of equipment on hand but I had to drive the truck from the grass and hop a curb into the street. Almost got stuck and was concerned about pulling out into traffic.HERMAN N.

Truck fuel was under half a tank of gas. The manager radioed why the truck was on hold. Because the previous renter did not refill the gas tank. I was told to bring the truck back at gas half full. We returned it over half full. But we were charged 59.94 for gas because the tank was not full. So basically I paid for the previous customers gas and then had to refill it. I spent hours trying to call customer service. Held for over one hour several times. I won't rent there again. And they owe me $59.94 for gas they wrongly charged me for.HEIDI E.

First of all this was the rudest place I have ever been in my life. I get there and park in the only parking spot I could find available. The plan was to check in and then ask where I can park my car before I use the truck for the morning since I hadn't reserved anything through U-haul before. Well that didn't happen. Before I could barley get out of my car I was basically told by some lady that customers parked across the street, and she was planning to park the U-haul that she was moving where I had just parked. Not only was it very unwelcoming, but down right rude. A few other people were parked in the lot and being served. If you don't have parking for customers to be able to check in or ask questions etc. What kind of company are you?! It sure makes it seem like you don't want my business. The thing that really made me upset was that when I came back to return the truck around noon there were tons of regular vehicles parked in the spaces while I had parked at Publix across the street. I will never be back to this location, or use U-haul ever again. I would rather pay triple the amount than ever use your services. Oh and if anyone I know mentions that they plan to use U-haul I will certainly let them know about my terrible experience. Way to treat customers with respect.Daisy M.

There was a flood approximately 10 days before I picked up my belongings. I had soaked boxes, rugs, and furniture. No one notified me. They were aware because there were dozens of moving blankets in the corridors and entrance to soak up the water. I worry about units next to mine that we're hit even worse with the flood waters. I now have a uhaul truck stinkinking of mildew and soaked belongings that I am getting to dryer environs where I will have the opportunity to assess the damage. Please let other unit renters know before they suffer 100percent loss!! I was given the insurance number to call and will do so after truck is unloaded and soaked items unpacked so I can assess the condition of belongings. I was charged for the "estimated" milage as soon as my card info was entered. In my case I estimated 50miles. I only used 26miles of that while in my possession (I took a picture for proof) I was never reimbursed for the additional 24miles. The next morning I was charged an additional $10.01(assuming for gas) We used a total of 1/8 of a tank if that of gas. Yes, I forgot to put that back in the truck before returning it (at 9:30pm) but was never reimbursed for the unused milage so why charge me an additional $10.01???Lisa R.

We first tried to return the U-Haul to 3020 Charlotte Avenue as we were told any U-Haul would accept it. They would not and were rude and obnoxious to us and said to go someplace else. I was flabbergasted by the service given the EXCELLENT service we had at your Howell location. We eventually were able to return it to this location but they also were not interested in taking it, but did, and I was stressed out from the return experience. Taking the U-Haul one way was quite expensive and after we got such good customer service in Howell we thought it would be worth it. The drop off experience is one that would make me not rent a U-Haul again unless I got from Howell and returned it there.Mathew C.

As usual, I haven't received a rental return receipt. I returned the truck 8 hours ago, so I'm thinking it should have been checked in, but still haven't received an emailed receipt. U-Haul changed my drop off location to this location. The lot was very crowded, it was difficult to turn in and others attempting to enter had the same problem and was blocking traffic on the main road. The staff was extremely â€œRudeâ€ and obviously frustrated with the crowded lot.Weir C.

The mobile check-in process is TERRIBLE. It is truly the worst self-check-in system that I have EVER worked through. The general system that would be done in person was down, otherwise I would have stopped trying to get through this incredibly frustrating process. The experience I had at this location will cause me to NEVER do business with Uhaul again! The staff was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I did not get the storage unit I reserved nor was I able to drop off the 26ft truck I rented as well. This has been the worse experience I have ever been through with a company I have been doing business with for many years. I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean the storage facility was, including the restrooms. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I had a horrible, train wreck of a move and needed a truck and storage unit at the last minute to get our final belongings out of the property and stored while we are able to move into our new home. So glad this facility was open until 7pm and able to take care of our needs at that stressful moment in time! To be honest, the first round of help was rough, but I want to extend grace due to the awkwardness of Covid-19 and some other circumstances.
