Our reservation was originally in Mountain Home Idaho. They found us a truck 62 minkes away, thankfully. However, the accommodating the mileage, but we were still required to fill the gas tank of the truck for those 62 miles that were not expected by us for the uhual or our personal vehicle. $60 instead of $30 to refill the uhual to return, and $30 for my personal vehicle to go pick it up. I reserved our uhual almost a month in advanced and $90 in unexpected gas right now, is well unfair to your customers. Thank you for finding us a uhual but your trucks use a lot of gas, and making a customer go 62 miles one way and not offering to cover any gas at the price of $4.49 a gallon is unfair.

Furniture pads are a big problem. UHaul says each Ubox comes with 24 pads. The actual number that arrived was zero. The moving help loading crew, who went above and beyond, went back to UHaul to get pads and came back with 8; wholly inadequate for 2 Uboxes and there was more damage to some furniture that we would have expected. All of that could have been avoided by providing what was advertised.

They have the NASTIEST customer service at this location. I was harassed REPEATEDLY about dropping off equipment that had been returned on time. Then they sent an invoice for an outrageous amount. I've reached out several different ways without a response. I will NEVER do business with U-Haul again, and I will be sure no one I knows does either.

The location was fine. The uhaul call center is who I had a problem with. They changed my pickup location and I had to drive further to pick up my truck. Then they didn't tell me I could check in online to get the key before the location opened. I showed up there at 7am (my reservation time) and the place was closed until 9am. I wasted 2 hrs waiting for them to open to get the key. Very frustrating

We did not reach an agreement on pick-up location for the truck and equipment. I originally booked uhaul for August 23rd, but had to cancel and reschedule for 1 week later on August 30th. When I rescheduled, I requested to have all the equipment, car pulley and truck available at the same location. Regardless, the uhaul representatives responsible sent me to 3 different locations to pick-up the car pulley, supplies and truck. I had to go to this garden city location for the truck, out to Meridian to a place called Motor Mayhem to pick-up the car pulley, and the location on 1121 North Orchard to pick-up the supplies. The extra driving around, which also required an uber to and from to go back and get my car, cost me extra time I did not have to lose. The manager Sean at this Garden City location appeared to charge me twice for the truck, claiming the August 23rd reservation had not been canceled on their end even though I had the cancellation confirmation in my e-mails. The charge he rang me up for differed from the reservation amount I had confirmed. He told me that I could not move onto the next screen unless I confirmed the order, even though the pay screen did not have the prepaid box checked. I thought the prepaid box should have been checked, because it appeared uhaul had already charged my bank account for the truck ahead of time. He also would not release the truck unless I agreed to pick-up the other items at alternate locations, and pay again. I mentioned potentially submitting a complaint regarding this experience. The truck I was given did not have a usb drive to connect my phone, so this caused complication later in the move when my phone died and I could not contact individuals I needed to for location information and status updates. My relocation was back home to Southern CA, a roughly 15 hour drive, so having no power connection for my phone was an unnecessary loss.

Did not get my rental on time. Reserved for 8 wasn't ready till 10:30. Had issue with the previous renter and checking it back in which caused more delay. The next day I got a call asking what the trailer number was because they weren't sure which one I had.

When we picked up the truck there were significant mechanical problems we were not aware of. The truck was very loud and when it was repaired in Omaha, NE the exhaust pipe had not been connected to the muffler. The air conditioner never worked and was confirmed the compressor was bad. Uhaul gave me a credit of $1,000 against my total bill due to the problems noted above with the truck

The young crew that you had working today were the most informative people I've ever met at U-Haul before. Literally they had every answer and we're subject matter experts in every part of the U-Haul experience. I don't know their names but they should be reviewed for this they did really well.

