Clean the black grease off the inside damage prevention guards. We got black smudges on some of our stuff. Make sure there's a new chain on that trailer that isn't rusted and super thin in some of the links. Teach the employee's that attach the chain to the vehicle to not twist the chains to make them shorter, this can cause more strain on the chain links.

Call Center I called one of the local locations directly but ended up talking to someone at the call centre. Thy confirmed that the equipment I was looking for was available in my area but couldn’t give me an exact location until I confirmed my reservation with a credit card. Once I gave my card # I was told that the scheduling department would call me within the hour to arrange for a pick up location. 10 minutes later I received a call from the scheduling department. They informed me that they did not have that piece of equipment available. I asked what had changed in the 10 minutes since I spoke to the first person who told me there was availability. I was able to get the unit that I was looking for from another location after taking to the second customer service rep some more. My suggestion would be for a search function when someone requests a certain type of unit that the customer service agent would be able to give the customer the locations within a 30 min drive that has that type of unit available. Then the customer would be able to choose the closest location to them.

I have had two rentals from UHaul in 2019, both have been returned to this location. For both rentals I wound up receiving notifications a few days later saying I hadn't returned the trailer. For the most recent rental, the problem seems to have been that the wrong trailer number was put on the contract. One might have expected the receiving office to have picked up on that. I don't know what the problem was with my earlier rental this year although it eventually got resolved. Also, I had difficulty getting the trailer off of my hitch, so I wasn't able to drop it off on Sunday when I tried. I came back on Monday morning and the young lady working at the counter was unable to remove it either as she had no tools or expertise. At least she tried. She was about to send me to the office in Dartmouth when another customer (who had a complaint of his own regarding fuel levels) was good enough to help me getting the trailer off my vehicle. So both people I dealt with, one on Monday morning, the other on Thursday afternoon, both did their best to help with the limited resources they had available to them. Although I really think they should have picked up on the trailer number and filed the appropriate forms to say I returned it. As for whether the location is "clean and inviting" - well not really the description I would give to a huge warehouse (former Walmart?) that is 95% empty. I guess you take whatever real estate is available and it does have a nice large parking lot. It did the job but I wouldn't really classify it as "clean and inviting" - more "cavernous and foreboding" .

This was the most poorly organized experience of my life. I went to pick up the vehicle I was assigned after hours and it wasn't there - because the exact same person who gave me all the pick up details, sent it out with a different person. I was on the phone with uhaul for 4 hours - and no resolution. Just a lot of call forwarding, and suspicious call dropping. I eventually got a truck the next morning. Then, I was given the impression (and by that I mean explicitly told) that if I returned it sooner than the allotted days, I would be refunded for the days I didn't use the uhaul. This is the only reason I booked for as long as I did - to give myself cushion in case something went wrong in my move because there's no harm if I return it early anyway. Found out at drop off that's not a thing for one-way outer city rentals. So that's approx $100 paid for days I didn't use it.

Complaint about one of your workers, I came do drop off your truck on Saturday night at 6:45pm and the girl ran to shut the door in my face and said she was closed and wouldn’t take my rental back when they close at 7pm. I then tried to return the rental online and it wouldn’t let me. I waited for the employee to come out and asked her to open the box for the truck and she said she was working in the morning and would return my truck for me so I wouldn’t get charged for the 2 day rental. She didn’t do it and I got charged for 2 days. I found that very ignorant and not professional. I would not recommend uhaul anymore because of her. The girl when I picked up the truck was very nice and was very helpful.

The guy that I dropped the vehicle to had quite a long lineup of vehicles to check in and seemed quite overwhelmed. He mentioned being concerned about getting home in time for his girlfriend. Essentially something that wasn’t relevant to me as a customer. On a positive note he did reduce my wait time by letting me go and checking the vehicle in after I left and sending me an email confirmation

Booking nightmare but it all worked out in the end. I got switched to this location and had to call to confirm several times. Also got switched to 24/7 truck share without notice. When I arrived I was helped immediately (wasn't very busy), took forever, their credit machine was not working so he took my information. The guy at the counter was not very personable. Rented furniture pads which he told me were around the corner and not folded. I found 8 usable ones and took those. very gross and probably hadn't been washed or anything. Glad I do not have to move again for a while. Also gas was only at 1/4 tank... not sure what is up with that?

