We had no issues with the Uhaul Hempstead location, however we had a lot of issues dealing with Uhaul in general. A month before we moved, we originally booked a 15ft truck to pick up at 11am in NYC. Two days before our moving date, I received an email that our reservation had been changed to picking up our truck at 4pm (5 hours after we had scheduled and well after we planned to be done moving). The customer service agent on the phone told me they never confirm pickup times til 24-48 hours ahead of the date but that was not noted on any of my original schedule confirmations. We asked if we could do an earlier pick up time from any other nearby locations but apparently there were no other 15ft trucks available before that one at 4pm. We eventually had to choose to downsize to a 10ft truck from Hempstead. This created a number of issues as it was not big enough to fit all out belongings so my fiance and I had to drive back and forth to nyc in our own car two more times after our big move with the uhaul. In the future I will not be using uhaul for my moving truck rentals.

I returned my trailer at 2:30 on Friday. The lot attendant was helpful and very nice. At 3:30 I received an angry call from a manager stating that people were waiting for the return of my trailer. This manager should be disciplined for his lack of knowledge that the trailer was on his lot for an hour and to leave such a rude message to a customer. Will NEVER use this site again.

I would recommend this location and their service. Prior to this I was a regular at Rockville Centre but you have a total disrespectful jerk this general manger who has not business being in that position and has issues dealing with people. Do yourself a a favor and remove her from your staff she does not represent Uhaul in any shape or manner and the service I got in Hempstead proved it.

I returned the truck on time and gave the keys to the front desk. The truck was returned clean and full of gas. I asked for a final receipt and Selvin Vasquez says that they are very busy and he will email me the receipt. I told him that normally I wait for a final receipt to make sure there are no extra cleaning and fuel fees added to my receipt. Selvin assured me to not worry and there would be no extra charges. I received the final receipt via email and I found a $25 cleaning fee. I myself made sure the truck was returned in the exact manner in which I received it. This is not fair. I am a long-term uhaul customer and I expect a refund of $25.00 Contract # 81091198 Madhukar Patel 443 722 9595

The service I got from Rockville center which my usual spot was terrible for the first time. The gal that's there has no people skills and a sewer mouth this idiot had the nerve to tell me to go to Hempstead because she has the right to refuse serving me. Do yourself a a favor get her out of your organization she has a business representation that is going to cost you customers

I tried to utilize the contact free mobile chedck-in. The system would not allow me and stated I coould not login for my reservation because my mobile could not be located. I was frustrated because I was unable to take advantage of the moblie check in. and had to go into the store to go through the entire check in process I did on-line at the counter.

The store, rental truck and staff at the store are great. The afterhours drop-off process is absolutely terrible! You are asked to create an account using the app, only to find out that your actual rental cannot be located once logged into the app. Instead, you have to go to the website, click on "don't have an account" and find your rental that way - all of this information was only given to me after waiting on hold for an HOUR on the phone by a U-haul rep. Why wasn't I informed of this ahead of time? And why create an account with the app if it can't locate your rental in order for you to return it? Terrible app interface and overall functionality. And U-hual needs to hire more call center support staff - I've called twice and the wait times are at least 30min just to speak to someone. Overall had a terrible experience trying to return the truck.

My truck died and nobody came to help. I had to call a mechanic to jump start the truck. He told me the truck has the wrong battery in it.

Before I left the Hempstead location I was told that the lights were in working condition after being inspected while attached to my vehicle. When I arrived home I was told that the right brake light and turn signal were not working. I notified uhaul via internet and when the repair guys showed up they found a couple of breaks in the wiring. So the light were never working to begin with. Other that that all was good.

The person who took the truck back, jacked my rates up by 10 miles and swore I didn't replace the gas. I drove roughly 16 miles, he swore I drove 28. I was too tired and sweaty from the move to argue with him

The line too long. They need additional help. I reserved online decided to do in-store pick up. My mistake too many customers not enough help. It was the weekend hire more help. It should not have taken me over 1 hour for a pick up from reserving online. Once I did receive the truck everything was ok.