Try cleaning the bugs off the windshield. (pick-up center for truck) Why do I have to ask to get help hooking up your trailer to your truck? (pick-up center for trailer) (routing / schedulers / local logistics people) I scheduled my truck and trailer a month in advance. When the agent Renee, sold me where to pick it up when it is ready I told her that is not the location that is close to me and to move it to the store near me. She said that she took care of it. Of course you don't get a new reference number for any order changes so if something goes wrong, nothing to prove it. Anyhow, four weeks later and they hadn't called me the day they were supposed to to confirm my truck and car dolly. She also told me the wrong Uhaul center for the truck! I told her that a month ago I had it moved to the closer location. This woman claims, that it is setup to pick-up where I specified. I told her no it isn't. That is where they tried to set me up a month before and I had Renee move it to the close location at that time. This new CS rep made a call and got the truck pick-up set for the location close. Then tells me there is no car dolly and she checked a 50 mile radius. I had to get a full trailer. This trailer also wasn't at either location, which is strange since I locked one in 4 weeks before. Instead, with a limit of 523 miles for the move and a truck that gets 10mpg on a good day, I had to get the truck and then drive out to the opposite end of town with a bug blasted windshield that could hardly be seen through to get a full car trailer that I didn't want nor reserve 4 weeks before. Drop-off. Same type of garbage. The drop-off center that I was scheduled to use, BY UHAUL that knew I had a truck and trailer set my drop off location at a place that can't take a trailer, only the truck. So, here I am, again, driving way out of my way to drop the trailer at one place then the truck at another place the next day. One hand doesn't seem to know what the other hand is doing nor do the people that you talk to have access to what each Uhaul center can or cannot do, or they don't know where to look or click on their screen to see it. It's almost as if when you have to do all this extra driving because they don't have your stuff where you scheduled it to be they won't have someone drive it over. They make you do it and that comes out of your mileage and out of your pocket for gas, sure it was maybe $20 in gas but come on! At least act like you care!

I reserved a cargo van two weeks prior to August 28 which I was to pick up by 3 PM. When I got there they gave me a van told me I had been fully checked and cleaned. I drove it home loaded the van and noticed that it was stating it needed a oil change on the dash. I didn't noticed they rented me a van that had two bald tires in the rear of the vehicle. This was very concerning to me and I felt was very irresponsible due to possible safety issues that could happen while driving to California from Idaho and back. If I had a problem with the engine That would not be good since I would be crossing Oregon and Nevada deserts in areas that do not have cell service. And the tires are a complete safety issue that could hurt somebody. I tried to return the van after noticing it at 4:30 on that Saturday, August 28 and they told me there was nothing they could do that I had to call roadside services. Before returning to Garden city U-Haul to see if I could get it fixed I tried calling them and waited over 30 minutes without anybody picking up the call. They told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to call roadside assistance which I did and waited another 35 to 45 minutes with nobody answering. So I finally decided to go online and send them a text message with pictures. They finally contacted me 2 1/2 hours later and said they were working on it. If I had been broken down with my family in the desert or on the highway somewhere this would not be very good. They need to fix their communication hub and figure out why the store doesn't pick up to assist her customers . If you're understaffed you need to hire more people. My question is if these things are on a schedule to be serviced and when they come back from a rental they are to be checked it's not happening. Roadside assistance finally showed up at 12:30 am at night at my house and replace the two rear tires in my driveway. I was planning on leaving at 3 AM and due to this problem with the van I was lucky to only get two hours sleep with all the phone calls and text messages on my phone letting me know they were on their way. The next morning the dash light for tire pressure came on it showed the left front at 80 psi it showed the right front at 50 psi it showed the left rear at 60 psi in the right rear at 64 psi. The guy to change the tires and the place I rented the van from in Garden City neither one of them checked the tire pressure and made sure they were correct . Plus the guy that changed the tires got my driveway dirty And I needed to pressures washed when I returned. Totally disappointed with the lack of service the lack of safety concern for the vehicles they're renting to the public and putting peoples in possible danger. I would like to talk to a regional district manager to find out how this happens ASAP if I don't hear from somebody I will go to corporate I am very dissatisfied . The only good thing I can say about this adventure the van did run good and got 21 1/2 miles to the gallon.

This is not related to the location itself but the entire process was honestly terrible. We have used U-Haul in the past (every time we have moved) and this was the worst experience. I am not sure that I will use U-Haul again. The reservation was made online and not one thing about the reservation was honored. The date, time, pick up location, drop off location or truck. When people are in need of a moving truck, they have coordinated everything else, not just the truck. The truck however is the biggest part. This was an awful experience.

The trailer I rented had a tire with very worn tread on the interior passenger side. I showed the salesman and he said it was okay. I asked what would happen if it blew on my way? He said I was covered. This was very unsettling to me. I drove very cautiously the entire trip and rerouted my route to avoid construction.

Two clerks, female that rented the pickup truck and Daniel, to me was excellent. Everyone else was not extremely helpful. Seemed short in communication and not very pleasant. I'm a bit upset with the charges which have overdrawn my account resulting in multiple 24.95 fees because of it. Now my qccount is negative over $600.

