I just moved from Fla and had such. Big ordeal working with the PCk Rat storage facility. I will never use them ever again. I am 71 I should have listen to my daughter and rented a uhaul like we first plan it would have saved us a lot of Headaches & money. Recommend cleaning out the trailer if the previous customer did not. The trailer had black greasy dirt on the floor. I have been conversing with Matthew & Kia over the past couple months regarding a storage facility to rent long term. They have been most helpful and very courteous. I am impressed how well maintain led your storage facility is. One of the nicest UHaul storage units I have ever seen. I am in a waiting list to obtain a outdoor facility. due to my Age & chronic back issues that makes it difficult to go up and down, in & out of the indoor storage facility. I was fortunate enough to get a unit on the second floor near the elevator. I went ahead an signed a copy tract 14 days earlier so I at least be near the elevator. I understand the outdoor units are few and at a premium. I plan to be their long term and it would benefit me to have a outdoor group f level storage unit I would even consider a larger then 10x10 if one comes up before October 1st. My personal belongings are in transit from Fl to arrive on the Sept 17 to the Pack Rat storage facility, Tentatively to be delivered on the Sept. 18th to the UHaul storage facility unit comes up later in Sept I can chsnge the stop off Date up to Oct. 1st.HELEN W. | First Impressions

Truck was booked and not available at the location I set the booking for causing me to travel 4 additional miles on my booking then planned, PLUS the time to collect the truck and return it. Atrocious customer service on the call centerâ€¦ suggesting that the closest truck available was a 57 minute drive each way to pick up and zero ability to provide any flexibility after calling me 1 hour before my booking was due to be picked up and admitting that THEY made the mistake and not me. I drove past the location the morning of to confirm that there were trucks there and verified that a matching vehicle at the selected locationâ€¦ then when they â€˜set up' the booking at the new location 20 miles away and completely messing up the things that were planned for pickup and other pickups that day the contract supplied to me at the location was incorrect (likely because the customer service associate didn't bother to verify things with that setup). I eventually had that rectified and then collected the truck which smelt like cigarettes (although I will admit it felt clean otherwise). During the drive I found the need to beep the horn when a car cut me off and found that the horn was inoperative. All in all a pretty terrible experience.MICHAEL JAMES G.

There was no walkthrough with me when I picked up my truck or a walkthrough after returning the truck either. So if something breaks after I retrieve it, am i the customer just supposed to accept it? And be responsible for any damages?â€¦.YANG Y.
This was the second location we went to for pickup. When we arrived at the first location it was did not have the size truck I had reserved and the location was closed. This took us 40 minutes out of our way and was completely unsatisfactory.David E.

For the Herndon location - perhaps let people know about the $20 surcharge for nighttime return, which I don't understand to begin with. You have the vehicle, you have to do the same things to it for turnround. What is the $20 for?? For national UHaul - QUIT. MOVING. MY. DAMNED. RESERVATION. I made a reservation for a specific location near my house. 2 days before pickup, it was switched to another location NOWHERE near my house. So I went back in, made a new reservation for another location near my house, CHECKED IT IN and canceled the other one. Then 12 hours before pickup my location was switched AGAIN to the same place NOWHERE NEAR my house. I called the second local place nearby first thing in the morning, and they told me to ignore the switch and come in and get the van they had waiting for me (which I did). WTF?? Good on you for taking care of a customer, Herndon. Piss off, national reservation system for twice f-ing up my reservation.JEFFREYALAN B.

Van was very clean and in great condition. Low mileage and did fantastic on long day of highway driving dropping a kid off at college. Full tank wold have been nice to start when the reservation was for an extended day/mileage reservation.Andrew G.
When I was given the UHaul, the fuel tank was less than a quarter tank! This is not normally an issue but due to the level being so low I had to fill up at a premium at gas stations nearby. I returned the truck at 3/4 a tank, an extra 1/2 a tank more than I was given, however, didn't receive any compensation for the extra gas. To give this location 5-stars I would say maintaining a ready-to-go truck is super important, and if not then some compensation should be given for filling the tank. In general, the service was fast and the employees I worked with were super friendly.Aaron S.

At check-in the employee lied and insisted that I selected insurance online. My wife argued that I wouldn't have selected insurance. My wife was forced to sign based on the lie that I had already selected insurance. When I arrived and before we left my wife notified the employee that I had not selected insurance online. The employee told us that we could resolve the issue after the rental and that they would refund the insurance. The local store has not responded to any communications. I know they did not open till 7am, but when a customer is trying to pick up a truck and asks a simple question as you go into work at 630 like "where is the key lock box" there is no need to snap back that we are not open yet and then only vaguely point in the direction of the key lock box. And in general better details of where the key lock box is would be useful, and it would be nice if it was closer to where the actual trucks are.Bradley S.

Kai did an amazing job! I was in line to check out behind someone I would describe as a "challenging" customer. Kai was incredibly patient with her, handled her concerns professionally and efficiently, and was not rattled or distracted by the customer's unreasonable demands. Overall the customer service is great, store and exterior is clean and maintained. The improvement is that during the summer months the store should close at 9 p.m. (because of the volume of rentals in transit/moving peak) and more discounts should be offered (was looking for more discounts since the rental was not off the lot for a long period). Keep up the good customer service and clean store. Christopher Hall was the service representative, and he is motivated and satisfied the expectation of my interaction with renting at U-Haul, as moving is indeed already stressful.MARCUSJ J.

I think I can make it work, however the dimensions are definitely not as advertised. I even measured. It's supposed to be 10X8X8 but it actually measures out to 9.5X7.5X7.5. Also there are only two parking spots provided in front of the loading area. The rest of the area is no parking for fire fighters. There's literally nowhere else to park to load/unload items. This seems crazy to me. I will have to come at odd hours so I can get a spot. I tried to unload items but there was no parking so I had to come back. Why wouldn't they have made more parking for customers loading and unloading items? Or even put that entrance in a more accessible area? Not designed well. Also the elevators are very small. Can barely fit the carts you provide into the elevator. Thank goodness I don't have large items because there's no way I'd even get them on the elevator.Bryan A. | First Impressions

Every step of my move was horrible. I don't even know where to begin. At every step of the way uhaul messed something up. They messed up our truck reservation, then our storage unit. We needed 10x20 unit, didn't have that so they said they would give us 2 10x10s, called to confirm they, they had us scheduled for 2 5x10s. Thank goodness that they had 4 5x10s next to each other. Then once we got to our temperature controlled storage unit, the AC was broken and it was 110 degrees indoors with 90% humidity. Then the cherry on top was that they messed up our drop off location for our truck. All in all a terrible experience.kirsten p. | First Impressions
Everyone has been very accommodating. The facility is well-kept, and well stocked with all the necessities. I initially went to this particular uhaul to rent a trailer for an extended period of time, but while talking with Matt the owner, I decided to also rent a storage unit. Best decision! I left the dirty and over priced facility to store some extra things at his storage facility. Very pleased overall! Everything was great accept the size of the elevators. For a facility that is used specifically for storage, large elevators with large doors seems to be a necessity but instead they were tiny. Sort of wild that this wasn't considered.
