John T.There was one person working at the time of drop off and she couldn't have been more than a teenager, which meant that I had to detach the trailer myself. Additionally, no one had cleared the drop off lane of all the other trailers that had been dropped off, so I had to maneuver around them, back up to the front of the drop off cover, drop the trailer and walk it out of the way, so that cars could get around.

Clifford D.Customer service could improve. My vehicle was not parked where the picture indicated. Additionally, I ordered an appliance dolly with my truck. The dolly was not with the vehicle and I had to walk into the store to get the dolly. Not a big deal in general but defeats the purpose of the 24/7 self service feature U-Haul offers.

Returned truck was told I didn't fill it to the line I watched it fill to and was charged for gas when I in fact followed the line it was when picked up. Ridiculous.
Abbey T.No one was around for me to return the truck at 1130am. Truck was given to me with 1/4 tank but I had to return it with a 3/4 tank despite only driving 40 miles.

However, this experience was not great as it took over 30 minutes to find an open storage unit and get everything situated. The first storage unit they gave me had people actively moving furniture in it. The process was just frustrating yesterday, but it ultimately all worked out. I got my stuff put into my new storage unit- just took way longer than I anticipated. My first time storing here was great- was in and out very quickly. This time however, it seemed that the employees were unfamiliar with the system and the polices. I asked about delivering items to the facility and they claimed they never have done that. Well the sign directly behind them stated that you can ship items and the employees can sign for you. All I wanted to know is if I got something delivered, I could come by the same day and put it in my unit. I left frustrated as they had no clear answer.

I called and not only did Dillion not grouse at me, but gave me advice. I contacted the help line and the gentleman who helped me was fantastic. He too gave advice, worked on obtaining a locksmith and wasn't condescending. Overall the experience was a good one!

I was not able to stop and clean it because I was on a 2-lane highway with no shoulder on a winding and hilly highway in the middle of nowhere. Also,I tried adjusting the outside mirror so I could see the rear of the car I was towing and it wouldn't budge which made driving more challenging.

Amy W. | Online Move InGreat help from U Haul Moving and Storage Galesburg. I am not happy with multiple text and calls connected with my rental. The original trailer size I ordered wasn't going to be available, so I was offered the next size for the same price. This also happened a second time, this time time offering me to drive 60 miles round trip for a trailer; I declined that offer, stating I live in Galesburg where there is a local UHaul. I was offered a trailer to be picked up in Galesburg. My wife went to pickup the trailer on 8/12 and they told her the trailer was in Moline, another 60 minute round trip. That wasn't going to work for us, so they offered yet another size trailer, so we took that. On 8/13 we got a call from UHaul in Moline asking why we didn't pick up the trailer. VERY UNORGANIZED operation.
Dwight W.I tried to purchase a lock from this UHaul facility and it didn't work properly. When it came time to exchange the lock for a refund, the manager (Timothy Guerrero) could not figure out how to process the refund. I left the store on Sunday, July 3, 2022, without a refund and a less-than-satisfactory feeling. When I cleaned out my small space after one month, I checked out successfully -- without incident. However, went I went to retrieve an item (I Pass transponder) that I had left behind during a previous rental, I was told by the assistant manager, Dillon Barnes, "that it was a good thing that I found it. I'm surprised the manager didn't toss it out." That same manager saw me on Saturday, July 16, when I successfully cleaned out my storage space, and chose not to come to the counter when I was ready to check out. Why? I'm not sure. I was also promised some type of UHaul VIP certificate to compensate for some of the lack of customer service that I have received over the past three weeks. It has yet to applied to my bank account, and the amount promised (appx. $246) is insufficient to cover these latest round of poor performance on the part of UHaul. I'm sorry to report this. We had to return our truck on 1/1/2021 but due to an incoming snow storm the store was closed. We contacted the 1-800 for guidance because we had stuff to put into storage and didn't have any storage unit info yet. They advised that we take the truck back home and return it when the store reopened. We showed up the next morning and Dillon showed us around the facility as well as guided us to our unit. The whole process couldn't have been easier! Stress-free experience which is greatly appreciated. Keep up the excellent work!!
