Overcharged, horrible customer service. Returned the behicke and they just charged me for anything and everything they could. Single mother, moving on the snow…..needed a couple of extra days. They hit me with every single fee they could. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. Go with the moving company at least then you have somebody to help.

The process of dropping off the trailer was unnecessarily complicated. There needed to be someone giving CLEAR directions where incoming drivers need to go to return trailers vs. returning vans. Staff was overwhelmed by cleaning and moving vehicles. With traffic backing up onto the highway, I was given conflicting directions where to drive then told to back up a trailer into the stream of incoming trucks without a ground guide. Is this really what you want someone new to the trailer to be doing?

Drop off attendant was not available at time I pulled up. I thought i needed to go inside to check in, so I went in and waited in line for about 15min until inside attendant acknowledged that drop off check in was handled outside. Other than that, check in was smooth.

I answered, yes to was the equipment clean and well-maintained. The van was not clean however, an apology was extended for that when I picked it up. I had to go back the next day to get the tires inflated, because one was extremely low, two were kind of low and one was Where it needed to be. I do feel that the tire pressure is a safety issue and should be checked before sending someone out on the road. I was given a credit for the mileage it took me to bring it back in however, that still took time out of my Day to do that. The employees there were very accommodating and the van I rented was more than I expected and even with the glitches, I would rent from this location again as long as I can get that same van! The Dodge Ram rocks!! (Not a Ford fan)

The vehicle was clean-ish whoever had it last didn't clean the bed very well and there was sand and rock in the corners, but the truck ran great, handling everything we threw at it. The staff on Chinden have always been the best to work with. There are 3 other locations closer to my home, but I drive just over 8 miles to work with Chinden specifically. I have never had issues with my rentals there, and they have fixed issues I have had with other locations.

Picking up the unit was fine. It was dropping off the unit that sucked. I parked, some guy unhooked my trailer didn’t say anything to me and walked away, so I just drove off.

I had a tire that went low on the trailer that I didn't pickup on until when I was on the road to the following day. Next time I will pay attention to that since I lost some time in my travels trying to find air that worked at a gas station.

I was given a dirty truck. They said the tank was full, it wasn't. My moving pads weren't in the truck and I had to go all the way back to get them. Everyone there was nice but just need some training in customer service. When I told employees the truck wasn't clean no one really seemed to care.

Have the vehicle full of fuel and require it to be full of fuel when returned. The practice of requesting it returned with an odd amount of fuel is BS. The gauge did not work properly and I was told I owed $31 in fuel costs. After I already had just put $20 in the tank. After arguing with the tendant for 5 minutes, the guage then showed I only owed $11 in fuel costs. I guess if I sat there and argued longer they would have had to pay me! What happend to the practice of picking it up "full" and returning it "full"? Luckily the manager was a sensible guy and waived the extra fuel costs. The seats in the truck were torn up.

Excellent service. I had to change trailers to fit my refrigerator and they didn’t bat an eye. Zip zap the trailers were switched and I was on my way. Very pleased!

Customer service was severely lacking. The truck I reserved had not been pulled out of the lot, so I had to go find it while it was packed like sardines with the rest of the trucks. I could barely get the door open to get in and only had inches to maneuver it out from it's spot. I was also told that there was already a bag of moving blankets in the back and that I wouldn't get charged if I didn't use them. When I returned, I was told that I would have been charged anyway once the bag left the lot. Also, with the electronic form to verify that all looked good with the truck, the included pictures of the truck were very low resolution (with no way to zoom in), and had been taken at night with poor lighting. There's no way to definitely say whether there were dings or scratches from those photos. I've patronized this location before and had much better service. Please strive to do better. Thank you!

Only put no on the "was it secure and well lit" question because there wasn't a light in my unit. I provided my own lock and it was kept secure. I was given a full refund after having paid for the month when I moved out of the unit the 11th day of the month. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had my stuff in there for over a year and everything was just as I left it. 10/10 customer service.

We had an issue at first with my rental having a flat tire. However through talking with the lady in Moneta and Uhaul they arranged another unit at a different location and discounted my rental price for the inconvenience of driving further. Thanks to all involved especially the lady at the Moneta VA location. She did everything she could to help me.

The owner is a big guy. Seem friendly and knowledgeable of his job. But on 2 separate occasions I spoke with him. He stinks very badly and I couldn't wait to get away from him. Someone should talk to him about his hygiene. Not sure how anyone can stand to work around him. Yuk, stinky!! :(

Uhaul gave me a free storage unit with my moving truck rental which really helped me clear things out of my house as I was packing and sorting. And this unit was HIGE which was really helpful. The staff was friendly and just great. The facility was great with easy personal access via a gate clicker.

The only issue we encountered was the narrow roadway in front of our unit. Several times while we were unloading/loading at our unit, we had to stop what we were doing to move our vehicle to let another vehicle go by. That was rather inconvenient.

I was told there would be a lock in the unit when I opened it, but there wasn’t. I went into the office to ask about it and they said they were out of stock. No one communicated this to me before I dropped off a load of my stuff. Meanwhile a load of my stuff was in the unit unlocked while I had to go to a store to purchase one. I’m not upset about there being no lock, I’m upset about the lack of communication and the subsequent poor customer service of the guys running the office. They kind of gave me a “it’s not my problem” attitude.