My only suggestion is about checkin, as I was ignored BOTH days (and when I walked into the store after 5 minutes the first day, the employee basically scolded me and said "you have to wait out there for checkin, behind that abandoned truck that somebody ELSE presumably walked away from because he was ignored ALSO." (It would have been nice for SOME acknowledgment like "Jake is a bit behind on checkins, but he will be there in a few minutes." I had no way to be certain if ANYONE was doing checkins. The first day, there seriously was an abandoned truck/trailer at head of check in line and nobody around. Second day/second truck, same experience except a nice lady came out and checked me in when I walked inside to find somebody. I would improve this part of the experience, but everything else was PERFECT! ¡Gracias!

I was completely satisfied with the 6"x12' trailer rental. Customer service staff were pleasant and provided clear information. The rental cost was reasonable. I will consider renting from U-Haul again if the need arises.

I just moved my mother to Casper Wyoming and after the move was unable to find a rental car to come home to Boise so I called the 1-800 U-Haul and asked if it was okay if I just brought the U-Haul back to Boise instead the lady on the phone says yes no problem we can work out some sort of deal . so with that being said I drove back to Boise when I dropped the U-Haul off .U-Haul made me an awesome deal ... The guy at U-Haul told me I rented it for a one-way trip and he didn't care what 1-800 U-Haul told me .and then charged me a daily rate for 5 days and mileage 1607 miles . which came up to almost $1800 thank God I already paid $667.so now I only owe $1200 .....THANK FOR HELPING OUT AND WORKING WITH ME 1-800 UHAUL

Uhaul gave me a free storage unit with my moving truck rental which really helped me clear things out of my house as I was packing and sorting. And this unit was HIGE which was really helpful. The staff was friendly and just great. The facility was great with easy personal access via a gate clicker.

The only issue we encountered was the narrow roadway in front of our unit. Several times while we were unloading/loading at our unit, we had to stop what we were doing to move our vehicle to let another vehicle go by. That was rather inconvenient.

I was told there would be a lock in the unit when I opened it, but there wasn't. I went into the office to ask about it and they said they were out of stock. No one communicated this to me before I dropped off a load of my stuff. Meanwhile a load of my stuff was in the unit unlocked while I had to go to a store to purchase one. I'm not upset about there being no lock, I'm upset about the lack of communication and the subsequent poor customer service of the guys running the office. They kind of gave me a "it's not my problem" attitude.

I had moved my belongings out of there months ago and there's a few things left that my daughter was supposed to retrieve and apparently she didn't when I contacted them and they told me I had the option where I could get figure something out with them there really wasn't much left in there except through remaining part of my swimming pool the umbrella to my outside patio furniture and an air conditioning in my cup entertainment center of some sort of my daughters and I could not get it through with anybody there lady took a message for me and told me she would get back to me that day because they were supposed to auction off that day and I called three different numbers and I never got a call back and now I'm told my stuff was auctioned off for $37.50 and I do the remaining balance for I don't know how many months now talked with people twice there nobody has been done anything for me and it's the same thing when I rented a U-Haul I had nothing but issue with billing and no I would not recommend the tendonlocation to anybody

The unit I had (745) was a very difficult unit to access by moving van or trailer and near end of contract the front of my unit was significantly blocked by additional units placed on the ground which made it unusable for me to back into so I was not able to continue using it for what I needed it for. At the time of initial rental unit there were no other units available. This unit was also quite expensive I thought comparably in the market. The staff was extremely nice and always helpful, the hours of access are great, but this is just an inconveniently placed unit for access with busy and restricted access (single lane right driveway) and limited turn around area for a vehicle with any kind of trailer or moving truck. I believe it would be helpful to make additional notes at time of rental that this unit cannot be backed into and that you will need to carry or haul items quite a distance that are moved into or out of this unit.

First off. Doing ANYTHING at this location has been a chore and takes three times longer than it should. Every time I'm in there the employees look like they hate their job- tepid at best- and all complain that the computers take forever and are having loading issues. That was no different today. Otherwise. They lost my reservation, then didn't have the size of truck I needed, and originally reserved, so I had to make multiple trips instead of one to achieve what I needed. Still charged me full price, of course, without a single apology for the issues that I can remember. The truck was to be returned in full, although upon checking the fuel before I left it was 7/8's. Had to contact and remedy contract with people at the store and (I believe Dan) was great about it. Minor inconvenience, as an isolated incident and Dan did fine. Also. The location charged me a late fee, despite me being on autopay with the same card and same expiration date I set up my account with. Employee said the expiration date was wrong in the system, but again, it is the same exp. date I have had for years. As I got that resolved, they waived the fee, of course - it wasn't an error on our end- they asked if I wanted to pay up the account. I said no, as I am clearing out the location today. Person said that is fine and goodbye. I thanked him, and then I turned to leave and was stopped by another person saying that actually I have to pay because I have been in the unit 4 days after the payment date. I told the person that if they really feel that it's fair to charge me after loosing my rental, not having the truck I need because of that, charging me erroneously and me having to figure it out with them, to do what they think is right. Got home after spending the day moving with the small truck, and they charged me for the entire month for half a week's stay into the period. Beyond that. I called the week prior and specifically let them know when I'd be cleaning out and was not advised of any period of time that I would have to be out by to not be reimbursed for a prorated amount for the month. I was further frustrated at the fact that, despite the maybe 10 Keys on the wall for reservations coming in, there were probably 20 trucks on the lot that were the size I needed anyway. I'm sure there's a reason that I was told that a 15' truck that I had reserved prior wasn't available, maintenance, or whatever, but this certainly just struck an additional chord. Not happy with this location.