The people before me were late so they mad us late .. and then she charges me extra she said and extra $49 for being late be charged me for the miles the insurance $15 and the extra environmental fee and the extra km is was supposed to be $89 I ended up paying around $160 and she committed fraud and put undisclosed charges on my credit card

I didn't get my furniture dolly that I reserved because there were none but still got charged for it. The counter person was very disorganized and had very poor customer service skills. And I got a call the day before, telling me they were changing my move time to 3 hours from 6! Absolutely Unacceptable.

I had to change the size of the truck that I had ordered and despite several issues going on in the office that morning in Bedford, I have to say that the manager treated me courteously ,politely and professionally .I was very impressed with her calm and helpful attitude.Then when I went to the Bayers Lake branch ,the girl there was equally accomadating and poilte .Overall ,a very pleasnat rental experience and credit to those two staff memebrs.Please convey my comments to them both.Thank you Mark Bond

Heaven and I believe his name is Cody. They we're very helpful to me as I am in a difficult situation with the "x". I dealt with Heaven mostly and she is a powerful women of the best kind. Great employees who have heart. People with heart care and can always be well trained because they care. I believe I talked to Zack on phone as well. Also great job. I will be back to your business when I get my finances in order. PS. I have some great pictures of the truck in my driveway. Yall may want them. Give me an email or something and I'll send a few. The location is new and doesn't show up in a Google search yet. Ok for me as I drive right by, but others may not. Love having this new location within 5 minutes of my house. It makes getting a small trailer to pick something up very easy and convenient.

In all the correspondence you sent me, you assumed that I owned a smartphone, and gave me instructions for using it. Nowhere was there any link to somewhere I could tell you I do not own a cell phone. In other words, the local U-Haul location & personnel were excellent, better than most! BUT...       the internet service part was dreadful, and caused me extra work and worry.

U haul representative at return location had a terrible attitude and was very rude. Also, it is unreasonable for u haul to expect the customer to wait around for a walk through of the vehicle if they only have one person on staff. In this instance, I did not need anything from u haul and the employee was busy with another customer and I had a 6 month old baby with me. When I tried explaining to the employee that I couldn't wait any longer and wanted to drop off the keys and leave, she became very hostile. I'm not sure I would use this location again in the future.

STAFF: Both staff were excellent!. Company: Provide Tanks at Full and have customers return the same. Its really hard to guess how much gas gets you back to some random starting point (between full and empty.) and likely the customer will always lose as they overfill trying to make sure they don't get dinged for gas charges.

Sole employee at location took excessive amount of time (over 20 minutes) with another renter to assist with attaching a trailer hitch. Was not rude but was not friendly in the least; he did not give me an indication of how long he might be or apologize for the delay. I went through key pick-up process online instead. Everything else was excellent.

For privacy reasons, I hope that the rental clerk erases all the pictures he took upon return of the trailer. Pictures such as the renter driver’s license are not to be kept in his private cellphone. Otherwise, that Halifax location gave an excellent service.

When you call Uhaul, they don't recognize this as a location yet. That needs to change - would have been renting from here as soon as they opened had we known. (Asked someone on the phone with uhaul about this location and they suggested it was likely a location that closed down and was waiting for the trucks to be moved to another location)

Adjustments were made to my booking the week before, these adjustments were substantially different from the booking (i.e., 9am pick up moved to 5:45 pick up) that I made and required me to significantly adjust and coordinate other services that I was using to help with the move. This caused a lot of stress, which I had attempted to mitigate by making the booking several months in advance, as I understand the start of the month is very busy time for uhaul. When this adjustment made, by a person with who was overly direct and did not acknowledge the significance of this change or the fact that I made the booking several months in advance to avoid this problem - apparently, this information was not updated in "the system" and I was provided incorrect information about where to pick up the vehicle and subsequently had to drive across town in rush hour traffic, which delayed the move by over an hour. When I arrived at the second pick up location, only one staff was working and he was not able to make changes to other peoples' orders, due to "system issues", which further delayed the move by 1 hour. Upon returning the truck the following day, again there was only one staff working and I waited over 45 minutes to be seen, only to be overcharged in Km, which I discovered upon returning home. As well, when I attempted to return 12 unused med and large boxes (which were purchased in a bundle approx. 2 months earlier, at which time I was told that I would be able to return any boxes that were unused/unbroken, as long as I had my receipt - which I did), I was told that "the system" was "down", and that I would have to return my boxes another time. After carrying the boxes to Uhaul from my new home, I am concerned now that they will not be returned as they have been shuffled around and the edges are worn as a result. I am completed dissatisfied with my experience with this company and will be sharing my experience with friends and family. I will not be booking future services with Uhaul and I will not recommend this company to others. Thank you for this opportunity to provide feedback about my experience. I sincerely hope this contributes to changes and better customer service in the future.