I had moved my belongings out of there months ago and there's a few things left that my daughter was supposed to retrieve and apparently she didn't when I contacted them and they told me I had the option where I could get figure something out with them there really wasn't much left in there except through remaining part of my swimming pool the umbrella to my outside patio furniture and an air conditioning in my cup entertainment center of some sort of my daughters and I could not get it through with anybody there lady took a message for me and told me she would get back to me that day because they were supposed to auction off that day and I called three different numbers and I never got a call back and now I'm told my stuff was auctioned off for $37.50 and I do the remaining balance for I don't know how many months now talked with people twice there nobody has been done anything for me and it's the same thing when I rented a U-Haul I had nothing but issue with billing and no I would not recommend the tendonlocation to anybody

The unit I had (745) was a very difficult unit to access by moving van or trailer and near end of contract the front of my unit was significantly blocked by additional units placed on the ground which made it unusable for me to back into so I was not able to continue using it for what I needed it for. At the time of initial rental unit there were no other units available. This unit was also quite expensive I thought comparably in the market. The staff was extremely nice and always helpful, the hours of access are great, but this is just an inconveniently placed unit for access with busy and restricted access (single lane right driveway) and limited turn around area for a vehicle with any kind of trailer or moving truck. I believe it would be helpful to make additional notes at time of rental that this unit cannot be backed into and that you will need to carry or haul items quite a distance that are moved into or out of this unit.

First off. Doing ANYTHING at this location has been a chore and takes three times longer than it should. Every time I’m in there the employees look like they hate their job— tepid at best— and all complain that the computers take forever and are having loading issues. That was no different today. Otherwise. They lost my reservation, then didn’t have the size of truck I needed, and originally reserved, so I had to make multiple trips instead of one to achieve what I needed. Still charged me full price, of course, without a single apology for the issues that I can remember. The truck was to be returned in full, although upon checking the fuel before I left it was 7/8’s. Had to contact and remedy contract with people at the store and (I believe Dan) was great about it. Minor inconvenience, as an isolated incident and Dan did fine. Also. The location charged me a late fee, despite me being on autopay with the same card and same expiration date I set up my account with. Employee said the expiration date was wrong in the system, but again, it is the same exp. date I have had for years. As I got that resolved, they waived the fee, of course — it wasn’t an error on our end— they asked if I wanted to pay up the account. I said no, as I am clearing out the location today. Person said that is fine and goodbye. I thanked him, and then I turned to leave and was stopped by another person saying that actually I have to pay because I have been in the unit 4 days after the payment date. I told the person that if they really feel that it’s fair to charge me after loosing my rental, not having the truck I need because of that, charging me erroneously and me having to figure it out with them, to do what they think is right. Got home after spending the day moving with the small truck, and they charged me for the entire month for half a week’s stay into the period. Beyond that. I called the week prior and specifically let them know when I’d be cleaning out and was not advised of any period of time that I would have to be out by to not be reimbursed for a prorated amount for the month. I was further frustrated at the fact that, despite the maybe 10 Keys on the wall for reservations coming in, there were probably 20 trucks on the lot that were the size I needed anyway. I’m sure there’s a reason that I was told that a 15’ truck that I had reserved prior wasn’t available, maintenance, or whatever, but this certainly just struck an additional chord. Not happy with this location.

Very difficult with trailers as have to back out due to blocked gate. Not easy and staff did not help with issue just offered more expensive units.

I'd recommend putting more effort into customer service. I found your customers service was extremely difficult to access. I was managing this remotely and attempted to get in touch with a human being via both the on line chat and the phone (did this simultaneously). Spent 51 minutes on hold. Before the 51 minute long hold, I got to someone who said she needed to transfer me and that it would only take a minute. I'd say she set my expectations incorrectly. The information disconnect between the national and local customer service staff is pretty significant. As a result, I wasted HOURS when I should have been packing the truck trying to verify where and when my contract showed I would be I at my destination and what storage I would be using. When I moved out, I cancelled the truck I had ordered but wanted to keep the rental for moving blankets which the very pleasant lady from national told me I could do. When I arrived with trailers and trucks to load nice furniture and antiques, local told me I could not rent blankets unless I rented equipment. They said it was policy bcs so many people did not return blankets. So charge them the purchase price for the unreturned blankets when you figure their final bill. I DID return all my rented blankets with the truck but I was penalized for what others did!

Part of the contract started that I would recieve a free lock. I recieved a text message stating that the lock would be in my unit upon move-in. It was not. I tried calling the office about this. After approximately 10 minutes of letting the phone ring someone who identified themselves as Jodie answered. When told the problem she at first replied that locks were not provided. That'll when informed that I read promised a lock in my unit she said that was incorrect and I needed to come inside for one. As I was exciting the storage area to cums into the building to pick up a lock Jodie left the building and drove away leaving me no opportunity to lock my unit. I had to drive to Wal-Mart and purchase a lock. I spoke to corporate about the behavior and was promised I would recieve a call back. It's been a week and no phone call. Also, I rented a 5x10 unit and it is not 5x10 no matter how you measure it. Given the broken promise of a lock, the exceedingly poor customer service by both corporate and the local location, and the incorrect unit size I just cannot recommend U-Haul storage to anyone.