I'd recommend putting more effort into customer service. I found your customers service was extremely difficult to access. I was managing this remotely and attempted to get in touch with a human being via both the on line chat and the phone (did this simultaneously). Spent 51 minutes on hold. Before the 51 minute long hold, I got to someone who said she needed to transfer me and that it would only take a minute. I'd say she set my expectations incorrectly. Thanks for the opportunity to communicate this to you.

The information disconnect between the national and local customer service staff is pretty significant. As a result, I wasted HOURS when I should have been packing the truck trying to verify where and when my contract showed I would be I at my destination and what storage I would be using. When I moved out, I cancelled the truck I had ordered but wanted to keep the rental for moving blankets which the very pleasant lady from national told me I could do. When I arrived with trailers and trucks to load nice furniture and antiques, local told me I could not rent blankets unless I rented equipment. They said it was policy bcs so many people did not return blankets. So charge them the purchase price for the unreturned blankets when you figure their final bill. I DID return all my rented blankets with the truck but I was penalized for what others did!

Part of the contract started that I would recieve a free lock. I recieved a text message stating that the lock would be in my unit upon move-in. It was not. I tried calling the office about this. After approximately 10 minutes of letting the phone ring someone who identified themselves as Jodie answered. When told the problem she at first replied that locks were not provided. That'll when informed that I read promised a lock in my unit she said that was incorrect and I needed to come inside for one. As I was exciting the storage area to cums into the building to pick up a lock Jodie left the building and drove away leaving me no opportunity to lock my unit. I had to drive to Wal-Mart and purchase a lock. I spoke to corporate about the behavior and was promised I would recieve a call back. It's been a week and no phone call. Also, I rented a 5x10 unit and it is not 5x10 no matter how you measure it. Given the broken promise of a lock, the exceedingly poor customer service by both corporate and the local location, and the incorrect unit size I just cannot recommend U-Haul storage to anyone.

My only problem was when we rented a truck to move out. When returning the truck we made the mistake of dropping the key in the night box before checking out on our phone, we called uhaul and the (nice) lady on the phone helped us as much as she could but yet we were charged $20.00 the next morning for not completing the process online.....and then I was told it is a way to get the customer "to help them" (uhaul).

The instructions made it seem like I was supposed to move in and then get my gate key. Only one gate is accessible and to leave the key pad is rather far away. I couldn't find the keypad before office was open and struggled to get out, even with customer service on chat mobile. I couldn't reach anyone by phone. The site also makes it seem 24 hrs accessible but confuses by saying specific aloud hours.

The price was pretty good. It isn't as nice as a lot of the chain storage places, but it's less expensive. It's also much older than most of the new, fancy storage places. My main recommendation would be to have a light in the unit.

Had lots of issues with the U-Haul Storage fob didn't work first off had to get it replaced couldn't get into my storage because fob didn't work wasn't offered a code for the keypad got locked inside the storage units because fob didn't work gate wouldn't open no after hours number to call to get out had to wait for another customer to let me out because they shut my fob off and my passcode 10 days before my last day at the unit

While speaking to more then 3 people I kept getting different information on my Uboxs. First 2 did not know how to look up when my payment was coming out. The third person told me that I didn't have to pay for it till I went and picked it up. 2 days later I was charged a week earlier then the u-boxes were supposed to arrive which ended in overdrafting my account. When I called to see if they could revirse I was transferred 3 times. Where no one could help. By the end they transferred me to the first person I talked to. All and all being told we can't help you.

The unit was an old pull trailer which was fine for the things I have to store. However, it leaked on more than one spot. The clicker that I was given didn't work so I got stuck inside the gate. I feel that it is the employees job to ensure that the clicker is working before sending to customer out to figure it out on their own.