Truck was not available despite calling to confirm each day of the preceding week to confirm. This delayed our move several hours and caused us to incur expense and undue stress due to delaying our moving help and moving arrangements. When we tried to resolve this at the Uhaul location, one of the employees, Heavan Payne was verbally abusive, screaming at me and calling me a bitch.

the trailer is in very bad shape shouldn't be on the road brakes don't work you hit one bump in the back axle bounces off the road you put your brakes on on the vehicle to slow the trailer in the vehicle down and all the sudden you hear group big bang you get out and look in the slide bar that hooks onto the brake cylinder is flopping around you check the brake thing bone dry a fluid and Rusty inside and wheels are on the back or both sculpt so that trailer on my last contract I would not use again the young fella at the new location in bayers Lake city was taking it over service so hopefully they fix it Windmill road way better service way better equipment

Get the bookings right. Confirmed a 15 foot truck for a 9am pick up. Confirmation email said 4pm at a different location miles from where I needed to pick up. End result was a 26 foot truck at 10 am. Didn’t need that big a truck and it got 7 miles to the gallon instead of the 15 miles to the gallon the smaller truck would get. Was not all that satisfied as I was told my booking was confirmed 6 days before J neededthe truck.

The staff member I dealt with was great. Very friendly and helpful. While doing up the paperwork I had to run outside to get more information. Your representative tried to start helping the person behind behind me but it was not a quick question. When I came back he politely told the customer he had to continue helping me. I was very pleased and I will recommend this location.

Staff was fantastic, the location is in transition but no issues with the physical location. Highly unlikely I’ll ever use uhaul again. Mileage rate was ridiculously high for local area use and returned within 2 hours!!! Not impressed, next time I’ll rent a truck from a car rental operation with unlimited mileage.

As a result of the tire replacements by road side assistance, we were delayed getting on the road and delayed arriving at this UHaul dealer for drop off. A lady from this location called me to see what the delay was. She was very polite, professional & understanding of the situation and offered to extend the rental until the next morning. As soon as we arrived at our location & unloaded the stuff, we immediately drove to the dealer to drop off the trailer. The next morning when I checked my email, the checkout documents were sent to me by the dealer and there was an additional charge to my credit card of $34.50 for having the trailer for an “extra day”. I don’t feel that I should have been charged that extra fee as the reason I was late dropping the trailer off was because of road side assistance having to replace two tires (I have a photo to back this up) and also because I advised the UHaul agent of the reason for the delay.

I first went to a location at 211 Pleasant St. Dartmouth,It was closed....that locations is 40 minute drive from my residents. It was two hours before closing time, so very disappointing which made my over all experience poor. Will look for other options before renting from U-haul again.

If $15.95 is the daily rate for in-town pickup truck rental don't charge the customer another day fee for bringing the vehicle after 6hrs. Apparently the return time for my rental was 2:30pm and I returned at 4:30pm the same day. Rental began at 10:38am that same day. I know your there to make money on rentals but daily means "the day". Once this changes I would gladly refer this location to my military friend whom move on a consistent basis.

Office is not yet set up properly. Was first to the premises but served second. Location was about 20 minutes away from the location where I first booked the truck and changed a couple of days before I was to pick up - added stress to a move, as well as a $25 taxi ride. Had ordered blankets and they were guaranteed, but none were available, so suggestion was that I drive to another location where I might be able to get some (great idea as I was not familiar with Halifax and had movers waiting for them - not!!). Fortunately, a U-Haul rep from Moncton was on the premises and searched some trucks to find some for me. The comment from one of the reps in the office who wasn't serving the line of customers but working at a laptop, that they had blankets a couple of days earlier, was more than annoying. On the positive side, the truck was great (15', even though I'd ordered 10' which wd have used less gas), allowance of days and mileage from Halifax to Toronto v. good.

The operator of the original drop off location on Herring Cove Rd in Halifax closed the shop early and left. There was no key-drop option either. This was a big hassle as I then had to find an alternate location. The alternate location was very helpful.

First time using the mobile pick-up feature. A few steps to go through, but they were laid out and explained very well. A great feature for accessing rentals outside of regular business hours. Thank you!

Everything went well, only issue is that I received an extra charge on my card with no explanation. Vehicle was brought back early, clean, and fueled back to where it was when I picked it up so I don't believe that there was any reason for this charge.

Only rated below average due to setup - rather basic, not heated - entrance to a former warehouse. Staff was friendly and helpful, vehicle was ready to go.
